You did well to get across Woking Junction without being checked to a stand. Woking box is nicknamed "the crucible" for good reason by a lot of crews.

Great video. Those tampers rattle and bang about quite a bit - rather like the old electric trains I used to ride in 50 years ago.

I always assumed the whole of the southern region was electrified, I’m surprised by how much isn’t. All down to cost I guess, and how busy the stations are.

Great video! Not sure if you cover these areas, but are you able to make any videos of the Windsor/Reading lines, the Hounslow or Kingston loops, Shepperton, Chertsey or Frimley branches? I'm trying to gather some research for route building a train sim route and there's nothing recent available on those lines. The only thing I have is from 2005!

The spur from Shalford to the site of Peasmarsh Junction never had track laid on it.

A nice ride to Woking from Redhill. Is the train we came on a freight train or an empty passenger train just being taken on a trial run?

The spur at Shalford to go direct towards Portsmouth was never completed. The earthworks were completed but that's as far as it got.
