Thank You Lorraine, yes we are ok, my daughter and her family have Covid so they are in isolation. I dropped some cooked meals off at their front door, to help them get through the week and they had groceries delivered, they are sick like a bad flu and unfortunately have probably contracted it through work. They are both vaccinated and very careful but being young fit and healthy is obviously no safeguard against this rotten virus. Richo wanted me to drop the box of food at their letterbox but I took it down the driveway and left it on the front path. They were all wearing masks in the house and waved at me through the window. My daughter was very good to me when I was in hospital recently and wouldnt let me do anything when I was released and took me to her home to care for me. The only thing I could do for her was drop some meals and soup, fresh home grown lemons and pumpkins to her and keep my distance. I didn’t even think to make her this cheesecake, I’m sure she would enjoyed it. They a real outdoorsy people, being cooped up in such good weather must be very difficult for them. Hope your family are keeping well and safe from this dreaded virus. Hope you like your cheesecake.;-))

@@CheekysKitchen omg I’m so so so sorry your family is going through this horrible ordeal, I’ve had quite a few friends going through the same thing & they are all vaccinated & boostered, our beautiful little young man got his first jab on Friday his affects were sore arm & bad headache I’m so grateful that’s all he got. We are extremely well, thank you for asking 💗I had my eyes done Tuesday this week will be two weeks ago & healing nicely, I could just imagine how you & RICHO must be feeling about your daughter & family especially you CHEEKYCHOPS my daughter is my world & it would just kill me if anything bad happened to her. But I’m sure they are going to be stronger going through this dreadful time TOGETHER! & I sure do know how you must have felt not being able to help her in the same way she helped you, it would be heartbreaking, but it’s for the best & she would deeply understand, is she the one I’ve seen in your videos? I sure do wish there would be a total end to this horrible virus & as soon as possible but looks like we are going to be dealing with it for some time yet. I put it down to careless arrogant people & air conditioning (that’s my view) and yes this virus definitely has no boundaries at all. I will be wishing & praying 🙏 everyone will recover very soon. Sending loads of healing vibes to them all ❤️♥️💗💕💝💝💝🙏🙏🙏 Are you able to see them again & make them the cheesecake 💝 Lives are really being put through the wringer the last 2 years & it’s not easing up so be sure you & RICHO stay safe & very healthy & put yourselves in a big bubble before going close to anyone at the shops. please keep me updated & try not to worry too much ❤️

Thank you for your very kind words Lorraine. Yes my daughter and grand daughter have both appeared in my videos. They both love to cook and their latest thing is collecting rocks and painting them and taking them back to the beach. Apparently decorating pebbles and swapping them and moving them from place to place is a ‘thing’ who knew? lol not me. Well the bathroom is just about finished. The door has been painted and will be rehung when the paint is completely dry. I bought a glass topped vanity off marketplace with fancy tap with a glass handle. It proved to be a bit of a challenge installing it but I’m very pleased with it. The thing is so heavy and we have had to manhandle it in and out more times than I care to count. We replaced the ceiling, (the previous owners had a thing about corrugated iron features, go figure) new shower, with a mixer tap and handheld shower rose , new bath, toilet and vanity, tiled the floor and walls to the ceiling, the only thing original was the window lol. My Little mouse was due to have her Covid vax last week now she has to wait a few weeks before she can get it. I’m glad your young fellow has been vaccinated, almost all of the people in Queensland who have died or been badly affected were not protected. I simply don’t understand failing to protect yourself from something that has the potential to kill or or severely affect your quality of life forever. I shop in bulk and have been largely unaffected by grocery shortages, I grew up on a farm, a long way from town so I got into the habit of shopping big and less often. During isolation I have been able to keep friends , neighbours and family in supply of some of the stuff that left the shelves in the supermarkets early. In fact I’m the past I have been able to give fruit and veges plus sausages, a frozen chicken, eggs, sugar and herbs to neighbours who have run out of unusual things mid recipe lol. Richo has a shed full of just about every tool you could imagine and all of our neighbours frequently borrow things to finish jobs when they have run short of hardware items. Even my late neighbour who was a builder, said we had more stock than Bunnings lol. I didn’t know you had your eyes done…. What does that mean? Artificial Lenses? Cataracts? I hope you continue to have improvements in that department. I wear glasses and to cut in when painting over my head I have to look through the bottom half of my glasses and I just about need a flip top head to see what I’m doing. Plus they have been fogging up in the heat and now have paint on them from slipping down my nose and getting pushed back with painty hands grr 😎🎨 Keep staying safe and smart, we are our own best defence against this invisible (until it’s too late) infection. It’s up to us to be sensible and protect ourselves and our loved ones. So far we have bought a fold down picnic table, a sink, stove and a power outlet for our van. I bought a fridge off eBay but the seller was a scammer so I’m getting my money back. I opted for it to be delivered, thinking that was the safest option and he gave me a valid tracking number and tried to get me to make a bank deposit (after it was already paid for) and get an eBay refund with a discount. Some malarkey about having to wait for eBay to pay him before he could ship it but already had supplied a tracking number. So at this stage I’m still Looking for a fridge. I like to have all the bits on hand before we start fitting it out in case there is a change of plans mid build . Will keep you posted, I thought when it was done I would like to return tonToowoomba and have a better look around. I learnt this week it is Australia’s second largest inland city, I’m sure there’s lots to see and the gardens are beautiful. There is also a lovely RU-vid friend near there I would love to meet 😉.

My dear Lorraine, where do I start. The family is recovering well. I hope to catch up with them soon. I’m glad you enjoyed the cheese and steak pie and how about that cheesecake bit decadent not for every day but certainly delicious and it keeps really well in the fridge. I have to admit I’m a bit bamboozled by you talking about painting I was actually talking about painting walls are set sounds to me like you might be a bit of an artist. I tried to find you on the Facebook page because Richo says I can’t send a message unless I’m actually friends on Facebook and I saw one photo of a flower Power person with your name and another one with a very pretty lake in the in the photo was well arm it might help if you can tell me is Pete a pilot? I don’t really want to send friend request of two random people they might think I’m a pest. We are collecting bits and pieces for our little motorhome we already have an a van cruise liner, that’s only new to our family and we really really enjoy it but with Covid we haven’t really had much of a chance to use it. Where do you have this little poly camper that we travelled around Central Australia RU-vid friend after a couple of months in the middle of winter 2 to 3 years ago before Covid anyway and we just got a high top sprinter mid will base and we’re going to deck it out. We previously decked out an ex-ambulance Mercedes which is our current Mercedes sprinter its only a low roof and not very comfortable to travel in. This will be the fourth campervan that we have actually decked out we also did a houseboat once and Richo has a yacht that he’s been doing for ever. By the way I always scrape all the yummy cheesecake filling off the side of the baking paper as well waste not want not. Today we are finishing some plastering and some painting and cleaning out sliding door tracks ready to vacate this house. It’s been a major job but the bathroom is finally finished and we are really happy with the result I was lucky to sell a bath tub today and hopefully the old vanity will go tomorrow. Hope you’re keeping safe and well and your eye op is going as you hoped. I’m really intrigued about your painting though, do tell! Hope you’re having a great weekend thanks for the perfect feedback and I’m delighted you enjoyed these couple of recipes that we shared.;-))

Oh Lucy this is so easy to make, you could halve the recipe to make a smaller version, which be more economical for less serves. We are in serious lockdown at the moment, no visitors or visiting. This Delta strain of the virus 🦠 is really taking its toll on our population, first responders and business owners. I made this cake and we delivered some to our elderly widowed neighbour, she must be very lonely at the moment. Normally her little grandsons come for a visit but no one is allowed that freedom At the moment. It’s such a shame that a few careless selfish people have ignored the health directives and spread the virus far and wide. Some of our hospitals are unable to cope with the urgent case surge family milestone events can’t be celebrated and the few that have flouted the rules have caused cluster outbreaks all over the country. I’ll just keep staying home cooking and spring cleaning. We joke that if I just work on my urgent tasks I will need to live to 120 years of age just to catch up lol. Keep well and safe, my friend, this latest turn of events is infecting all ages, particularly children and young adults, although most of the fatalities so far, during this outbreak, have been the elderly. So very sad for the families and loved ones impacted by this disease. At least we can still enjoy company over the internet and have interaction with the outside world both here and overseas. I wish I could share this cheesecake with you, nothing would give me more pleasure.🙏🏻😋😊

Thank you Lucy, lots of people aren’t coping very well with the isolation and social inconvenience. We have been lucky enough to have a nice yard to exercise in, my heart goes out to all the families with children cooped up in apartments and heavily populated areas being forced to do home schooling. It must be so difficult for the young ones in lock down. Our state is in lockdown for another 11 days at this stage with the distinct possibility of further health directives. We are getting some much needed jobs done around the house so we are keeping busy but we have each other for company, people living on their own must be getting terribly lonely. I hope you have some company to keep you socially connected. You have such a kind heart, worrying about us on the other side of the world when your country has been faced with similar problems , for a longer period of time. We watch the news with horror of the families being devastated by this current situation. I can’t imagine how hard it must be to watch your loved ones slip away and there is nothing you can do to help them.🙏🏻

O my 🤤 drool. Hi Cheekyricho. This recipe is so simple for a baked cheesecake. I haven't made any style of cheesecake in a Wombats age. I guess that's because I wouldn't eat more than a slice or two. The other day I did make a packet mix GF double choc chip brownie with a good handful of Christmas cake mixed fruit thrown in. Served up warm with a dollop of dairy free coconut coffee icecream. Thanks for this recipe. I'll add it to the "Roundtoit" 👍😀

Gee John , the oldest living wombat was 32 years of age, that’s long time between cheesecakes lol🤣😂 You know sometimes I make half a packet mix, I don’t worry about half eggs I just round them up to the nearest one. Then I have a mix that is a handy size for an impromptu morning tea, for a couple and I cook them in a pie maker. Eating them in less time than it takes to heat an oven up. Your double choc chip brownie with a pimping of mixed fruit add for good measure sounds decadent. I reckon warm with some microwave custard would be a great winter pudding. Hang on a minute, there’s another great recipe suggestion for me to try for dessert tonight. You’re a champ John thanks for the fab feedback.;-))

@@CheekysKitchen No worries, I hope that works for you. That wombat wasn't Fatso from ACP?? Actually I removed 4 Tbs of dry mixture so they'd be extra moist but still with a crusty edge. I'll keep that in mind about using only half and the pie maker with LL custard... Another brilliant tip from Cheekyricho.. Thanks.

I actually got that question in a trivia quiz we won on a cruise ship. Wasn’t Fatso but Patrick an orphan who was hand reared at a wildlife park in Ballarat. He was also known as Fat Pat from Ballarat lol Didn’t do the Christmas Brownie tonight, a neighbour gave us a pawpaw from her tree so we had that with home made vanilla bean icecream. That followed a prawn cocktail with homemade seafood dressing, an air fried chicken Kiev, with chips and coleslaws I personally believe the world would be a sadder place without hot potato chips. I know carb central but they are my downfall. Got some crispy light vegetarian Lentil a patties or fritters coming this week. OmGoodness they are so Morrish, I made twenty of them and we had them for lunch with some fresh tomato salsa, not all in one sitting but there was some serious self restraint involved. Probably my favourite way to eat lentils so far. Say John, what is your all time favourite meal? I’d love to cook it In fact I might even, make a bit of a game out of cooking a dinner on my channel for everyone in locked down . I think that’d be fun🤔🤗
@johndavis7944
@johndavis7944 3 года назад
@@CheekysKitchen It must've been a very sad day when Fat Pat of Ballarat passed away. That's quite some trivia question. I'm not a fan of fresh pawpaw....I just don't seem to enjoy it as much as the tinned stuff. Maybe because the flavour has mellowed 🤔. Prawn cocktail??? O How 80's..😂 Did you line the cocktail glass with a crisp lettuce leaf? I would always roll and eat the leaf with a bit of seafood sauce. Sometimes it was better than the prawns 😖. Aren't Kiev's a great culinary delight. I had chips with dinner too. I chipped a few Royal Reds skin on in the ninja foodi then drowned them in gravy made from the leftover juices of a pressure cooked marinated chook a couple of nights back. Hot Chips make the world go round in so many ways.. and who didn't like a Hot Chip butty 🤤. The slaw sounds wonderful, something I really enjoy without the bloody celery. I like it finely grated rather than chunky. I have fond memories of bbq steak and slaw sandwiches at the farm field days. Sauce, slaw and steak juice running down my hand while the other clutched a tinnie or a coke on TAFE days. Those lentil veg patties sound great. It's been a while since I last had lentils. On the odd occasion I'd make bean and lentil burgers.. Fart fodder 🤫. I'll be looking forward to seeing you make them 👍.

@@CheekysKitchen Oops I wasn't finished but my finger thought I was. My favourite meal... Now that's a trivia question...! It's hard to put finger on just one, but saying that, it would be something simple from my childhood that I still have now. Now let me see...🔮 I really enjoy a pork scotch fillet and beans... Baked beans in a smokey ham sauce is a favourite. But it would be curried sausages, or nice plump rissoles, mash and greens that I cook more of than anything else. When lamb cutlets were cheap, I mean .25 cents each a long time ago, mum would crumb them and serve with mash potatoes and steamed green beans. Tomato sauce of course. I do like my homemade sausage rolls and meat pies. Dessert is anything that stumbles out of the "Black Forest".. My favourite birthday cake. Thank you Cheekyricho for thinking of me, I'm rather chuffed 😊 about that. I hope you can concoct something from my many favorites. Whatever you decide, I'll be happy with. 😘

Yes you can! Just use the Butterfly Whisk attachment, only use room temperature ingredients and don't exceed speed 3.The Thermomix will ensure a very smooth and fast result, which pours easily from the Jug. We have a couple of Thermomix recipes on our channel but we have around 500 thermochef recipes uploaded which are basically interchangeable. Hope that helps and thanks for watching.
