Great review! You guys discussed exactly what I was wondering :) Now the decision is between a YoFace V3 or a Meepo Mini 2. The main differences that would be relevant to me would be that the Mini has much larger wheels, much longer wheelbase on a somewhat shorter deck, but very minimal kicktail that barely extends beyond the rear wheels, and it is asymmetrical and appears quite a bit lower to the ground. Someone needs to do a comparison between these two boards...
I would still get the Bustin over the Meepo. The meepo is either a direct copy of the Boosted mini or made from leftover Boosted parts after they went bankrupt. Was not a fan of the deck, I liked the Yoface so much that I got a deck for my push board
@@ElectricCameraRide Bustin went bankrupt?! But they still sell boards?? I think you meant the Mini 2 is a copy of the Mini X after Boosted went bankrupt...
Agreed about the long eboards not being great to old school skaters. I have a WOWGO S2 its allot of fun in the right conditions. I almost bought the yoface but opted for the Revel Kit and converted a sector 9 HAVOC BOSS ROSS PRO to an eboard. Only ridden it a few times but it feels heavy and at high speeds feels very sketchy due to the short wheel base. I miss riding my sector 9 with the traditional indies and ritca clouds! I kinda wish I saw the Braille video first and your review. I ordered a shrike today that I may move the Revel kit as mainly I wanted a kick-tail to maneuver better in tight spots. The Yoface may end up in my collection too thanks to your review. Thanks for the info!!!
For a quite a while I had a Riptide setup that I deck swapped to a Shrike. It was my favorite setup for some time. That is an awesome deck to go electric with. Have fun on it
I installed the Revel Kit on the Shrike and it is a really fun board! The WOWGO S2 is more stable at higher speeds for 2 reasons, 1. longer wheel base 2. No concave its basically flat. I am super happy with the Revel Kit its a good option for those of us who want a kick tail it opens up allot more choices in decks & wheels.
@@floydadcockrealtor Ive been looking for a kicktail too.. I was going to get a bustin but they werent replying to my questions so I ordered a Backfire g3 and hopefully in the future I can order one of the bustin or a diy to make a kicktail board.
@@montarctica I almost bought the Bustin board then I got side tracked. I guess when I almost purchased it the first time they had my email as I received an email with a 25% off coupon from Bustin. So I used it to buy a blem / factory second Shrike model for $76 shipped. It had very minor spots around the edge where the graphic was flaking off but hardly noticeable. I would buy another without a second though its a sweet ride. My Revel Kit is cool however I am starting to hear a low clicking noise now. One day one of the motors stopped working too but came back after a power cycle. That backfire G3 looks sweet and to be honest I have just as much fun on the Wowgo 2 as I do on the Shrike w Revel kit. Its pretty sweet being able to carve hauling a$$ for several miles without a hill. If I come home from work in a bad mood I can hop on my e-board and I am smiling and happy after a few miles of shredding the neighborhood. Have fun hope you love it!!
great video... thank you Im about to buy one of those and needed some re assurance that it is a good board. I live in a pretty small town so I think the range will be fine.
@@ElectricCameraRide It took bustin some time to get back a hold of me and wasnt answering my messages so I went with a backfire g3 for now... might purchase this one in the future but Backfire messaged me back in about 30 seconds. I wish bustin would have messaged me back but they didnt.
Travis Rhoads Bustin has replied to all my emails, it may take a day or two to respond, they do respond tho, 3 times so for in my experience. If anyone is wondering motors 1600w peak, rated 800w, it does have regen breaking but not as regenerative as other boards due to that they had to slightly sacrifice the motor resistance so as for smoother/easier push-ability, as it was designed to be a hybrid electric/push board, and a strong motor resistance gives stronger regeneration but harder push-ability. I have a Predator Banshee v1 and v2, and they are BEASTS for speed, regen is fantastic, but I always wanted it to have a kick tail, I stripped it apart and attached it’ll the parts to a classic late 80s Santa Cruz deck, sooooo good now, but pushing manually is doable but not ideal as it is now 7.5kg (16.5lbs) But this Bustin yoface hybrid has me salivating!!!!! I must have it!!!
I’m on the fence between this an a boosted mini x. Tried a mini and the acceleration was a total rush. It actually pushed quite easily, too, and I could tic-tac on it without the motor. I love how this one looks and that it’ll coast and ride silently like a regular board, but I don’t want to be completely underwhelmed by the acceleration. Hmmm...
Depends on if you want a skateboard with power or an electric board that looks like a skateboard with a tail, you won't get the punch (or braking) with hubs as you do belts
Thanks for the video!! If you take it on a plane do you need to take the battery off? Follow up how does the battery come off? Does it take seconds or minutes to remove?
i have the sportster hybrid x and i'm very happy with it, it's fast, comfortable, nice deck all with a reasonable price. and i believe tha the yoface is the same good quality electric board. I RECOMMEND BUSTIN BOARDS!
@@Coreywfreestyle hello, how are you? i didn't have any problem with the shipping. but i remember that i paid half of the money and then i had to wait until the hole batch was done so they could ship it to me , it was like 2 months or more, but i knew it. but right now i believe they have it in stock. but i suggest you to call then ahead, because their warehouse burned down few weeks ago. i love my board, is strong and well made. i really enjoy it.
Hub motors have resistance too, it's just THIS BOARD that doesn't have resistance. I don't think there is a single company besides them that makes a hub motor that rolls freely.
@@ElectricCameraRide I seeeeee!!! Hey man can you tell me what size riptide pivot cups are compatible with these R1 177mm trucks? This information doesn't exist anywhere it seems. Also are Orangutan Nipples compatible? Was hoping to do a barrel and cone. And lastly riser pads, is there enough play with the hub wires at the rear to add some more riser pads? Heard of wheel bite issues and I will be pushing it to the max carving bowls. So going to need more clearance I feel.
ThatGuyGlenn when I got the boosted mini x there was no such thing as a meepo mini 2. I agree that in the current market the meepo er is a way better choice for the money if you don’t mind that it’s a total knockoff. All things being equal though I usually will spend a little extra and go with a company that innovates instead of copies.
All I'm learning is that you have no idea what you're talking about. You put it in the slow mode to go slow? You can control your speed with the wheel, that's silly.
