Although it has a troll-feel to it, the project has an aesthetically pleasing atmosphere. It's spacey, relaxed - It's unique in its own way; it has pretty good vocal-editing to it, too. I'm unsure if Fantano did this project on his own, but it is actually quite cohesive and semi-engaging which makes it listen-able. If it were a collective of remixes with no plot or skits, it would be a tragic listen. But "Cal" made it his own, which makes it much easier to vibe to. - The story holds the mixtape together - Despite it being troll, it has its own personality. - Cal tells a pretty cool story. - Reminiscent of Tyler, The Creators and his collective of little characters to keep his albums together. - Beats are relaxed and the vocal edits are cool - Showed a mastery of editing. - Flow was consistent through the project. - The skits were intriguing. After-thought: Story-telling shines, no matter the level of fuckery lmao. Has an above-average understanding of structuring a song and project. It's actually impressive. He has some cool shit that is getting over-looked. I'm feeling a light to halfway decent 8.

I saw Cal Chuchesta at a grocery store in Los Angeles the other day. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

Halfway through I completely forgot that Anthony is still playing both him and Cal. His genuine "I'm so done with this" mood and Cal's whacky energy are on two opposite ends of the character spectrum, really good acting to say the least

Cal’s mixtape is an incredibly nuanced and intellectual album. It tells the story of a common, raw man like Cal Chuchesta against the “bigs”, the role models and standards of today’s society. As someone like Cal, a man a slave to his emotions, attempts to be a “big”, we discover that these “bigs” sacrifice their humanity to their art. Cal comes closer and closer to his humanity being lost as his style of “the true picture” and emotions blended ironically loses its emotion, and Cal becomes angry. Angry at the world, humanity, and the people that are not good enough for him. The longer he goes on, he remembers what humanity really is, what made Cal such a cultural icon. The ending of this tape is interpretive and intense, as Chuchesta discovers that his friends, which are people like him, a human version of “the bigs”, which make Cal happy. But Cal himself is now one of the bigs. Whether he knows that or not is our problem, not his.
