A kind and caring person who's had his hopes and dreams shattered before his eyes is far more scary and powerful than he who walks the path of darkness willingly.
"Why? Why must you be so cruel and terrible? You have sent thousands of innocents to their deaths!" *"THETSAVERICHALEXEIDEMANDSPURITYANDHISLOYALSERVANTSWILLOBEYHISCOMMAND."*
Honestly, I see the song as a representation of how the Union rises again It starts out sad, representing the bleak reality of the Russian Anarchy, but slowly it became more hopeful, more upbeat, until it became a triumphant sound, signifying the rise of a new Union, one that genuinely cares for all
My take is this is some more hopeful post-Midnight warlord (Artomonov? New Tomsk? Altay?) unearthing the ruins of Buryatia and what could have been, the nation gradually and cautiously coming back together after dcades of war, humiliation and self-extermination. Russia as we know it is lost, but her people are not.
Eh, I mean, Isn't that always what the Soviet Union does? They start (or restart) sad and slowly get stronger (once again), They repeat... Till 1991, till freedom rises.
I like to imagine the Sablin of this univers was kind and go down the libertarian path. But after uniting the far east his dream.of a better world was crushed by an another warlord supported by the OFN. Despite his humanist vision of warfare the other side wasn't has regarding toward the use of weapons such as napalm or carpet bombing. In the ensuing chaos after the fall of his soviet republic he witness the suffering of his people and learn about the death of his pregnant wife (because more angst is better of course). Then he pretty much snapped. He was still kind toward the people and didn't go full autoritarian on them. But he understand that people won't enjoy peace and prosperity as long as there evil people leading countries like Germany, Japan or the United States who simply look for world domination. So Sablin convince his people to give all they can to defend their homes and their lifes. After successfully conquered all the russian wastedland he then set his eyes on Germania. While this Sablin don't hate commons germans, japaneses or americans people/soldiers and even treat POWs with respect he know he will have to kill a lot of them to win the 'one last deadly battle' as said in the song the 'Red Army is the strongest'. So pretty much put Sablin as a libertarian socialist (people can decide for themselves, Freedom for all etc...) but with Black League elements (pretty much burn Germany, Japan and the US) ,not of sheer hate but to set the world a new and establish world peace
@@MojaveDrifter yes ! And i just think to an another element. Sablin's mental health/hope. If this value is positive throught events or focus at the end he will create a world wide soviet republic were after all this suffering people don't want an another war to kill each others for random leaders and ideology. So the world is slowy rebuild and despite the grim present and near future the horizon is bright. Brighter than it was for a long time. Or if this value is negative then we have a world were the Red Army always found new enemies (after the defeat of the major power came the invasion of what remains of the minor like India or Canada). Until the Soviet people fall under paranoïa and start killing each others because of this fear of the next invaders. Some want even to stop/kill Sablin because in their eyes he simply take the place of the old major power. Should the player as Sablin's loyalist won this civil war we get an ending were there is nothing left and the Earth is deeply poisoned by the massive use of chemicals weapons, nukes and others horror of this kind. In the end Sablin has acheived what he wanted. To end the suffering of people. Since most humans are dead then they can't suffer anymore. He had even killed what remained of his surrounding (government, high command... etc) himself as well as everyone he met toward his final destination (not that he found many people on his way as a results of WW3 and the ensuing civil war). He then stand in front of 3 tombs. One for his wife. One for his unborn kid. One for him. So he simply lay himself in the bottom of his tomb and wait. As the siberian snow slowy fall on him he wait. He wait for his suffering to end. And when at the end he close his eyes with the feeling he will never open them again, for the first time since several years, he feel at peace. Meanwhile, just like the 'Radio silcence' ending of Tarborisky, the whole world end up at 'peace'. And as leader we have 'peace' with a little 'biography' like any leaders. ''For the first time mankind no longer feel hunger, sorrow or pain. All mankind know now is comfort, calm and peace. For in the arms of the Grim Reaper we are all equals'' _Super Event about thks ending while the Buryat lullaby start playing_
"The world deserves an ultimatum, a great equalizer of all. Only when everything is meaningless, truly everything can finally become equal." ~ Gamer Sablin, circa 1974
Siberia has always fascinated me. I'd love to visit cities like Yakutsk, Tomsk, Krasnojarsk, or even Čita or Irkutsk, they just look so cool (plus, I love cold places, so there's that.). Anyways, song slaps as all hell like always Ayden. Might I suggest you do a remix of Freie Deutsche Jugend by IFA Wartburg, If you aren't planning on doing it already?
I may be wrong, but it seems to me that Varshavyanka fits even better into the lullaby format. But in any case, thank you very much for another wonderful composition)
Okay but I love the (probably unintentional) touch of the snare(?)(forgive my severe lack of musical lingo knowledge 😭) that starts at 1:03 sounding like gunshots, feels "fitting" for Gamer Sablin
"Russia's last unification war was about to happen. There was only 2 factions, 2 sides left. Vyatka's Vladimir III and Buryatia's Sablin. When they plunged into the last war of unification, thats when the Germans striked. Whites and the Red's were fighting along side each other. Just to stop the German Eagle. They were fighting a hard war but the succesfully pushed till Warsaw. Thats when the Burgundy lauched the nukes everywhere. America, Japan, Germany and the Russian factions all launched their nukes and the world was gone. This photo was taken in Buryat after the nuclear retaliation."
Doesn't seem to me like a dark/evil version of Sablin. To me, it's more like Sablin (or more realistically his ideology, regardless of whether or not he's alive) impossibly prevailing against the schizophrenic nonsense that has taken a hold of Russia after Taboritsky's midnight, with the main refrain swelling at 1:47 after a long and grim buildup -- like a flame long thought extinguished, flickering triumphantly back to life to conquer the darkness I am also drunk and may be posting cringe
