Good morning Will. I’ve never used Eastwood’s paint. I’m sure it’s just a rebrand of something out there I just don’t know what. It will probably get the job done but I have no idea as to longevity or do’s and dont’s with it. Thanks for watching!
I sprayed some Eastwood epoxy primer over evercoat rage Gold filler. I get stains or you can see the filler underneath. Any advice would be appreciated!
I don’t think the rage filler would bleed through unless it had way too much hardener mixed in. Although I’m not familiar with Eastwood’s epoxy, reading the info on it( if I looked at the correct product) said 30 minutes between coats. If the epoxy was applied too heavy or not enough flash time in between coats, it may cause bleed through. Again though, filler doesn’t usually bleed through so if there was an old layer of paint (possibly lacquer) under the filler, that may be where the bleeding comes from. If that is the case, old paint bleeding through, it will be problematic throughout the process unless removed. If the epoxy is just too slow drying, you may try a different primer.
Sprayed my c10 with a primer builder sealer. Did som spot putty in a few spots sanded primed again sanded painted with valspar tractor paint made for John deer. Looks great was even able to polish it to a slightly more glossy satin finish. But I noticed blotches where most of the spot putty was. Started to second guess if I had sealed over the red oxide spot putty or not before painting. Then I saw this comment about hardener. I did use hardener and reducer Over all it was great and didn’t fade much but those blemishes started showing more and now 10 years later I’m considering having it done again. Is this going to be compatible with other paint base. I’m in CA so everything is illegal especially the lacquer I have on it now. Had to get creative just to get it here. Apparently It’s all waterborne or urethane now.
