The number of times I have heard Andrew tell the story of that grease barrel is countless, I love it every time! Bought it at a yard sale many years ago, never put more grease in it!
@@Deutschehordenelite given that I have the same impact driver and have used it for almost 15 years, built a handful of buildings, including a 2000 sq/ft house and the thing still rocks, I agree.
Great score on the loader. I used to work at asphalt plant and moved up to 400 ton of different gravels an hour in various models of loaders. Money saving tip: Use the machines weight to get first two thirds of bucket, hit pile at some speed. Than lift while moving forward and tilt bucket slightly down and than back up. Full easy scoops every time. If you keep trying to run it like a dozer your tranny will not last long. Like the super pro who had 10's of thousands of hours running one and trained me in said "if your tires spin, you are doing it wrong and the machine will let you know by breaking down".
Same here. I just started working at an asphalt plant as an intern through school and I get to run the loader a lot. I’m running an old cat 980g and it’s at 25,023 hours
@@andrewsander5971 Nice! That was one of my favorite machines. It gets repetitive pretty fast but makes the days go quick when plant is running full blast. When you start digging the huge piles out trying to make a cliff face for amusement to get the huge drop don't forget to dig higher up around cab level when it gets to danger zone-almost 90 degree 50+foot wall. That way if the whole face sheds it will hopefully catch bucket and push machine out. If you are in digging low it can trap bucket and than you might have a couple hundred tons coming though cab trying to sit on your lap. Or be smart and dig the edges until it drops. Good luck! Get in the operators union and you will get to play with all the big toys and be able to afford a bunch of your own toys. www.equipmentworld.com/workforce/safety/article/14963325/loader-operator-killed-when-avalanche-of-sand-floods-cab
Even when it runs out, I bet you'll be able to fill several grease cups with what's left over in the drum. And just think what it costs for grease gun tubes and tubs. I don't know what he paid for the thing originally, but I bet it was the biggest bargain of all. Love the new 930. Killer drone footage.
So great that Levi is still doing his lab inspections. His 15th birthday should be monumental!!! His age is showing more and more. When he is done his last inspection Andrew, you will not be alone mourning the loss of a fantastic partner. Heres hope to a 16th birthday.
Levi is still showing he is the overseer of the company, even though he's slowing down somewhat. Love the friendship with the dogs and you Andrew, one big happy family. Great video, the new loader made short work of the movement of the fill.
Andrew's love for his dogs always makes me smile🙂 Andy has so many big boy toys, there is no one on the internet to compare. His ability to snag good used equipment, make all necessary repairs & maintenance is tops. We can't fail to mention his construction skills, including castles, bridges, etc.,!
Driving out of our neighborhood yesterday and we see a man with a chain around a stump and he’s looking at the bumper of his truck that’s obviously been ripped nearly in half. My wife says, “he could use a mini-excavator” Very proud moment for me. Thanks for the solid year of entertainment Andrew.
For Levi.....My old dog had troubles moving around and would not come for walks anymore. My vet prescribed Galliprant about 6 months ago. She is now moving around much better and even lost a little weight. She also sleeps much better.

@@herrht Yeah, why are people so fixated on "where" the exhaust gas goes? While we are on the topic, what is with this universal fascination with celebrating the "waste" cycle of the internal combustion engine? The "Power" cycle seems to me more like it should be the focus of our excitement, not the "hee hee hee it makes a farting sound when it exits the combustion chamber" cycle.
What I thought when I bought my 99 C7500 dump truck. Had been an AT&T line truck and the dump bed dealer that installed the bed said they had serviced it during its life with them. They hadn’t! $10k later she is good( and paid for)
I see so many RU-vidrs who make a video about buying a machine like this, but then you never see it on a job. They just 'own it and have plans for it' that seldom seem to happen. Andrew puts them to work.
@@JerryDLTN i think andrew would rather have honest real subscribers that watch his content rather than a bunch of fillers that some overrated people told them to promote.
@@coolchef09 That's exactly how I think it'd be. Andrew wants people who actually enjoy his channel to sub and doesn't even mention subscribing in his videos. He'll definitely get to 1 mill but it may take some time.
Wow Andrew, the point of interest camera work from the drone really took this video to the next level. I love how much it’s able to show us beyond what you’re normally able to do with the gopros and occasional drone shot. Nice work!
@@markjones9366 Thanks! I've had the same question previously but it is particularly evident in this video. I wondered if there was some sort of "follow-me" mode on the drone that it would stay x feet away and track the remote with the camera. I never see any evidence of an operator.
I was thinking the same, awesome way to shoot the video. Andrew does a great job in everything he does. Keep up the great work and amazing videos! Oh check the tire pressure of the front right tire, looked low in the video?
“Honey, Watcha watching?” Me, “Oh, just watching Andrew getting ready to dig up the other side of the mountain.”, Honey, "OK il be in the bedroom banging Lamar, enjoy jerking off to a tractor"
Every AC video has a dozen of the same comments: - my wife: watcha watching honey? - me: I’m watching Andrew do something with a machine, and dirt is involved.
Andrew most of the cats are 4 speed twist shift, right on forward and reverse shifter. Those things are great for snow clearing also with a 12 foot snow plow and a set of loader chains on all 4 tires Thanks for sharing 👍
I've driven a few different CATs, a Komatau WA150 and a shitbox volvo, every one of them had a different way of changing gears, unless the company had someone fix the speeds. The WA150 had a turn knob on the right console, by memory. None of them had a stick shift, except maybe the old volvo. Is it an 'old loader' thing?
If you get the Michelin recaps that have the 3 sipes . You don’t need chains ,they are amazing 17.5-25 radial recaps worth every penny. I hade them on a cat 930 and a John Deere 444.
i think Levi’s 12th birthday video is what brought me to your channel. I watched then thought, this is my kind of fellow giving his dog a whole day long birthday. I used to do the same thing with my dog. I just lost her at 14 and your videos really help me get my mind off losing her. thank you
Never thought watching a guy move a pile of dirt from one part of the yard to another would be so interesting. Digging the new camera person! Thanks Andrew!
Sorry David, I've watched all of his videos but couldn't watch this one with the camera constantly doing laps around the loader. Each to their own I suppose.
I grew up operating these Cats, awesome power and durability. Change fluids, filters, grease regularly and operators seat frequently, they bounce a lot in third gear lol. 3 speeds forward and 2 speed reverse. be cautious on downshifting speeds, idle down the engine before shifting. Enjoy this great piece of iron history.
Seeing Levi tottering about on his inspection tour brought back vivid memories of my Labrador Sam at that same age - 15. It gets really tough for them at that great age (for a Lab), but they refuse to give up.
To whom ever is actively flying the drone now, you're doing good work. If I may offer a little constructive feedback, one of the things that makes Andrew's channel so great is his wide, static shots. I'm not used to the constant motion in the latest videos. It is okay to just park the drone somewhere and move as needed when he goes out of frame. Just my two cents.
The drone is definitely AI controlled. You can tell because it can't really tell the whole picture, just keeps adjusting the speed on a second to second basis.
Great video, I was so happy that the majority of the video you did not play a bunch of annoying background music. I found a good channel called western truck and tractor. The guy work's on everything, shows and talks a lot about the stuff he works on, and I like the fact that he work's for himself in a field, or in his shop. Thanks, and hope levi has many more birthdays, he is a good ole boy. God bless.
It's always great to see these old machines still doing a lot of work. When the weather is good I work for a big-ish contracting company and the oldest large equipment we have is from the late 00s. It's always as if older machines are totally written of for any kind of productivity work, which of course is true if you're doing contracting work against stiff competition, but these machines have so much life left in them for this kind of homesteading work or for any small farmer etc. This does make me appreciate how good we have it with our noise insulated cabins, heated seats, bluetooth audio, multiple cameras, computers that weigh every scoop, monitors that show the exact angle of the bucket and a lot more stuff. That also makes it so that modern machines are really hard to maintain by yourself, it's basically impossible for John Deere for example. If I was doing stuff on my own, I'd probably exclusively buy stuff from the 90s.
7 years?? Wow. I get allready tired of it after a couple 10-12hr days. Its fun on the first day but very repetitive after that. Also my back starts hurting from the unequal position. The arm on the steering is allways higher than the one on the leavers. I am always amazed how people have the mental capacity to do those jobs for long time periods.
I ran a 992 for several years in a cement plant before getting off shift and into the electrical trade. Only thing bigger is the 994s they bought soon after I left that job which are the biggest loaders cat makes. Fun for the first few hours.
Being articulated is a good feature and it seems like that wheel loader can do some dozer work. LED lighting swap on your equipment would be a important upgrade the tech is matured.
Andrew , I tip my hat to you on so many things .... But , the Love you have for your dogs is special .... For a Lab to make it 15 years is Awesome . Again , You are a Force Of Nature !!!!!!!!!
God bless Levi. Still does his best, to be with you when you include him, which at his age is not as easy as it used to be. Give him a gentle Hug for me..
It could have been on auto pilot, it seemed too herky jerky keeping the subject in focused in the frame though. But either way whether it was auto pilot or not, it was definitely awesome and a nice touch.
I agree that's the best thing for him with all those machines is that large Grease caddy. They used them in the 1950-60. Good job Andew!! All the best from Canada
Andrew is smart to purchase the older equipment as it is easier to maintain in the long run and doesn't have a complex computer system involved in the workings. The biggest complaint about the newer equipment is the fact that the owner is held hostage by the dealership with a lack of technicians to come out to service the breakdown and the very high cost. Doing repairs in house is more cost effective and a time saver, especially if the dealer can't send out a technician for many days due to high demand. Not having computers controlling the machine and the diesel exhaust fluid requirement is a big plus for the owner/operator. Buy all the old equipment you can and hold on to it as it is becoming difficult to find as many contractors are not turning in the older more simple machines from the 70's and 80's. The older machines sit better if not used a lot and usually fire right up after months of idling. Andrew is building a good fleet of machines to tackle any job that is presented to him. Keep the videos coming.
I often look at the amount of views before watching one of Andrew"s videos, than refresh and see how many have watch in that time frame. Today's total, over 6K in 17 minutes. Well done Andrew please keep up the entertainment.
It is amazing to see Andrew do so well, shows how anything is possible if you put your mind to something. Impressive, one man and his dog (now two). Always makes me smile watching one of Andrew's videos - thank you (inspiring, plus you're always down to earth yet a with a smile :) stay safe!
You know you've been watching Andrew for a long time when you remember Levis Birthday Videos. Nice Loader Andrew, sounds solid and looks to have decent power. Also great Drone Footage of the Tractor working.
This machine is in really good shape I'm Happy with it. Also 1st job we see it on the smoke stack falls off... Just thought that was funny. Congrats on your equipment empire Andy!!!
Love watching your films from Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Also feeling a bit jealous watching you do things you could never 'just do' over here. When I was sailing on heavy lift vessels we used to put a red paint circle around grease nipples on the winches etc so they were easier to spot and less likely to get missed. Keep up the good work and make me smile every time I watch.
I cannot believe that Levi is going to be 15 he has always been such a sweet puppy you're a lucky man give him all the love he needs because he always gives it back to you one of your superfans James team North Carolina
The person doing your drone work is doing an excellent job and really adds to the cinematography of the videos! Owner of residential property management company I really appreciate your work!
Andrews' videos just keep getting better and better - fantastic drone camera work from his helper! very atmospheric sounds as well - more videos please
Having a dedicated drone operator has really stepped things up the last few videos. Tracking shots, leading / following, orbits etc. Noticed it a lot on the barn video too.
Andrew, a very nice finish, the ascending drone shot over forest land: A beautiful spring coming into summer and yet sadly a winter's bite is also inevitably on the way. Always nice to see your Levi.
@ Nic Thomas I”m looking forward to him either enclosing the equipment shed where he has his lift or adding on to it while enclosing it. He built that first before he did the shop castle. I wish he’d took video of that build process.
I've had the smaller version of that for about 25 years now. A Swinger loader which hauls one yard or about 2200 lbs. I don't know how we would get along without it. Best machine in the woods ever. Added a Cat 307 excavator last year and a sawmill this year. I think we're all set. Nice find bud👍😎👌
Andrew excellent and entertaining video. Love the new floating camera view, almost to much lol started to feel sea sick lol. Good to see Cody & Levi, sweet puppy’s. Levi looking pretty old these days, poor puppy. Looks like he is coming to an end, in a couple more years. Always breaks my heart to see them struggle in their later years.
Hes actually so capable of fixing anything that could possibly go wrong that he's saving a ton of money buying old used heavy equipment or anything actually. Old snowmobiles side by sides, .4 wheelers, boats everything he's pretty much ever bought he can fix.
Master forgive me, I've had this wrong all these years. You don't buy a huge yellow thing and then get a grease gun to fit, what you should do is buy a monster grease gun rig and then keep buying big yellow things that fit it! Now I see!!
Hay Andrew, my 3 year old boy loves your show and I do too. We live in New Zealand and live a similar life style 😎. We really like your detailed videos of the problems and maintance on your machinery. Since watching your show my boy has learned to drive a digger and knows all the components Inc dipper and boom etc. Thanks heaps for the entertainment 👍.
Hey Andrew, thanks for another great video. Looking forward to see the new loader getting serviced, pressure cleaned, rust converter put on and paint touch up. Thank you for sharing from down under.😀😀👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺
Cool. 17 and 2 machines already? Sounds like the makings of a great YT channel. Model it after Andrew's. Lots of people would like to see you, your business, and your channel grow. We eat this stuff up. Haha Good luck.
@@buka420 You should start a channel too! Even before you buy your first machine. Show the process as you go through it. It might turn out to be a hit. You never know. Good luck.
Thank you all very much my father owns a business the same as Mr. Camarata and I plan to take it over once I'm out of school he said that I'll get his business and I may start a RU-vid channel but I don't know well see
Yeah I could tell when he showed a close up. My dog is 14 and she has many problems but you can start to notice when it gets bad. (My dog has caterax in the eye, arthritis, hearing problems, and alot more but she is my baby and I lover her) Dogs do alot for us, more than we will ever know
Yes old levi is failing pretty bad now.i have delt with bad arthritis for the last 30 yrs.both knees replaced, right shoulder replaced twice still not right left shoulder needs replaced but putting it off for as long as I can take it since the right one never improved. Carpel tunnel both hands / wrists. Neck pain all the time.could have been the wife but got rid of her and neck issue still there LOL. The list goes on so I feel bad for oh levi.every painful step he takes reminds me of many painful steps I took before replacements and actually still have since them.so they don't solve all the pain but sure is alot better than before .
The 930 Articulated front end loader is an all time favorite go to for me! It's powerful and more maneuverable. Not so hot in the winter if it doesn't have a heater is that steel is like concrete zaps the heat right out of your feet!
Great video. High quality camera work. And thanks for keeping the focus on the machine and the job. No unnecessary yakking like so many other producers.
We agree with the reply that Andrew is the 10 men working crew.Super videos sir. We have been watching for a LONG TIME,how old is LEVI.CHEERS to all. Andrew has made the stay at home order, easier Thank you Andrew sir.
It's good to see Andrew driving something with wheels on a job site every now and then. I'm so used to his skid steers and his other heavy equipment with tracks 🤓
I had a 1968 966 b strongest best machine ever made. Still runs 15,000 hours . All parts available no computer s to go bad .. Iron horses these years. That is a good machine you got.
So sad Levi passed almost exactly a week later. Goes to show you never know. But we know he had a great life, most of it is on video. Great guy, great dog. Cody has some big paw prints to fill.
There's a big difference between functional fitness, and moving weight. I can tell you there's a lot of super strong guys in the gym, who wouldn't know how to properly apply their strength to seemingly simple tasks. So many things are perplexingly more complicated to move than they seem
Definitely not. Farm strength and gym strength are not really that related. You can be strong on the farm but most likely your gunna be weak in the gym.
Awesome piece of equipment awesome job Andrew and glad to see Superintendent Levi and Supervisor Cody on the job, take care my friends and stay safe god bless
I am so glad you finally got a wheeled loader. They are so much more versatile than a tracked loader. I think you will get a lot more work now you have this and it will pay for itself in no time.
