You have to change the output mode to get kill-dry which is very much supported (can even output direct from A and wet from B if so desired). Also, all parameters are MIDI controllable through CC. I think these two features are some of the biggest selling points of the pedal.

You can absolutely make this pedal kill dry. The procedure is outlined in the manual.

It's definitely going to be my next pedal. Bucket Brigade Delays are my favorite and i think Boss knocked it out of the park with this one. Its either this one or the J Rockett Clockwork since both are stereo, but i would rather have the features of the DM-101

Thanks for the video! Do you know roughly when the carl martin pedal competition has been pushed back to? I feel so heartbroken for the family… I saw they posted on facebook they plan to continue on forwards with the business, which is a great way to honour Soren indeed.

@@EytschPi42 Im not sure you can actually cancel a competition once you have entrants who invested time and effort with expectations of a prize. EU law prohibits that and also youtube prohibits it. Do you think it will resume soon?

I talked with his daughter. At the moment this pedal won’t happen. The owner of the company died. These are special circumstances out of our control. She can’t continue the company herself. They need to figure all of this out.

@@EytschPi42 Yes i totally understand the circumstances and completely understand and sympathise. However there is a difference between a postponement and a cancellation. The competition was set by Carl Martin, via your youtube channel, and as it stands Carl Martin still exists and so does your channel… so the stakeholders and administers of the competition still operate, but the entrants are left with their expectations dishonoured, which isn’t right at all, and also prohibited, and i really doubt the company carl martin would do that to their fans. Perhaps you can convince them to continue the competition (as they already stated they will continue the business on their facebook), and there should be some reasonable way to resolve this so this doesn’t get more complicated, can you please ask them again when appropriate?

@@EytschPi42 I contacted Carl Martin and they are saying the complete opposite of what you are saying… they said they are more determined then ever to continue the business and honor Soren in this way and that Soren would never want them to dishonour their fans, which makes obvious sense… something isn’t adding up here Henning? You are taking quite a firm position on your youtube channel about a “cancellation”, but Carl Martin seems to understand they cannot dishonour a contest in the EU, seems like this is going to end up all on your channels shoulders and you may take the fall unless this is sorted out. You might think im being annoying, and i know i will lose the contest anyway as i was one of the crappy early entrants you spoke of… but im trying to help you out, as this is a matter of regulations and youtube will take action if this violation of rules is maintained… also I have lost many people close to me and know what it feels like, but to think that Soren would want his vision trashed and his fans dishonoured as a result of his passing is quite an appalling judgement on him. I hope and pray this entire issue is not simply about money changing hands. This should be about doing the right thing, which just so happens to be consistent with honouring Soren’s vision.

Boss/Roland. They have this kinda boring reputation, but their gear is mostly very well thought out and great sounding. Usually built like a tank.

It’s like their stuff is readily available, reasonable (with a few exceptions? I managed a tone-bender that was inflated, so not their fault) and bc of that, the get overlooked. I see their stuff on pro-boards all the time.

@@joetoe9207 I have two boards. The small one has a DD200, the large one has an ES5 and an RV500. It's good solid stuff. And availability, superb. Pricing isn't bad either. I had a Boss DR660, bought it new back in the 90's. It unfortunately stopped working earlier this year. I still loved to use it to tap in rhythms in EZDrummer.

It does take line level, I have one in my studio . ... but a re-amp like the ProRMP helps add perhaps 5% in clarity . .

Hello from England. I bought this pedal. It's OK, but it does nothing for me that my other delay pedals won't do. My Hall and Colins is better for me than this pedal.

Pricing gets out of control in gear biz. GT-8 already had these delays. I hope customers have an appropriate answer.

if you understand design and what went into this pedal, it's priced appropriately, and the appropriate response is to buy it if this is the sound you want (otherwise you're spending thousands on a vintage and discontinued rackmount unit). Can't get this in pedal format until now. I'm also surprised he didn't understand why there wasn't stereo ins on a bucket brigade delay of this magnitude. Is he aware how many chips they already managed to squeeze in here? Stereo ins would double the size and the price. This should be run in parallel, anyway, so stereo ins wouldn't matter anyway. This is for people with a parallel loop/switcher, running w/d/w, etc. Already sold out everywhere and back to preorder only for a very good reason

@@n.s.3812 Boss is constantly ripping off customers, either by using the same old sounds over an over again or by increasing prices ridiculously. And what are the costs of BBD chips? Boss can't fool me neither will you. Btw. I can order it at a big european store and have it tomorrow. Far from sold out, right?

It is not REALLY a stereo pedal since it is not STEREO IN. All pedalboards of clever guitarists have delay at the end of the pedal chain (for example a stereo chorus, stereo tremolo such as Fulltone which I have and such...), so this pedal 101 cannot be used as stereo at all. Furthermore, it should have dry/wet pot on BOTH OUTPUTS so that it can put dry signal into a proper stereo soundfield... etc. Yes, it is good that it is true analog (the only way I like it) and that it has a number of options... but it is NOT PROPERLY THOUGHT-OUT. New version is eagerly awaited... with correct stereo features... ofcourse.

It's true. And definitely agree on the stereo chorus, which is a bit of an issue. But oth, the unit itself has modulation, and to me stereo analogue delay is more important than modulation - even if it would be nice if it was stereo in. Tremelo is less of an issue, that is one stereo effect I run end of chain - so it's just the stereo modulation (Boss DC-2W, CE-2W & TC SCF+) that it causes an issue for me here. Funny, since two out of three of those are newer Boss stereo modulation pedals. And also releasing this, they clearly get the importance of stereo. But, there's going to be architecture / cost reasons. And I don't know if I'd want to spend more than this. It's already really quite expensive. Suspecct it would be priced comparable to a Meris LVX if it was stereo in. Which is a different beast, but at that point the Boss has stiff competition, and with Meraki now too, which costs ... Meris LVX money at 666 eur, where these DM-101s are selling around 399 now.
