Trying to do something a little different for my gauge set up. I think the OBS bench seat 60/40 with an arm rest is what I want so I had to do a little adapting. #c10, #squarebody, #stoutcustom

That Kydex is a son of gun to work with like that, but I’m convinced you could turn a lump of **** into a Diamond.

That's going to be pretty sweet. I think after viewing your videos you are very talented and I need to work on my patience and fear of screwing up hehehe.

Thanks JB. I always like to give things a good try even if the next video might be me throwing this dash bezel in the trash and unboxing a direct bolt in from classic instruments, lol. Thanks for watching!

Sorry to hear about Granny. Keep up the good work. I put an obs seat in my 77 and used the original Square Body brackets with slight modification on my channel. If you want a link, let me know.

I appreciate it OCG. She was one of a kind. I watched the seat video. Interesting approach. Where do you find time to do 700+ videos?, lol

Jim, I have seen a hundred of Buick extruded alum. to steel feet snap off. I know this is 3/16" steel, but if room for a socket, weld a gusset on the inside for strength. I am using head rest as well on older C10. If hit from behind, I want my head on soft instead of glass. 12:20 "I put that **** on everything" makes me laugh. You have the only two videos that make that reference to "Franks Red-Hot" sauce. And that was a nice dedication to Granny Nellie. Never would have thought of using "Kydex", get choice! I didn't look up spelling, but heard of it many times! Using the noodle, hard, flexible hot and not bad to work with it appears! Thanks, that's a keeper. DK, Omaha. Jealous of sunshine & open doors though...

Brackets probably need gussets and an extra bolt on each corner, seat to seat bracket, I’d feel better. Yeah gonna miss Granny. Loved her sense of humor. Probably where some of mine came from.

@@StoutCustom I would like you think so Jim. I couldn't help but laugh in one video when you got out of bed to go make more dust, and beer cans fell out of the bed for 2 minutes... well 12 seconds, but you know. Gotta have fun when it cost more than you house to buy a new truck, and $2,000+ just for enough product to paint one vehicle. "Sir, will that be cash, card, gold or first born?" Ha!

Good morning boss. I am wanting to paint my 67 c10 gauge cluster gray. I do not want it shiny. What do you recommend using material and process wise for sanding , prepping and painting so not only looks great but lasts. TiA. Happy Thanksgiving.
@StoutCustom
@StoutCustom Год назад
Happy Thanksgiving to you too Mike. I would sand any smooth areas like the edges with 320 and scuff the rest with a red scotchbrite pad. Once it has been sanded well, clean it, blow and tack, then apply a thin coat of adhesion promoter such as “bulldog”. Follow that with an epoxy sealer and basecoat. Just leaving solvent based basecoat as the final coat is often done because it provides the “look” people want. To give the basecoat more durability, a small percentage (5% or less) of hardener can be added to it. Another option would be to clear the basecoat with a flat or Matt clear coat depending on what level of gloss you want. Hoops this helps and thanks for watching!

i have to ask im new at this, BTW its the same thing im trying to do swapping the seats same idea. Question????? the brackets that obviously look old, are they from the original c10 seats or are they part of the OBS
@StoutCustom
@StoutCustom Год назад
The slideer brackets that I will use are original to the square body. The ones that belong to the obs are still attached to the obs seat base that was not used. So it’s obs seat mounted to the rectangular plates I cut out of 3/16” steel mounted to the original square body seat slide mounts. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!
