If I had a dollar for every time I’ve seen someone say that comment, I’d have a fuckin’ private jet on 24hr standby. Come up with something original instead of posting that overused comment.
They run good stock! My 02 Z28 is as it left the factory, for now with 97,000 on the clock. Got 5.3 heads, an underdrive pulley, some headers, and a tune in her future. Can't wait till spring!!!
my old 97 g2 z28 woupd go 175 and still have 3000 rpm to pull, shit is sketchy scary going that fast in these fbodys,i havd full suspension and sub frame and it still was a scary raw beast, keeping enjoying that thing man im glad there are fbody guys around🙂
He found that secret final gear?!?! Lol. It took me taking on a stretched fork crotch rocket on a long and empty road to FINALLY find that damn gear, lol.
The car runs perfect still today. I have since tuned it on e85, it has a little over 100k miles and now with a plate kit and maximizer 5. I plan on driving it till the 4l60 or the rear end gives then rebuild when the time comes. But as it is now its still a very reliable car.
Its nice of course, but I Dont know if I would call it impressive. Expected is more like it i think. Who in their right mind would be surprised a z28 can do 155mph indicated?
@@natemcdevitt9384 for my car oddly enough it’s about 3/8 of a tank. It’s high enough where the fuel pump doesn’t want to pull any junk into the fuel pump but at the same time low enough where it doesn’t weigh too much. Just cleaner fuel overall. The car has a 14 gallon tank
Man does that bring back memories with my 67 442 buried that speedometer watched it come off 120 and starting back to 0 I swear if I wouldvr hit a fly wrong I wouldve been done lol 😆
Cool story bro, the car is speed limited to 113 and the motor would be screaming at 4700-5000 rpm getting about four miles to the gallon. 3100 is solid motor but not the 4t60E, you were doing 80 and that's OK.
@ James Costello Nope. Unless the American ones were really pussified they were governed at 120. It was 196km/h on my ‘89 and I remember it because it had a digital readout. Engine didn’t matter.. she loved to rev to 6000. Transmission wasn’t a Ford or Dodge.. was just the solid hydramatic folded in half with a chain and an overdrive. If I knew it was just a bicycle chain I would have never done all those neutral drops but she never let me down. We’d do prairie roads for hours topped out. Surprised we didn’t wind up dead or in jail. Only bad thing about the car was the fuel pump, the ignition coils, and of course the typical GM brakes where the rotors would warp just looking at them wrong. I only got rid of it because I figured it should have been scrapped by then. It was one of the best cars I ever had.
@@Bartonovich52 oooh when you say 120, you meant km per hour and not miles per hour. That makes perfect sense and now you're not someone blowing smoke on the internet to sound like a real "cool guy".
@@Thors_Garage oh I thought you were trying to say it dropped fast and I was thinking maybe I'm looking at the wrong gauge but it looks right. I was scared he started off next to empty but he lived somehow
He probably covered around a mile. Even if he was sucking 1 mpg you wouldn't notice a drop in that time. But it wouldn't be pulling close to that much fuel.
It's cause the gauge moves around because the fuel pump is a bobber. I have a 97 z28 and depending if my car is on an incline, decline whatever the guage moves around the whole time I drive lol
I passed a Spyder Eclipse that wouldn't leave me alone in a decent turn on Highway 400 in Chatsworth, GA. The body felt like it was about to tip for sure but the rest or the car stuck like fuckin glue. Maybe not the best idea but they needed to know. I had a GT Eclipse and I loved my GT Mustang which ran great but that old Z28 was raw power on another level. I dropped it in 3rd on 225 going from Calhoun to Chatsworth and yanked to hard jumping into the passing lane so it ripped the right rear tire completely from the rim and I still passed like 5 cars n a semi before I realized the extent of the damage and pulled off the road. Man, I've done some super stupid shit. Nice car though ...
Proud to say my 2000 Z28 can still do this at 231k miles on the original engine and transmission. Have only replaced the radiator, water pump and fuel pump at 210k miles.
@No No 150mph indicated isnt that fast, its very possible, no expected. My 2.0 liter diesel hatchback did those speeds without breaking a sweat. In fact, it did over 155 mph on gps even...
@No No So the one who made the comment is 12? Is that what you are saying? Ok, I guess its possible he/she does even though they are 12 (How do you know that?), but unlikely, yes maybe.
I had a 2000 SS Camaro LS 1 Six Speed. It was very fast. However anything over 120mph the great end of the car would get extremely light and squirrelly. I hope this was in a dino?
