My husband and I took an early retirement , sold all we had and have been living debt-free for 6 years. It’s interesting that the Bible recommended a simple lifestyle centuries ago.....and it does result in peace of mind and happiness.

Little trick you can use for baby chickens that i thought of: Use a Ice Tray, and fill it with water. So the baby birds don't fall in it... In fact they can even walk on it. Its a simple and amazing easy trick i would recommend doing if you have (or are getting) baby chicks.

I love that area where you're going to build your chicken coops. You should make yourself a comfy little sitting area back there also to enjoy the shade with a good book!

You and your son are accomplishing amazing things in your new property. I purchased 2 alstrolorp pullets, after reading your book, and although they are not friendly because we didn't raise them, since they were chicks, they are just as you said; quiet and amazing. 4 months without water!? I can't imagine how difficult that must be; however, I admire yours and your son's determination.

Well done I was debt free in Oct 2020 Thanks to my free range hens for part of this and they have paid for 10,000 Sq ft of land in Exuma as well. :) Thumbs UP and thank you for the video.

Becky I built a barn and a chicken coop with free pallets and they turned out so nice with a tin roof. have a look at what people are doing with them so cool and very sturdy. The barn is 12X10 with windows and the coop is 10x10. Lumber is going up so high right now unbelievable.

in your shower you can have a on demand water heater..we have then in our camp shower connected by the hose.Takes propane to heat but very nice.

So agree with your stance in being debt free, we've been debt free for 14 yrs now and will never go back to being in debt again. We did take out a small loan to give enough money to pay for a truck( used, not new) we needed here on our homestead, but only financed it for a year and paid it off in 3 months. We built all of our barns and our shop ourselves, a little at a time as we had the money and the time, still working on remodeling our 1910 farmhouse. We only have one more major project left and it's the bathroom, and we'll be installing a new sewer line, as what is here is cast iron and needs to be updated. I enjoy watching your vlogs, because you are real and truthful, thank you.

You should check out the cattle panel hoop coop. Jeff at Bobblehead Homestead has built 7 of them and I doubt that he spent $200 for all of them together. Of course, lumber prices have skyrocketed, but you should still be able to build two coops for far less than $200.

I’m glad you now have water! It’s a lesson in self sufficiency to manage your life without running water.

Reminds me of my coop, 1 dog run 5' x 5', a repurposed greenhouse frame 4' x 6', and a repurposed closet organizer 3' x 6' wrapped in birdnetting and harware cloth ... for 2 chickens! lol

Thank you for sharing your lovely (and hardworking!) life... Maybe your chickens don't venture far from their temporary coop(s) because there are no hiding places for them in that wide open grass....they would be easy prey for those flying predators. ?? Just a thought, my Bantam flock stays close to the tree and shrub lines; I've actually had a hawk land in tree, very close to my flock... and I live in a large city! Love and light...🌻🌻🌻

I love my debt free house and property. I homestead and also have animals, chickens, great pyrenees and cattle. I don't have any neighbors but I do get visitors though (rabbits deer raccoons and lots of different birds) I wouldn't trade it for anything.

It's the absolute best feeling not to owe anyone and the worry is gone. Yes these still living expenses i.e. car insurance, utilities, etc but they are managed well and they don't charge crazy interest.
