You can find the step-by-step plans to build this Paneled Window Seat here: www.woodsmithplans.com/plan/p...
You’ll probably have only one problem when you build one of these window seats - convincing your friends that it only took a couple of days to build. It looks much too nice to be so easy. This project starts by building a simple plywood box. A sheet of plywood and a little bit of basic joinery is all it takes. Next, you cover this “shell” with solid-wood framing or add some traditional molding. Glue, brads, and a handful of screws hold it all together. In no time, the basic plywood box is transformed into a classic. One of the shortcuts that makes this possible is using pre-made moldings purchased at a home improvement store. This saves a lot of work without sacrificing quality.

I made one for the foot of our bed and use it as a dirty clothes hamper. Works perfect and acts as also a shoe bench

I've made several trunks over my life time. Some big some small, some painted some made of hard wood. I really enjoyed making everyone of them and see the looks on the faces of those receiving them was priceless.

These hinges styles at 13:19 are really cool and space saving. I used it on one of my projects as I needed it to open on a drop down door softly and it worked perfectly. Nice chest designs i like it!

Out of the 3. I really like the look of the blue one. I'm going to put it at the foot of our bed and put cushions on top. One question. What is that blue paint called and who makes it? Matches our decor

I'm not completely sure, but I think it could be what they call milk paint. I've seen it used before, but have never used it myself. Also note the distressing (if you haven't already). Looks like they painted it then deliberately sanded through the paint in certain places. You could sand through to raw wood or you could first pre-paint the box in a contrasting color of your choice. Sanding through the outer paint layer would reveal the first paint layer for a different effect.

Where do you buy this "shooting board"? I have never seen one, and would love it. Too often the miter saw takes too much or too little, this is a nice manual way to take a little and get it just perfect.

Question: Why the rabbits on the front and back pieces of plywood? Is there a reason not to make the rabbits on the end pieces? Thanks!

One thing you should add are a couple of vent holes to allow air inside. Kids like tom hide in chests. The holes would allow air in case they become trapped by something placed on the lid too heavy for them to lift.

Every few years kids DIE from being trapped in air tight chests. I used to do the Serious Incident reports for a major Police Force for years, I'm not making it up.

For indoor pieces, unless specified… Typically they just use original Tite Bond

It would be nice if you covered some alternate methods of making the parts, not everyone has the room for a table saw (or deaf neighbors). So please cover using a router and rebating bit, a router table & fence with a regular bit, a rail guide with a circular saw and/or a router - I even made my own simple router guide just for making the rebates on 6 board chests with a 4ft piece of 6in pine (so the router won't tip) and a slightly wider off cut of 1/4in ply glued together - with a template following bit you hardly have to measure, just pencil where matching panel goes, place the fence, clamp & rout.

Tip for the kids fingers: make the sides about 1/2" lower at the hinge so if the fingers of a sibling are near the hinge when it is closed, it will not pinch where the mechanical advantage is greatest.

Shutting off the saw with a knee? If a dangerous tool requires acrobatics to use effectively, it's time to reconsider using the tool.
