Laura, There is the saying that you should not mix business with friendship. This is a very common story it's sad to say. The story of this woman is a lesson for everyone.

My BFF of 30 + years ended up being solely focused on money! I didn't sell her SO my Dad's vintage truck right after my Mom passed and she dropped me! The story is more involved, but that is the short version. Sad but I am better off.

What a sad, incredible story! Are there really people who would do this? Sounds like a Lifetime movie...or maybe too trusting of new friends and when facing a serious illness that's all she focused on. Hope she is better & moving on.

I know! I told her that she needs to right a book. I really admire how she’s fought back. It’s just sad that there are such horrible people out there. How that woman can live with herself🤷🏻‍♀️

Horrible women her "friend" turned out to be. I imagine most of us have had occasion to realize that sometimes when things are tough it can be surprising who the people who stand by us & support us turn out to be. Not always the ones you would expect.

Here's some advise when dealing with predators. Get out of the situation as soon as possible. You cannot outsmart them because they play dirty and have no scruples. You are not like that and are at a disadvantage. God bless you.

Not the same thing, but my elderly sister has become very reliant on a woman with an office at a local church who helps the elderly. I am not sure who pays this woman the church or someone else and my sister said she doesn’t know. This woman has slowly taken over my sister’s life. It is amazing to me how people can do this and get away with it! I have tried talking to my sister, but we only get into arguments.

Maybe that's true, that when you're ill, you don't think straight. Still, you would have thought she would have called at least one of her friends to see why they hadn't called or come by. And I can't believe that woman friend got away with all she did and didn't even seem to feel guilty about it! What a terrible person

I don`t doubt this kind of thing happens plenty. But back in the day when paperwork was paper, not on a computer, there was no texting. Texting came last and late. So something is off here.

My business is the same. Until about five years ago our clients still signed actual paper contracts with a pen and contracts were filed back at the office. Those paper contracts had all the customers data on them. Now we use docusign. Thanks for commenting

She didn’t offer and I didn’t feel comfortable asking. I think incredibly difficult times cause lots of cracks that travel in lots of directions

EntreLeadership is must watch show for everyone even people NOT in business because everyone is in relationship with higher-ups and also leading people in our lives...think of mothers leading children till their (less and less as they reach)18. It's best to watch The Ramsey Show when Dave's on. He gets the job done and gets to the heart of it. And Dr Ramani's book ITS NOT YOU. Just some stuff that's changing my life.

OMG, Laura!! When my "best friend" drifted away from me for no apparent reason, I felt terribly betrayed. But, THIS! She used to call me her "sister", that I was her "family", on and on. We went out to dinner one evening, as we often did, and I never really heard from her again. After eight years of closeness. I never knew why she cut me off. I don't think I'll ever "require" a best friend again. Side note: She passed away in February of last year. I heard from former mutual coworkers. May she RIP. TFS the story! 🩷
