Don’t forget about the other Toyota engine swap options! You can go for the four cylinder 1AR/2AR(wayyyy better than the 2ZZ) or the 2GR V6 if you are crazy! Marc from Frankenstein Motorworks makes all the parts for these engines to bolt right in.

Now that the bumper has been cut, please put on a comically big diffuser.

dont smash your cat(alitic) converters just anywhere on asphalt, these things are worth real money, collect every gram and sell it to your local recycle place and you can get hundreds of dollars

There are some 1zz with 700 whp on Puerto Rico with pretty much a turbo, pistons, rods and a good tune!!

Just got my kswap running and I love it. I had a 2ZZ and I wanted to do an NA build. I sent 2 2ZZ blocks to the machine shop and neither were within spec and I didn’t want to sleeve them (the mmc cylinder walls means you can’t bore the block). I dug the hole deeper and went kswap. Couple things to note: If you go k24 you will lose AC unless you want to custom fab. My plan for the winter is to take the bracket for the swap and just machine new holes that shift the compressor further down since the engine is taller. So I think it is possible. The header you use needs to be for the k24 or your exhaust will interfere with the rear subframe. There’s a lot of vibration and rattles. I partially blame the previous owner for not using the right hardware to hold on body panels and interior panels, so I’m battling that right now. If you install a rollbar, you will need to cut the interior panels for the storage compartments behind the seat which will get rid of a lot of interior sound insulation. The shifter feel is the sloppiest part of the car. Everyone misses getting into 3rd and they skip to 5th. Apparently there’s a solution that allows you to use oem honda shift cables but I have not tried it yet. It also means no center console. That’s all I can think of for now for things that many people don’t mention. Good luck!

A toyota 2gr fe is also a great swap, 300ish naturally aspirated v6 with tons of torque

Favorite rebuild on this channel thusfar. Always loved MR2s and the last Gen got no love. Great little car. Ben; you're the best!

2zz-ge with a supercharger or turbo would be great for the track coming in around 450-500 hp. On top of that lotus has a lot of good support for that engine and you can also get that computer for it to runnn
