I discuss my 11 month journey of trying to recalibrate my truck after doing a single wheel conversion and putting on 40 inch tires. I go through all of the different products I tired and what worked and what didn't.
Please go check out and subscribe to my friend Kevin at his channel: RAM 5500 Camper Thing
He has chronicled his truck build journey and I have learned a lot from him.

I did my super single through DBL design and I had them re-gear the front and rear axle from 4.88 to 6.17… the logic is that the larger gear does not over heat your transmission. I get 14 around town on my F550 10 speed trans and 12 mpg fully loaded
@Tlicious726
@Tlicious726 2 года назад
How many miles on that? I’ve been researching for over a year now and most of the BDL stores I hear are “ehh it’s ok” to “I hope they go out of business”.

@@Tlicious726 they have a solid crew there now, they had some clowns working in the back in the past which screwed up big time, they have made everything right on what needed to be corrected and then some. The biggest problems I have are Ford factory issues. I drove my truck from NJ to Oregon and back and got 16 mpg

So you made a 15 minute long video about not following the instructions or entering 40" tires...on 40" tires. Awesome truck.
@KruseandViews

Glad it was helpful! Haha, just kidding. The whole point I was trying to make was don't let other people tell you the tire size or what the size is with air in it... go off of the printed size. I messed up and was going smaller than what they were. Thanks for watching my friend.
@carmas54

Lol I waited to the end before I committed… I was going to tell you to measure the height of your spare and not the height of your tire under load. When mentioned 30 inches :-)
@KruseandViews

Haha, I know... I cant believe a quarter of an inch made all the difference in the world!

OK ... maybe I don't get, but why not run your truck over a measured distance say 10 km and see what your odometer reads. The ratio between that reading and the distance should be your correction factor for your speed and mileage. What am I missing? Henri (RVing with Henri)

one thing I'll mention. if you think your digital fuel consumption estimator is accurate from my experience it almost never is accurate. most estimators are at least 5mpg off in nearly every vehicle I've done volumetric true comparisons against. my guess if it says you are getting say 9. something it's probably less than what the estimator estimates.

Why not try 40.6, which is what Continental says their actual tire measurement is?

Where did you see that information? Can you send me the link?
