I am interested in building this boat I just finished an xp8 for my son. Does the top portion of the boat come with the kit or just the base hull as the video shows.

I'm curious as to why you rolled the boat over before completing the finish work on the hull. Is there a reason for doing it that way?

After we put the deck on, we made a rotisserie between two lumber racks and spun it up on her sides to glass from the chine wrapping the gunwale about 2" on the deck. The boat is light enough for two people to roll/flip without a rotisserie. I wish I had pictures !!!

So not to sound dumb but I assume this is a complete kit for just the boat but you are responsible to find your own outboard motor and it has the capability of holding up to 40hp?????

Hi Justin, The ZipKit is a complete wood parts kit for the hull only. The recommended horsepower is 15 to 40 HP

hey ,if anyone else needs to find out about best wooden fishing boat plans try Joolaim Rudder Replication (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my m8 got cool success with it.
