On this episode we recreate our subfloor for the Hemi coupe. After a trip home to Canada and a spark of ideas from some great builders we change direction and start to create a floor. A floor that looks as if it could be factory to both the body and frame. This will make a great base to fabricate new sides the will help us in channeling the model a body our desired 2.5” Hope you enjoy!

Watching you fight with the curling paper pattern reminded me of a trick my Dad (a sign-maker) used to use. He would keep a wooden closet-rod handy, to roll his pattern paper on backwards, before using it, thus removing the curl.

Jordan, if you don't mind, I have an unsolicited bead rolling tip that might help - All the experts I've watched say the same thing and it absolutely works .... Feather in the contact pressure only when the rollers are moving. And then feather out the pressure as you go back over the lead in length where you feathered in. This will virtually eliminate the dimple you experienced @19:45. All the best to you 👍👍😎👍👍

Once again, another awesome video! As for the shadow when bead rolling...I found a cheap LED headlamp works the best. Give it a try, and you'll see.

Great job, and happy belated birthday Jordan. Only place I cringed a bit is at 7:48, I hope you trust the how strong is the plastic covering of the engine intake where you put the bolts. LOL

Not a metal worker and certainly not as skilled as you but I do have an appreciation of your cornering ability on the beading wheel that comes from my scroll sawing projects. Do you find yourself drooling a little while going around those curves, Lol??? Nicely done, as usual, and a pleasure to watch!

Beautiful work son! Years ago, we used 3M 77 spray to lay a tricky pattern on metal. Once it settled, we could do any work that was needed. When finished, a rag and lacquer thinner removed the paper and adhesive. - Old Sheet Metal Man

Try a Tungsten Carbide Tipped Holesaw next time. We are cutting sheet metal with a 105mm one, at high speed and we get a 100 holes out of a holesaw easy.

That paper curling up all the time is a real pain... you may find that it will stay flat if you spray or wipe just al little water on it when you´ve rolled it out and let it dry over night.

I just bought some good magnets on temu they would have clamped through that panel onto the bench really well and save you alot of hassle look up fishing magnets they were about $5 a piece i can barely peel them of the bench with vice grips i use them to butt weld sheet metal instead of clamps usually

Looks good Jordan but you are still going to need some type of structure to support the floor, seats and belts (if they get fitted). Without the subframe/top hat sections the floor will be weak and sag. How will this be dealt with?
@wrstew1272
@wrstew1272 5 месяцев назад
Wouldn’t it be appropriate to put a reinforcing channel in multiple places, laterally, to stiffen the flooring? Automobile mfgrs and aircraft mfgrs do it routinely. 1/2” tab to rolled 90, 3/4” vertical to another 90, 1-1/2 wide to 90, 3/4 to 90, 1/2 tab. Plug welded on six inch intervals across the seat areas would double as mounting points. Hell for stout and easy to bang out with the brake you have access to. It would have to take the oil canning out with little work and minimum weight. Thoughts?

Hello Jordan ( happy belated birthday 🎂 you did say you was an Aquarius) there’s a modelA just come on the market over here, with a heavy channel and hemi power. I liked the addition of the table. Looks to give you a lot better control of feeding the material into the dies. Can you say who made the chassis? Enjoyed this content, thanks for sharing your work.
