I think the bears are ready to start winning football games next year. And progress was made in 2023. Run it back with fields. Do not gamble away 2024. Look what happened to Carolina. They thought they would be playing in the playoffs and they took a step back in their rebuild by taking a gamble on a 1OA QB. They tanked without even trying. Poles wants wins. I predict a haul for 1OA and add legit talent on both sides of the ball.

I would take Justin, MHJ and top edge rusher (at 9) plus whatever draft capital they can get over Caleb and edge (at 9) and whatever draft capital they can get for Justin. Even if Caleb has more upside than Justin (I do not agree), you do not need it - see Goff who was at best middle and inconsistent until he got 1. weapons, 2. dominant O line and 3. a competent OC. Ben Johnson O - simple, QB friendly and purposeful v. Getsy O - overly complex, not QB freindly and random....

Remember we get 6 draft picks now but we’re going to be getting a extra 2-3rd round comp. picks because of the Assistant GM is going to work for a another Team as a GM then the Rooney rule kicks in, so then we will have 8 draft picks without doing anything special, without trading down or anything, so we should have a total of 8 picks…..

Trade down. The value of just the picks (no players) they can get for #1 could easily translate into a shot at four or five starting caliber players in the next two years. Using the pick for one player can't match that for a team that still needs help at multiple positions.

Honestly it seems you both act like and talk like you’re both General Managers of an NFL team. You’re sports writers! I’ve responded to the Athletic on your articles asking a few times to write about Getsy’s play calling. Then the only piece written was a soft one. I’ve said many times that the Bears should never have hired a Rookie Offensive Coordinator. Getsy did not have the knowledge or experience to teach Fields or any quarterback. I am not knowledgeable about what quarterback to keep or trade but I do know that this show and the Athletic has not written about Fields in any kind of light that shows the kind of player he is. I’m not saying to keep Fields or draft another quarterback. All I’m saying is write a fair and honest review of his leadership skills and his work habits and how much the players stand by his side. Williams has a lot of bad habits and his mechanics suck. He is also short, holds the ball too long, fumbles a LOT, knows only one-read plays and then chucks it up for grabs. He looks a lot more like the next Bryce Young than the next Patrick Mahomes. Young was the overwhelming choice to be the first pick in the draft last year , then he sucked for the very same reasons Williams will probably fail, and then everyone gushed over CJ Stroud. The "experts had no idea Stroud was going to play this well so it is all after the fact. Caleb Williams is not the opportunity of a lifetime QB that people hype him up to be.

Cool lets get Caleb! We can look forward to being competitave in 2-3 years. What a fucking joke.
