Bun B breaks down what real money is and how people carry it. "You have to sound like money and think like money when doing business". Do you want to be famous or do you want to be rich? Because you may not be able to be both.
It's 3 important things I want to maintain. 1. Peace of mind 2. Staying healthy 3. Being financially stable. Not living paycheck to paycheck, having freedom to control my own business and wealth and having property (land).
There's a saying that goes those who don't have money try hard to look as though they have it and those who have money try hard to look as though they don't have it.
Wow you lost. It's never about money. Money is for people who's not rich at heart. So money has to fill the void. And bun p is talking from a wordly prospective not a godly one
"I don't got the bright watch, I got the right watch I don't buy out the bar, I bought the night spot I got the right stock" -Jay Z Hov told yall 16 years ago yall not listening
For those of you saying Jay-Z wears million dollar watches...you'd only know it's a million dollar watch if someone told you it's a million dollar watch. They don't have a bunch of diamonds and gold on them.
Jay doesn’t even buy watches the way we buy watches. He gets his custom made from the factory and never busts them down. That’s a different level of money mentality.
@@Polostar79 facts that man been on a first name basis relationship with the CEO of AP since 97. Ain't no point of putting rinky dink after market bullshit in a watch when you can have them personally commission 1 of 1 pieces for you exclusively.
As a mature black man I wouldn’t underestimate or undermine the tangible value of Fame. The Walton family covets fame inside its circle in order to marry off its offsprings into other prominent families such as the Mars clan Koch Hermes families etc etc To summarize Elon Musk …Fame….outweighs his Buying Power Clothes don’t make a MAN However they give him an excellent start.
Quick story back in 2013 got a contract job with a man from Virginia he wired me the money straight to my bank for me to get to Virginia I was living in ATL . When I get there he looks damn near homeless. This man had a house in Va New Jersey St. Thomas a Maserati RV too much shit to name. We get to a car auction he tells me to go pay for the cars . Gave me a check for 95k cleared immediately. If you saw this man you would offer him spare change. He had multiple businesses and plenty of bread millions. Never judge a book by its cover .
I installed heating and Ac system, when i.tell.the customers who have the Mercedes a2 other fancy cars in there drive way that it will. Cost them10,000 dollar to installed there central heating and AC system the majority of the time they don't have the .funds to get the work done. But when i tell the Chevrolet Owner the same price they aways asked me when can i start working

“If you can look at somebody and tell how much money they got, they aint got no money. - Bun B This is straight facts! Sound and think like money 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💫💫💫💫💫
I had always been a hustler and certainly touched a few dollars in my time. I finally reached a point in the past 5 years where I am comfortable financially. I wouldn't say that I a wealthy but most would consider me to be rich. With that being said, you couldn't pay me to be on Instagram or whatever. I am not famous nor an influencer, therefore showcasing my life would only lead to me being a target. At this point I am constantly cautious about not looking like a meal, I'm from LA and the wolves have been snatching whatever isn't bolted to the floor. Hell even some shit that is bolted down, is coming up missing.
That one watch alone shows how rich he is, but like Bun said…..he meeting with people who really got that loooonnnnngggg money! We make short money then show off wearing bullshit.
One of the best rap bars I ever heard, that I do my best to live by, is: "Give me the money, you can keep the fame, I don't give a f*ck if you know my name, call me paid."
This just my take. 1st. We blessed hearing this. Thank you for putting this up. 2nd. Know your history. Jay did everything bun said not to do, look at 80s and 90s. Jay had to mature and grow. Bun just giving us the cheat code not to waste 20 years following what these fools do and wear. 3. Take off the clown suits. Be yourself and invest your education family and things you love. 4. Treat the richest of the rich and people you think who are poor the same. You never know who is who. 5. If you buying something and you gotta check your acct to see if you can afford it....leave that ish there. Materialism is a trap, stop pocket watching people and just enjoy the time you get to spend alive. Stay blessed and stay humble.
I think you may have misunderstood the trajectory of the argument. There are no lost years. It is either you're making the most of the available opportunity or being crushed by the weight if the moment. The come up involves conspicuous wealth. That is a brand identifier. The mistake is losing sight of the end goal and growth opportunity. You do not get the rapid ascent of Jay without big pimping. Ultimately this conversation is about one particular example of how life can be lived. It masks economic meritocracy as a cover for exploitative relationship and rampant wealth inequality.
ALL OF THIS: " If you buying something and you gotta check your acct to see if you can afford it....leave that ish there. Materialism is a trap, stop pocket watching people and just enjoy the time you get to spend alive" STRAIGHT FACTZ ON FACTZ!!!!!!!!! Materialism is seductive and keeps a massive amount of people in financial bondage.
We gotta push B-High to the top cause he has the best interviews ever!!!! In a week span I’ve heard Bun B and Dallas Austin say shit I’ll never forget!! Keep dropping the knowledge fellas. Thanks B High
Bun spitting Game to these "Yung'un's". What he said about Shaq is interesting & spot on. Year's ago Chris Rock did a special & he said at the time (around 1998 - 2000) that Shaq is RICH but the old white man that signs his paycheck is WEALTHY!!!! He also said Rich is something you can blow with over the summer with a very bad Cocaine habit (see Scott Storch)😲🤦🏽♂️ meanwhile Wealth is something you CAN'T give away!!!🤴🏽
Shaq said it himself.. he is not wealthy but realized he was financially childish when he felt rich because of wealthy people around him. He had to Up his game up and learn how to become wealthy.
@@djinomack357 he still isnt wealthy. The fact hes still doing commercials says it all. The white men writing his checks are wealthy. Chris Rock may not be as rich as Shaq but hes right.
I can agree with quite a bit of what Bun is saying in that most wealthy people around us dont floss and shine, they let there money moves do so. Plus you become less of target staying low key
Great conversation. Regarding people wanting to display their wealth (i.e., ostentation). When civilization evaluates your value and morality...as a human...on the amount of wealth you've accumulated...then "flossing" becomes a rational response. The compulsion to affirm your value increases if you belong to a group NOT widely viewed as valuable.
This is legitimately one of the best things I’ve ever heard a renowned artist say in an interview. Sooooooo many jewels of WISDOM and in line with what Bun B said, you don’t really have anything if you have to go down the inventory of what you have. TRUE wealthy people KNOW what they have, but they don’t have the time to advertise it to everybody because they’re too busy making money.
@@zhivago3633 I don’t personally know any exorbitantly wealthy person. However, I’m basing my opinion on anything else in life: if you truly are who or what you are, then it doesn’t need to be announced at every turn. It’s simply a “if you know, you know” thing.
@@ajthrowback928 I on the other hand know a few and have been around many and I can personally tell you that this is not true. Poor, middle class, or just plain people in the 90% just regurgitate the same cliché talking points I believe to make themselves feel better about not being in the 1%. Really wealthy people don't move in silence, they move in a tone so loud and high our ears can't hear it. They don't live next door to you or I, they spend huge amounts of money they just don't always wear their wealth but that's not even the case all the time. They may be wearing it but we can't even rationalize the cost because it may not appear expensive. I was in someone's closet with suits that in total cost more than houses. They weren't flashy but they ranged from $3k-$10k but because your average person doesn't know and there isn't gucci written on them no one will say bad things about them. Trust me they don't live poor and they waste money all the time. Heck I have seen a $15,000 utility bill from someone's house every month, but for some reason that's not looked at as ignorant.
@@zhivago3633 While I respect and agree with a lot of what you said, the bigger point isn’t whether or not wealthy people live lavish or waste money; the point is they’re not flashy or obvious about it and you even said that yourself. Furthermore, someone who has wealth of money AND wealth of character compared to your average wealthy person who spends as frivolously as you described isn’t going out of their way to prove how much money they have because they recognize money is transient and not the most important thing in the world. Again, if you are who you are, then you don’t need to go out of your way to prove it.
In sales, I’ve heard stories of people going into car dealerships that look like they were homeless and basically ‘testing’ to see what kind of customer service they would get. The person that treated them like they were human, that person would get the sale. Gotta be careful how we treat each other out here👍 If you’re trying to grow, always show respect ✊🏽
Jay only validates what my elders taught me and what I've been trying to teach youngbloods with ears to hear. It's really simple. You can't buy real swagger. You can have it, develope it or acquire it but you can't buy it. When you put yourself together right, those who are put together right too will see you AND hear you without you showing anything to anyone.
Much luv too bun. The only thing I don't understand is nowadays everyone is so focused on wealth and not health who cares about how much money a person has ? It wasn't meant for everyone to be rich, we where not put here to see who can make the most money. How many people you can help means so much more then any dollar you can ever make in your life time on earth and I don't mean just giving them money.
I believe Health is Wealth but you still need money to make sure you can keep your health up. Nobody wants to see a doctor bill they can't afford to pay because health insurance doesn't cover everything.
@@Caveman7091 So are you saying you have to be wealthy to afford health insurance? Because that wasn't the point that I was trying to make and I'm pretty Steve Jobs had health insurance. One point i was making was that you don't have to be wealthy to survive, so why put all of your energy into trying to become wealthy or rich? I don't believe that that's what every human being was put here to do. I do believe that life is much bigger then trying to become wealthy or rich in my opinion
Not anymore! I can attest that once you get money (I’m not as wealthy as Jay-Z but…) you tend not to be enamored with material things “as much”…you start to focus on other things. More important things to do with your money. Also; trust me - Jay spends money but it’s probably on things that “appreciate” in value like art.
"I’m not as wealthy as Jay-Z" you say that like you somewhere in his ballpark "not as" N GGA YOU NO WHERE NEAR JAY-Z'S WEALTH SO JUST SAY "IM NOT WEALTHY BUT..... SMH F CKING CLOWN LOL
Someone lied to you guys. Jay has enough money to buy what he likes and still invest. He won't just rock any designers because that's an endorsement. You'd be surprised about how much his none expensive chlothes cost.
@@taharqa332 you not anywhere near wealthy as Hov tho. He wasn’t lying to you. Cut that single mama behavior out. When you wrong, you wrong. Nobody gotta trust you about what Jay did with his money. Talk about what YOU do with your money.
True but that's bc Jay z has already been there and done that. He's already had the money to flex and he did and so now he's gotten it out of his system. As for the rest of us... That may not have experienced that pleasure yet...we just might when given the opportunity as well.
but did he **truly** get it out his system? true, he might not be blatantly screaming: "yeah i got 10 benzes", but he still lives lavishly in multi-million dollar penthouses, owns million-dollar yachts, wears 6-figure watches, has $1000 shoes that his rich neighbors still admire. in a way he's still always flexing, but he does it in a way that only his rich friends appreciate, so thats probably who he flexes for, not poor people. People in his echelon can look at him and tell he got on a Gucci suit without needing to see a logo, because they're around Gucci so much, they know the deal. If he truly got it out his system, he wouldn't need all this lavish shit at all & he'd save money on unnecessary stuff.
This is the problem. You are still over here arguing why you should be able to wear expensive jewelry and clothes. If you get robbed in the street you can only be mad at yourself. Thats a hood mentality to lie to the world that you are richer than you are. Your gucci is only impressive to broke people and the people that are trying to rob you. Keep thinking its sweet wearing expensive things, you may find out the hard way. You can look good with no name brands.
He’s telling the truth. I picked up a peach cobbler in third ward and ask the guy standing in front if they were open. I had to do a triple take before I realized it was him. Cool dude that one.
Thats what happens after you have real money for a while. Eventually you realize you dont need to flash to confirm your success. Nothing wrong with it but its a healthy thing for people who are self made and came from nothing. Props to anyone who made it up the social/economic ladder. 💯
I've always loved Bun B. He's always been very knowledgeable and one of those individuals whenever you hear speaks he will teach you something. Preach on Mr. B!
