I’m close to ordering shortly and have been watching the release of your Seal themed posts - so helpful and considered! I’m even thinking of going for Atlantis Grey, purely on your reactions to it in different light (but considering the premium at this point). Thanks for taking the time to do the searching and researching - we, as your audience, are certainly appreciative.
Wow wow wow, thank you so much for such a heart felt feedback. All my hard work making these videos has paid off knowing these videos are useful to so many of you. Go with the premium if you can afford it. You get a lot more for the small amount of additional cost, and it's the one with the longest range too.
As always, very informative video. BYD has a lot of work to do. So many complaints evdn on Facebook groups. Noise from the wheels when turning the steering wheel, locks not working properly, half baked app. But I love this car.
Yes, the car is so good and fun to drive, it kind of made it up for itself. The mobile app works, it's just that the UI is not nice at all and the fonts are too small.
BYD APP Feature Wish List: 1. Advanced Charging Scheduler 2. NFC Key 3. Support for 2 users with their custom seat settings 4. Remote disabling of children presence detector
@@allanudsen8525 I actually know why thats for now. You can add a BYD widget to your phone. It can do every without opening the app. But requires a 6 pin code to action the request. Of course the counter argument is, if the phone is already unlocked, why additional pin ?
Nice video, I am still waiting for a connection to the app, I have contacted them and I supplied a screenshot of the software data, app looks good, the aircon control looks very useful, no more opening screens every time I start car. Thanks.
Yeah I'm hoping BYD will have the functionality of adding NFC devices like Tesla does. On a Tesla you scan your cars NFC card then it allows you to scan the new NFC device. I'm really interested in NFC rings which would be easier to carry, waterproof etc. Also I would like to thank you for your BYD Seal videos!!! You cover lots of unique features that maybe small but to me as add up to a great experience. Motoring journalist simply don't cover this stuff. Looking forward to more BYD content. Cheers
Wonderful! You are very very welcome. I cover these type of topics is because I myself is a user/owner of the BYD Seal, just like all my other tech videos, I buy all the tech toys (gear) and use them myself. Thanks for appreciating my video and letting me know. Makes my effort all worthwhile.
@@SkyPerspective From my point of view the are very worth while! As a side note I don't believe there's too much content on the base model seal so I believe people considering it will benefit from your videos. It will be interesting to see if BYD respond to feedback such as adding another NFC device and using the scenario you gave if the car had no mobile signal. Anyways keep up the great work! Cheers 👍
Yes I know my position and have made videos specific to Dynamic like it's imitation leather seats that the other higher end models doesn't have. Thanks for the encouragement.
@@SkyPerspective Seems like in Brazil they are using 2310 but some new variant with the BYD store and the digital key option which I cannot see in my 2310.
So are you saying, the mobile phone app working with 2310 will then be able to unlock using phone NFC ? This is so interesting, and exciting if we can get this to work.
do you have any idea how to reduce the volume of the indicator sound? it is way too loud and a bit annoying , i wish i could turn down a little bit of the indicator volume would be perfect
I.watched a review from UK saying that the driver can feel a quite annoying vibration (not smooth) on the steering wheel column when passing a quite rough surface road, is it really the case ? please kindly share your experience on that matter, I am planning to buy BYD Seal but still doubt because of this issue
I can only speak with my comparison to my Honda Civic. My Civic weight is about 1500kg and the Seal is about 2000kg, because of this the Seal suspension need to be a lot stiffer to take the weight. If I compare driving my Civic over bumpy roads like raill crossing train tracks and highway bridges with joint sections, yes the Seal is a lot bumpier and I can feel the bump is a lot harder compared to Civic. If I compare the Seal to Tesla Model 3, which has a similar weight, the Seal suspension is actually a lot better compared to model 3. So it really depends on what car you are currently driving and changing from.
Auto login is for automatic logging into the app without using biometrics verification. Besides, I also experienced a few times the vehicle having no network but it should have. Strange. Two weeks of ownership and the button on the car handle already malfunctioning (well only locking doesn’t work anymore, unlocking is still fine) 😂
All of you are so funny 😄 Unfortunately @Zepa123, I don't have steering wheel heating for my Dynamic model so I cannot help answer your question. Hopefully someone will soon.
That's what I am hoping BYD will have in future. I suspect they can do it, but it's on the bottom of their feature request list. By the looks of the unpolished UI (text not centre) they seem to be rushing their app version release.
I was left standing with shopping bags and only the NFC card in my hand for a solid 10 minutes as the car did not respond to the card. It seems like I wasn't the only who has experienced this, seems like the car goes into a deep sleep after about an hour which also takes down the NFC reader in the mirror. I ended up either holding or pressing the door unlock button multiple times for the car to wake up and let me unlock it. So it'll be keys for me 😂
Yes, it is a bug. I got this as well. If I leave car for one hour plus the NFC go into sleep mode. Please report this to your dealer and hopefully it will be fixed soon.
This is interesting. Thanks for sharing. This never occurs to me. Even if I have the car parked for hours I tap with my ncf card and it unlocks first time everytime. Did you tap just the card or the card in the wallet? Could other credit cards be interfering causing it to only work intermittently?
@@SkyPerspective it is a known bug and I can reproduce it everytime with these steps: 1. Unlock car with card 2. Start car 3. Stop car 4. Lock with card 5. Wait over an hour, but just over. I waited 1 hour and 15 minutes 6. Try to unlock with card
It does sound like a bug to me then if you can reproduce the error every time. I just tested it again with your steps above, except step 5 I went back to test it after 2 hours later, and the result is all good. The car just unlocks when I beep the card.
@@SkyPerspective I think the problem is a sleep pattern. Just over one hour it can be reproduced but maybe activate later again. Bottom line is that you cannot rely on that it will work.
What nonsense. I haven't carried a wallet in about a decade and I'm not about to carry a phone, a key and a NFC. BYD just needs to drag their app into the real world and make it actually useful.
The car key has to be outside the car neat the driver side door or passenger door in order for us to press the button on door handle to unlock the car. The car knows the car key is in the car and won't unlock in this 4:00 case.
