I'm in the midst of replacing my output shaft seal, bushing, trans yoke, and driveshaft u joints. I left you a PM in Facebook about this.... happy holidays!
@hughphillips-diyoutdoors6097 that is true. However, this engine rebuild I'm doing is already done, back in the car, and back in the owner's hands to break her in. Takes lots of extra time to film this stuff but another opportunity will arise I'm sure.
@AlfsMustangGarage lol. Just like me......day late dollar short. I'm almost finished with my 67. Got the new headliner dry fitted in. Waited 5 weeks for my 1829 weld on headliner glue to come in. The day after it came in, my back gave out. Just had my 3rd back surgery. So. Now I'm down for at least 6 weeks. All I got to do is put my car back together. And it's done. I have everything for it. I just had to wait forever on the glue. If you were closer, I would just pay you to do it. Rather than waiting 6 weeks. Now I won't get it done before fall. At that point. She will get put in storage till next year.
@AlfsMustangGarage if you got 2 minutes.....please watch my short video on a custom spare tire holder I did. I have spent hours and hours watching your videos. I learned a lot from them. I like DIY projects. Please watch this one and give me an honest opinion. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rz8kbcfJOsU.html
Nice video, but you don't ever use silicone on any auto trans.because if any gets inside and breaks looks will stick in the valve body.use high tach spray on gaskets away from the trans internals.
Would a sticking governor be one of the main reasons preventing the transmission from going into 3rd gear in an 1987 f150 with a C6 with 56,000 miles....all the other gears shift great?
Thank you for the video! How do you remove the reverse servo on the C4? Do you loosen the band to get the servo to come out? Need to replace mine. Appreciate any help!
So I'm not overly experienced with the internals of the C4. Just from doing some light research, you want to be careful if attempting to remove it without pulling the valve body. There are some wedges on the band that could possibly fall down when taking tension off. Watch some videos and read some forums but ultimately I have a guy that does all my major trans work and one of these days, I will teach myself how to rebuild one of these but I haven't gotten there yet. Good luck!
