I've been beating on one of those Harbor Freight Band saws for 30 years and it's still going strong. My wife bought it for a Christmas present and brought it home in her Miata Sports car. The kid that helped her load it thought she had lost her mind. But with the top down it fit in the passengers side easy. Then she just put the top back up and drove home in 28 degree weather. Gotta love her. She has bought me some awsome tools for my shop.

Plasma cutter ✅ Fab shop ✅ Adventure camper ✅ eBike✅ Army truck ✅ Off grid property ✅ Pole barn garage with apartment ✅ Backhoe ✅ Jeep with tracks ✅ Glad one of us competed my bucket list! 😂 But willing to give up all that to not be around monster spiders like that! That is exactly why I live where it snows 8 months out of the year. ❄ ❄ ❄

Anxious to see the completed project. It is nice to hear you say, "I made a mistake", or "It didn't work", rather then just let us see the end result. This should make others realize that the knowledge to do something isn't already there and it definitely takes research and trial and error. Keep up the good work.

My comment on your statement about having driven about 5000 miles being tough an I guess it would be for ya'll. Now for me that amount of driving was a drop in the bucket as I regularly drove that much in a week to 10 days all the time. Life of a truck driver. Your statement had me laughing so hard I bout fell out of my chair. Love you two, keep up the projects an smiles on your faces

Damnit Reckless! You live a charmed life, sir! Ok...what the WHAT?!?!? How does someone, Alex, break a front axel housing? 😕😒 I am so relieved! When you first started talking about this, I was picturing a SnowCat! I held my tongue, I was not going to be negative...but SnowTrax is an awesome idea!!!! No snow yet. I'll let you know as soon as it does. Are you going to be able to get the trailers up to the shop after it snows? I wonder how soon Courtney will out drive you in the new JeepTrax! 😉

I love these videos both the “build” ones and the human interest ones. I’ve never met a Casey by birth or marriage who isn’t smart, creative, entrepreneurial, genuine and funny. You came by it honestly. “Can do” people are important because they have the greatest ideas and they pave the way for the rest of us. Love the Jeep.

I bought one of those bandsaws while building my home built airplane. Works fine until you go to move it and the legs collapse. Stiffen them up now before they go on you.

I love spiders, the biggest we see in the Netherlands where I live, are about 5 cm incl legs. I've lived in South Africa where we had some big ones too. Looking forward to seeing the jeep in snow as well as the rest of the barn build!

Riley & Courtney..love your videos. IMHO..I would think twice about not having steps inside your building to your apartment. On a rainy or snowy day or night, pull in the blg and walk up your steps to your living quarters. Good luck you guys.

Oh this should be fun. Ideally you want the leading and trailing edges high to assist in climbing over obstacles and snow/mud and avoid digging in, but this eats into your footprint. I think for your needs your design will work fine unless you get stuck, then it might have a tendency to dig under. With solid ground under the snow digging down should be a non-issue

My dad's had one of those band saws for probably close to 30 years still going pretty good. The frame is flimsy but folks modify them and fix their short comings cheap

Modifying the frame to be a bit more stout would make for a significant improvement!

@@AmbitionStrikes You might want to use the plasma table to make the parts you'd need to stiffen it before you head for Idaho. That way, if you need/want to do so later, you just need a welder.
