Didn't he get kicked out of a couple of high school games for complaining about the refs? I've never seen that before! He sees himself in her when she complains she was fouled when ever she misses! That's where she gets it!
Obviously, this mother and this father did a lot of things very right raising this superstar. His social media advice is spot on! Keep up the good work
Mr Brent Clark also speaks so clearly and thoughtfully. I sense they have been great parents. Caitlin projects herself so well. Great video, I enjoyed it so much!. ( children need to be raised y 2 parents. the family unit is so important to their development. it is sad to see how many players in NBA come from single parent homes. We need to keep the family together. (Congress is not helping us with all their hand outs?)
I’ll be honest, Caitlin is the reason why I follow women’s basketball and the University of Iowa. My son also lives in Iowa City and attends the university.
She is an amazing and generational talent. She has the basketball IQ of Larry Bird, the court vision of Magic Johnson, the long range accuracy of Steph Curry, the Mamba Mentality of Kobe, and the clutch DNA of Michael Jordan, a perfect mix of the greats rolled in one person.....but with a ponytail. I for one will be following her career with great pleasure
Her dad is exactly right half the people are going to love to watch your play and wish you the very best. And the other half are going to bellyache and complain. Those are the ones she will have to completely ignore. Fortunately, being from Iowa, I am one of the half that loves to watch her play so good work ,nice family , good luck. 👍
Staying away from social media is golden advice. Be private. Let people guess. Endorsements will follow her court achievements. People compare her to Bird. That’s wise. Now follow Bird’s example in his personal life. Stay out of social media and the drama. Long career if she’ll follow that recipe.
He's obviously a great guy who helps her remain in balance. Caitlyn has had a great role model and I'm sure her mother is much the same. Gotta love those Midwesterners!
While he was realistic, he also had that critical dad voice. Gees. Give Caitlyn her due, Dad - just acknowledge her greatness, without qualifiers. She’ll take it from there.
The shot of her interacting with the younger girls was special. Clark is a good role model for all the youngsters coming up. In 10 years there will be a BB star that said she modeled her career after Caitlyn Clark.
@@joancarlson5218 you gotta be real dumb to think you get that “lucky” shooting 3’a from that distance. She definitely has shooting skill and her passing it well above average for a woman.
The first time I saw her play was on the U19 USA FIBA team in 2019 and realized that, even with limited playing time, she was a special talent. But in no way did I predict she'd be this good. That she seems equally well-rounded and grounded in facing the pressure of expectations and fame makes me love her even more. I hope she stays healthy and plays for decades. I'd really enjoy seeing her anchor the Women's USA Olympic and World Cup teams in the coming years. GO CAITLIN!
I love hearing Brent talk about Caitlin. I could never sit as still and almost motionless if that were my kid. I remember when my boys were young and played football. I probably annoyed other moms as I cheered for them and their teams, but I loved watching them enjoy the game so much.
Not going to lie, three weeks ago I didn't know who she was, and that's my bad. Wow, what a ball player. Probably the best thing that could happen to the WNBA. I love her cocky attitude and overall confidence. You don't usually see that in a chick. Good luck to her against LSU. I definitely will root for her as I'm not a big SEC fan. Her parents should be proud, she's a game changing, generational player.
@@sbtimeport8 I thought I was the only one who saw her whine and complain that she was being fouled every time she missed a contested shot. More complaining than running back to play "D"with her teammates.
Caitlin keep doing what ur good at b who ur I believe the best is yet to come 4u, although u didn't recieve the top goal, still have some chances yet keep being a role model for younger girls to let them know if they work hard someday they can achieve some of the same goals was taught @ early age kindness always win pass it on, sometimes maybe not right away but u will b rewarded always b better not bitter, congratulations on the season I honestly thought your team handled the game better by for now a retired military veteran who thought your team had a awesome year. Hold your head up high.
LSU also has plenty of good players. Caitlin has the same intense styles of play, competitiveness and trash talking actions as any of LSU's players. Both teams have top athletes. No reason to bash her opponents in the tournament while praising Caitlin.
@@kimlinden2280 Yes they do and yes she does, but I think Clarke also would of used better judgment at games end. Even the one game announcer thought it was a little much. In the end if your going to dish it out you better be ready to take it too. There Clarke showed class, I doubt any LSU player could of done that.
If you're prejudice against Black players, just say that Kyle. There's literally nothing that those LSU players have done on the court that hasn't been done by hundreds of basketball players in the past, including your white savior Caitlin.
If you're prejudice against Black players just say that Kyle. There's literally nothing those LSU players have done that hasn't been done by countless other competitive athletes. The infamous hand gesture you all love to point to was done by Caitlin first and yet you don't call her classless. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to know why.
It's really a lot of little things that he's speaking of, nuances of the game if you will. I was a pretty good AAU baller back in my day. I always felt like I had so many things to fix about my game, no one else saw any of that.
I went to Auburn, and when I was there the women's team were 2nd in the NCAA 4 out of 5 years. I played pickup with them women a lot, and I have good skills. I am a 6'4" guy (played DIII basketball), and on Auburn women's team I could have started at shooting guard or small forward. I would've gotten CRUSHED inside, as center or power forward, as I am WAY too small. Even though their team was great, they had NO ONE who was even close in ability to Caitlin...NOWHERE close. She moves smoothly and effortlessly with the ball, and has the vision and passing ability like an NFL quarterback...AMAZING long-ball passes. Her long-distance shooting skills were WAY better than most guys playing college basketball. The only guy I saw in person/played against (pickup) who could shoot more long distance, easily, was Chuck Person. She could've started at shooting guard in the vast majority of guy's teams in today's college basketball (counting ALL the 4 year colleges, not just DI). She would be too slow to play point guard, and too small for small forward, but her shooting and passing is the key for the shooting guard position. We used to watch SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design), who was DIII. They had a girl as backup point guard, as they had no women's team (brand new school). Caitlin could've started at point guard, shooting guard or small forward for them, and they would've won a ton more games. When I played DIII, we played at GA Tech and lost by 4...we led almost the whole game. If Caitlin played for us, as shooting guard, we would have won, EASILY, if we had a three point line. Two of my grandparents were from Iowa (my parents went to Iowa State), and my Michigan grandparent went to Iowa, where his uncle was Professor of Physics at Iowa. He did field events for Iowa Track and Field and qualified for the US Olympic Trials, but didn't have the money to get there by train, so couldn't go. I also used to know the Iowa VB coach. Good to see Iowa showcased on the national scene...
If social media published the hours, days, weeks, months, years, decades that she has spent working to improve her skills they would have a true story to tell. Her intensity and untiring effort are a result of conditioning over time. She appears to have the perfect family support throughout the years. Her shooting skill is but a small portion of the why she outshines all others. Attitude, conditioning, passing, dribbling and game awareness all play a part of Caitlin Clark.
Let me recommend the BEST documentary I have seen of her, since she was a child. The channel is called HAZZ and the title is "The Caitlin Clark Effect". I was floored when I watched that. Any critic of hers MUST watch that and they will--if they are human--change their tune. People are actually saying she was handed everything because she is white. Despicable. SHE'S BEEN BALLING SINCE AGE FIVE.....watch the video. Thank me later.
She the best iv ever seen in women ball she has no idea just how good she is I'll be so glad to watch her game this up come session. Thanks Kalyan.HEY IM A KENTUCKY FAN AND NOW IM A IOWA FAN NOW ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW
YEAH Mr Clark Seems really Cool about thing's. FGD He'll Admit that He & His Wife aren't The Superman Couple. Or that His Daughter is of Supernatural Power's Either. But He will definitely Agree That She has Talent's? She has YET too Fulfill even on The Basketball Court. I Personally Think that is Super Cool 😎😎 of Him. Thanks for Sharing.
FALSE: First, MANY two parent families have TERRIBLE kids. AND, it sometimes has NOTHING to do with the parents. Second, some families with one parent do a GREAT job of parenting, and have great kids...even with NO parents...some families and kids do great. THIRD: The nuclear family (two parents in a home, in modern society), was a TERRIBLE idea, and it has wasted the talents of so many of Our Kids. Tribal/village living, like we ALL used to do, is WAY more efficient than two-parent families. In traditional living, ALL the kids in the village, had MULTIPLE parents, and MULTIPLE supporting brothers and sisters, and adults, to help them reach their full potential.
@@atpcliff That's a fair statement, you say what you believe, I did not say there were not other options or the other options could not produce a well rounded person. Thanks for the input. Have a good day.
I think the only flaw in her game is she is only a average defensive player. But offensively she is a dynamo . Her attitude and love, passion for the game is outstanding.
I find no fault with a superstar, so long as she does not spit in your face or punch you out. I find fault with addicts, bumps, thieves. #22 can do no wrong in my eyes.
there is always a lot of room for improvement. Jack Nicklaus essentially summed it up when he pointed out that no one had ever shot a round of golf with a score of 18. yet.
The best players like Brady, Jeter, Bonds, Kobe, Jordan, ETC, never are content. The great ones alwsys gotta keep working harder, and harder, and harder
IMO the real question is where does BB (mens and womens) go after this? The three point line has to be changed or eliminated. What will the changes be and what will the effect of the changes be?
She’s a A super star because she can flatnout ball.. In my himble opinion one who gollows and supports girls and women’s basketball long bedore she arrived.she is the was the best poy womens bball player for the past 3 years. That’s my humble opinion one who’s played the game many years and who has coach girls basketball for over 25years. She is the truth. and that’s not daddy ball it’s a rwal fan
Rock star like Mia Hamm, Danica Patrick, Michelle Wie, Hope Solo and Rebecca Lobo out of UConn. Once she gets to the WNBA she'll blend in and forgotten about nicely.......
Dad’s wrong about one thing. The fifty fifty thing of 50% not liking her. Only her competition may not like her. The rest of us are rooting for her all the way. Good job Dad
She has ice water in her veins. He handles the pressure. She wants the ball in pressure situations. Those are skills only the elite of the elite have. I always called it the killer instinct. Larry Bird had it, Michael Jordan had it, Kobe Bryant had it.
With her quick release, there could a role for her in the NBA. ..just saying and with her star power think of the money she’d bring to the league. Forget the wnba she is too good for that league
