I installed a new engine wiring harness in my 1971 C3 Corvette. The harness was manufactured by Lectric Limited. This car is a base, small block, manual, no AC car.
Just finished the headlamp harness on my '72 350 Corvette, after 46 years of driving it. Now on to the engine harness, interior harness, and rear harness! It all started with repairing the clock....😂 Your videos and commentary echo how we all feel, making our way through this obsession, uh....hobby!
Im finding your videos a great source of information. Thank you. Ive just purchased a 69 427 T top that im looking to improve. Im not a mechanic but I'm committed to learn and gradually my knowledge is increasing. I want to understand the wiring looms and have found and fixed a couple of issues on the car but its a big hole to loose yourself in 😆. For a middle aged woman im up for the challenge.
I strongly recommend replacing the dash wiring harness, you will be so glad you did. I have a 1975 coupe and replaced all four harnesses just because of age, and all my lights are very bright ( no yellow headlights) !!
I’m sure you’re right. I know everything was working when I took it apart, but it is old and new wires and connectors would be an improvement. I’m hoping these wires will last until I decide to do an LS swap!
Thanks! Nice to see your progress! I have also considered changing this wiring harness. Check and lube with graphite powder the inner speedo and tach cable before you are completely done.
I talked about that in a prior video. I have an electronic choke (‘78 Qjet) and need to run a new switched on 12v wire. Some say not to run from the fuse panel. Any place that’s ideal? I always like the idea of a relay, but that may be overkill in this case.
