I've watched hundreds of miniature videos, but I think this may have been the bravest undertaking I've ever watched. Good job!
@littlebylittledollhouseminis
Thank you Mary Kay! I left this one until the end because the idea of trying to build it, terrified me, lol. But once I got started, I found it wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. You just need to take it one step at a time.

@@littlebylittledollhouseminis Much like life. I went back and found the miniature guitar video by Square to Spare. She used thread for the strings which looked way easier. She painted them to look like metal. If you ever do another stinged instrument, (ha! fat chance, right) you might want to try that. And I sure wouldn't want to use pop sickle sticks as she did. Thank goodness you used real wood. I checked out the vid on that sofa bed and god love her, there was no way you could have followed that. Yours was a vast improvement in that regards as well. I've loved the whole series. And the stories are great. Thank you for sharing your family history with us.
@littlebylittledollhouseminis
@@marykayryan7891 I never watched the guitar video of hers but i did watch the violin a few years ago. My Grandpa played the fiddle so I am considering making a fiddle using her tutorial. I never thought of using thread and painting it, 😆. If I decide to do the fiddle, that is exactly what I will do!

I continued to think about your video because it brought back so many memories of dances at the school which the whole family went to, no sitters were needed. Social one step, heel toe polka, square dances and more. Mothers brought lunch to be shared at the intermission. Little ones fell asleep under the benches on their coats. The evening conclude with the singing of God Save The Queen.
@littlebylittledollhouseminis
That was exactly the kind of music my family played. As a kid of 13 or 14 years old, I didn’t have a real appreciation for the Beer Barrel Polka 😂, but I would give anything to hear them all play now! I’m glad it sparked some good memories for you! (PS, I spend many an evening asleep on my coat, under the bench 😊)

I love the banjo, AND the stories!❤ My favorite part of miniaturing is replicating life size items in 1:12 scale! Thanks for sharing!!
@littlebylittledollhouseminis
Thank you! For this project, the story is the whole purpose of the build.😊 Taking a full size item and bringing it down to miniature size can be challenging, but it is the most fun part!

My favorite parts of this project are the absolutely minute tuning knobs and those tiny wire pieces around the banjo head. Your incredible attention to even the smallest of details is inspiring.
@littlebylittledollhouseminis
Thank you Lori! Those wires were a real pain in the, you know what!! But I’m happy with how it turned out. Thank you for always being so kind and so supportive! I always look forward to hearing from you! ❤️

I enjoy hearing your stories of childhood just as much as I enjoy the items and videos you make. I have fond memories of my grandmother as well, and I can remember all the good times I had while being at her house. Musical instruments, for me anyway, are some of the more difficult builds to tackle! All the parts of an instrument are exposed and any boo-boo can be readily seen, making near perfection extremely important. You've made a wonderful banjo and it goes right along with all the elements of the homestead house❤
@littlebylittledollhouseminis
Thank you Kelly. For me the stories are the whole point of the project so I appreciate that others enjoy them too! The banjo was my first attempt at a musical instrument but I still have a fiddle to make. Another subscriber suggested using thread for the strings and I definitely am going to take that advice!

@@littlebylittledollhouseminis thread is a wonderful idea for strings! Something that I've used to emulate tiny string is monofilament 😍 I don't know how fishing line is graded in Canada, but in the U.S. it's graded as "test". I use a 2 or 4 lb (pound) test for things like instrument strings or hanging things and in cases where I want the line/string disguised a bit more. I've also used it when I needed to hang or drape foliage on a pergola or something similar. The drawback to monofilament, however, is that it can melt😢. One brand that doesn't have that problem is Spiderwire because it's made from thread. I thank you for sharing your stories and 😍 your talent and I always look forward to your videos ❤️
@littlebylittledollhouseminis
@@MimmiesMinis-KellyPenny Thank you for that suggestion! My husband is a fisherman so I will definitely have a look in his tackle box!
