I think Wayne not being able to curse made him a monster I think he was forced to be more creative all those years and when the leash was off him he elevated and became much more creative with metaphors and so on…
@@SAINT_PATRICK everything up to the Carter 1, he was just decent. Had good verses and features but until he put the label on his back he wasn’t top dog at cash money
If y'all listened to "Sorry 4 Tha Wait 2" and that track called "Hollyweazy" from Lil Wayne, he got a line at the end of it saying, "Grew up on Bun B, Pimp C was my tutor" which is my favorite line from that song! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
@@GmoneyGcode right lol dude was recording when they told him carter 3 did a mill in one week..not to mention he did green screen videos days before he went to prison for artists who wanted videos to the songs he was on and they put them out while he was away.
When u think about it ...... Bun B made Lil Wayne!! Consider Wayne whole personality , he was the first "u at the club, I'm in the studio" rapper. Niggas was celebrating album sales, Wayne sell a half a million in a week and drop three mixtapes in 8 months! The man called himself a alien, a martian, a goblin for a reason, he wasn't like no other rapper. And the whole Young Money team, nigga said "let him hang with his homies in the studio, but they gotta rap, not good but they gotta rap." Brooooooo !! I'm listening B High
Wayne was good but i dont see how he was the best rapper in the room at 14 when most people will tell you BG was the best at the time on cash money. Lol lil wayne at the time IMO was a better lil turk and this is coming from someone who was a big lil wayne BEFORE the carter (block is hot, lights out,500 degreez)
Even as a white man who is biased towards Eminem I can’t be mad at anybody that say Lil Wayne is the goat. I’m 38 right now and Wayne was poppin on a whole nother level in the late 90s all the way to like 2010. Easily a top 3 rap artist and a TRUE LEGEND! 😎
Em great but as a hip hop head Wayne is alien level … great rappers like Jay z drop 2 to 3 punchlines a verse … Eminem does two to 3 per verse … Wayne does one every single line on every single song … it’s a redundant convo for me … Wayne is the most skilled rapper that ever done it
@@s4mnblack my argument about Wayne being the best is the fact that he appeals way more to the hip hop fanbase in general better Eminem doesn’t appeal to as many that are fans of rap and it’s culture.. it’s mostly because of what Eminem raps about and the concepts he raps about. He’s still as lyrically gifted as Wayne but his topics are often times suspect af 😣
Wayne OWNED the game for a solid 4-5 year period like no one has ever seen and probably won’t see again. He not only changed the game, but he brought Drake and Nicki to the scene. Both of them are top of the 2010s in terms of superstardom. Wayne is the 🐐
@@previnjohn8584 Wayne shifted the frequency in rap … I think you can have milestone in rap history - The originators in NY parks … then the shift to recording albums with early east coast crews, then the superstars (Run DMC, LL) Arrival of West Coast - NWA, Dre, NY golden era and rivalry with 2Pac West coast (Nas, Big, Mobb deep, Wutang etc), Eminem, emergence of the south, and definitely the birth of the post golden era of which the father of that entire thing and originator of thousands of copycats is Lil Wayne. No one rapped like him for years … killer line after killer line, verse after verse non stop .. work ethic through the roof … skills like never seen before, mixtape after mixtape giving fire away for basically free … and add into it the style and energy … he is without a doubt one of the Top 5 rappers of all time. Skill wise there is not one rapper including Eminem that would go up agains weezy and not get bbqd… the only reason for me why he ain’t top 1 .. is because of his lack of variety in subject matter, Similar to Eminem. But weezy definitely a better rapper than Eminem every single day and 15 sundays too
Idk… Wayne said from his own mouth that when he colabs with anyone, Drake is the ONLY one he edits his versus for before he sends it in. Remember, Wayne is to Drake what Bun B was to him. Let that shyt sink in…..
Bun kept it 1000 on telling how the game went from then til now totally different ballgame. 🔥ass interview need alot more of those. B high great work my guy 💪🏿
I'm always so glad to hear Bun speak on the history of Southern rap tunes. Remember them performing at Strawberry's in Lafayette, LA and going to PAT and Houston to see them...good times. Forever grateful for what U and Pimp brought to the Gulf Coast
Saw Jay-Z perform in Copa's(Miami Moon). We used to have all kinds of concerts for Crawfish fest, Greek Show weekend, Mardi Gras...Troy D had a birthday party at least twice a month with a concert at Strawberry's. Haven't been to a club until u've sat in a line for an hour to get into the parking lot and pay $50 to get into that hot box lol
Bun was all over that Big Tymers How u luv that album. He right Wayne was a star in the making back then. He used to make sound effects when he rapped and had a cold flow even then
*Bun B telling the truth! The SOUTH HAS ALWAYS BEEN GREATER far as for black people making money in modern days. We actually laugh at people up north living in 600 square ft* 😂😂😂
Lol da fuq are you talking about?? All he said was its a lot of blk folks in the south to make money off eachother. Your jealous ass make it personal about living space, we all have family that live in the south, dont even know where you going with that. Blk ppl BEEN getting money up north, we got poor ppl just like yall do
@@weinaracewarandslaverystar3408 Looky here square you better watch how you type to me. SHOW ME ONE SENTENCE WHERE I'M JEALOUS??? 😂😂😂 You sensitive goofy
Yo. B High gives the best interviews. Hands down, he allows the artist time to speak and expand on the answer. Shout out to Bun B, awesome insight and stories that aren’t heard. RIP Pimp C. I never really f’ed with Vlad. Awesome interviews.
So the logic that Wayne can't be one of the greatest is because bun-b taught him some things when he was 14? Horrible logic. That's like saying you can't be a great doctor because you went to medical school.
Its crazy how no matter how big you are everyone always learned something from someone. The part when Bun B was talking about Wayne when he said “Keep him in the studio, if he wants to see a girl, come to the studio, play madden, come to the studio” Birdman just said that in his last interview, never knew he took Bun’s advice. And that along made Lil Wayne one of the best rappers to ever pick up a microphone.
Congrats on hitting 200K subscribers Bun B is telling the truth about rappers hitting the road in a van and promoting/getting a bag I grew up in the (Mississippi) Delta and remember a white van pulled up to us at an apartment complex with MC Breed (RIP) and other artists for a show at a local show
Bun gives me chills everytime he explains this i was a teenager in the south and as a man I work in groves tx today 3miles from where pimp is buried i smoke a blunt 3times a week near pimps grave...RIP Pimp C..fly high bro...keep it trill 💯 bun
Damn that's why wayne still be in the studio to this day lmao he feels weird outside the studio you planned worked and he became the best mc but he missed out on tech and social media lmao
The problem with the single game is longevity. Eventually (and these days, with the number of new artists popping up, sooner than later) those "hot" singles are gonna dry up and someone else is gonna take the reins. What will they have left? No big legacy, no dope albums, no discography for future generations to discover, no different ways for future earnings when nostalgia kicks in for your fanbase. Albums aren't redundant. They are essential if you are in music FOR MUSIC, and not to make a quick buck.
This 2021 almost 2022 the age of independent artists and streaming albums are a thing of the past. Lets be real the only reason that albums ever got created in the first place is because if your going to buy a record, cassette, or cd, your not going to buy it if there is only 1 song on it so the artists had to fill up the entire thing to sell it. It's always been about making a quick buck especially when the labels are running things. Albums are just a way to sell a group of songs because there was no way to sell individual songs. Now we don't need that shit no more and like Bun B was talking about now you can make more money off 1 song then ever and pretty soon nobody will make albums anymore it's pointless when people only gonna stream that 1 hit song that they like and not listen to the other fillers you made...
@@PHPMuzik money will always compromise art, you cant have 1 without the other, artists will always have to put out a good body of work to make the money
@@levelupmediadesign687 People don't wanna hear that because then they won't be able to hate on other people niggas just tryna hold onto they reason to hate
This is a great interview. It's good to see an OG that's like your uncle celebrating your success and not hating and still giving you game for you to have longevity.
B High my brother this is like some incredible shit you have. I have to watch every interview you drop more than once just to pick up all the jewels being dropped...
UGK is arguably one of the best duos next to Ball and G. Pimp C was a very talented, he could rap, sing, produce and play instruments. Jazze Pha said Pimp C and Sleepy Brown and his self was thinking of making a album together because they all had the same talents.
Wanna kno y b high is the best doin it? Cuz he asks the questions & let the guests answer & NEVER talks about himself!!!!! A true legend not jus n the A but n the world of hip hop media, media period tbh…
I go on budden pod n others as soon as I try promoting my demo they delete my comment, thank you guys for letting it stay on, shows great character. Thank you
@B High ATL... ... You got it, and had it for the minute brother. Nothing but legends. Still waiting to see guys from Orlando. Mook Boy, Tonii Boi, Six pack (Grill'd Up Records.), Etc... ... Nothing but love from #CountdiwnCounty.
Hold up big bruh, Just because bun b gave em game st 14 early on, you can't take away what he accomplished from there on !!! WAYNE IS ONE OF THE GREATEST TO EVER DO IT
B.G "It's all on U vol 1" Retaliation feat Juvenile and Bun B is the hardest verse Bun did 4 Cash Money in the early days! Straight wrecked that bitch!
