Nice one, will be interesting to see how they get on! Some really cool tracks in the US. I normally run an evo 7 track car , but my daily is a b8 s4 avant (only mods are 034 springs, milltek catback and some uprated brake fluid) and took it to a couple of trackdays just to learn the tracks for an upcoming events, on 1 it blew the sport diff (since then retrofitted a standard diff) and on the next it randomly started showing low oil pressure lights at hot idle so retired it for the day to investigate (hopefully just the switches, which I'm replacing soon haven't driven it since). While it was working was actually decently quick, had a lot of mechanical grip.. and damn how much easier a car with dsg is to drive than a manual when having to heel-toe downshift etc. Want to get mine sorted enough to be able to cope with a few trackdays here and there while retaining 95% of the comfort so it can do long-distance and commuting duties. JXB sell a lot of drivetrain stuff and jackal tuning seem to be the new go-to in terms of ots tuning so would be cool to see how their parts hold up on track :)

Love it! What part of the US are you in? Next year I plan on driving around the US to as many tracks as I can!

@@FindingSeconds Im in the UK near Oxford. Have been to basically all tracks in England/Wales (i have some vids of them) and even did a year of time attack before they closed off the entry level “run what you brung” series. The main reason I was trying to have the s4 available for some track work is that the evo is almost full race car… no interior, sound deadening, ac, door locks etc etc and to do a long trip is not fun. So to have a comfier car that can go to tracks 3-4 hrs away, or maybe even nurburgring etc would be super nice as I dont have a trailer currently for the evo and for non-competitive events lap times dont really matter anyways. The US motorsport scene seems to really be ramping up which is awesome to see. With the likes of gridlife and such and having a whole festival atmosphere for a weekend must be so cool.

It is awesome over here. I used to live in Melksham and visited Castle Coombe once when Mr Bean was out doing some laps :) S4 can be capable on track but the front brakes need a lot of attention. The stock brakes are not up to the job. I’ve got some videos coming that go into more detail. Do you run a lap timer at all? The Catalyst is awesome for keeping a history of all your events and the leaderboards in the app is so much fun. Now I’m completely bias of course :D I got to drive the ring last September. Now I’m just plotting how to get back there. What year is your evo?

@@FindingSeconds Damn dude you've been all over the place 😂 Ring is on the bucket list but don't want to go there in something I'm not fully confident in, so want to get it sorted fully first. From having the gearbox, sport diff and now this oil pressure issue (I'm praying just the switch..) want to get some miles on it first so that I know it's not going to just randomly break something. Will be getting a bbk for it eventually, I've got a ksport 8 piston kit on the evo and it's fantastic. Have run 30 minute stints at heavy braking tracks like bedford autodrome stopping from 160 over and over again and the feel and stopping power is perfect. Am gonna see if the fronts with rb700 fluid can cope with 1-2 laps at a time first as I'm not planning on doing super long sessions with it, but heard they're shocking even for short stints so not got my hopes up.. Only lap timer I run is when the event provides a transponder and does the timing through the circuit, haven't been too bothered about laptimes on general trackdays but yeah have seen videos of those catalysts and the data must be super handy. Nice that they can integrate with cameras too. Evo is a 7, but not much is stock any more 😂 by far the ideal setup as been doing everything on a tight budget but it's been great to run, plenty of power and considering it's on only 225 section tyres has a lot of grip. Very light car too so all consumable costs are pretty low. Only gone through 1 set of brake pads for example in 3 years! If it had stock seats, AC, locks etc I'd totally do long trips in it, but with it how it is really needs to be trailered as getting it from Oxford to Anglesey for example is not a fun drive.. Hence why the s4 was meant to be able to do basic track work and go to places for testing then when it's for real bring the evo out

Evo 7 is one of the best years imho :) Love the fact that it’s still going strong. Is Castro SRF available in the UK? It’s the best brake fluids around. Would love to follow along with your activities. Found your channel :)
