Building Senna's MP4/6 PART 3 McLaren Fujimi 1/20 F1 Scale Model

In the end I was unable to escape the infamous ill-fitting engine cover of this Fujimi kit. I sanded a good amount of the inside cover, but forgot about the monocoque. The gap was closed to around 0.5mm during the test fit but I did not account for the added thickness of the wires and wire bands.
Some tips if you are building this kit:
1.) Sand both the engine cover and monocoque between the cockpit and engine area. Tape a set of wires onto the monocoque to make sure that the cover can close over it. It's going to be a tight fit, especially if you add carbon decals, clear coat and wires so try to account for that. It may or may not work, but it's worth a try.
2.) Widen the 2 slits in the back of the engine cover where the rear wing passes through. It wouldn't fit after multiple coats of paint and clear so I had to spend an hour sanding it to fit. Also the holes in the rear wing endplates need to be made slightly larger, maybe 0.5mm for a better fit after paint and carbon decals.
3.) The front suspension needs to be lowered to have a normal stance. The front suspension arms can be cut anywhere between 1.5 to 2mm. I cut them 2mm and the front end is really low, almost touching the ground so that is probably the absolute max. The mounting points of the lower wishbones can be slightly bent with hot water so they are angled higher to account for the shorter arm.
