It’s whatever they send you. But the this kit works with both 030 and 040

You probably have a bdm 30 or something like a different bdm from what you bought

I got a scuff now tho so it doesn’t really matter but buyer beware

Hey man, I had the same problem. Got it fixed. First time I put it all together, my left d-pad and joysticks weren't working properly, I would have to press hard on the up arrow to move the left and right. Took it apart put it back together, then it worked, suddenly my d-pad was constantly pressing down during game. Took it apart again, put it back together, then no buttons worked. Took it apart again and watched other videos. So the problem is that gold connection that you place overtop of the clear one, I also want to mention that I did take the whole controller apart and whipped the button sensors, when I put it back together, I made sure everything was in properly, I think what happens is, when we put the motherboard back on, it's a bit difficult to align (for me anyway) without nudging that strip (is what I suspect). The motherboard is held by two little black plastic prongs, they are just near the two blue strips in each side. I want to also note, when I did it this time, I didn't completely take out the motherboard to install the strip, but enough to give me some playroom to make it easier to put back without accidentally nudging the strip when putting it back. Also, there are two stickies on the strip that you install, make sure the little sticky isn't exposed, it will stick to the motherboard and make the connection loose when its all put back together. Screw everything tight. Hope this helps, I know how frustrating it is.

Also, it's hard to do with the strip connected to the battery, I was worried if I took it off it wouldn't stick properly, but I did it several times and it still sticks back on.

on the motherboard there is a ribbon cable on top. that connects the touchpad, perhaps you did not connect it or the connection is not good??

Don't call something a scam just because you messed it up. Skill issue not a hardware problem.
