Since Season 5 is going to be Vanguard's last season (thank f*ckin god), Mid-season updated guns will be included in a full showcase. What have this game become, it's physically painful.
"BUT THE STORY OF THE SEASONS IS NOW IN THE 1970" Still doesn't make this any less mind-numbingly painful. I thought no game could be worse than BO4...and here we are.
This game truly experienced the modern AAA season pass experience. Season 1: okay here's some prototype guns you can turn into mall ninja shit Season 5: *okay here's a fucking railgun and a contemporary rifle*
You gotta love how this technologically sophisticated particle accelerator which fell into the time portal one fateful day somehow uses these fragile reflector sights of the time period it got lost in. I would have expected target-tracking holographic sights, but what do I know?
My headcannon for why the ex1 is here is that some dudes with time travel tech thought about what would happen if they sent one of their laser rifles back in time during ww2
Oh hey my Grandma told me about this, he used to carry one of the good ol' EX-1 with the Terminator out in D-Day. His friends said he wrecked the entire battlefield... I miss him a lot
@@TheRealEnragedTaco15 Nice! Iirc, was there Snoop Dog as well? My grandpa's brothers told me Snoop Dog went sliding and jumping on the battlefield with 2 Snipers on his hands
The community: Sledgehammer please! The FG-42 is right there. A proper world War 2 weapon that everybody knows. For the love of God, please add it to the game! Sledgehammer (After snorting a line of radioactive cocaine): Nah, laser gun.
I thought you were fucking with me with the laser gun in the thumbnail. Jesus Christ we knew that they weren’t trying anymore, but now it feels like the devs are just deliberately fucking with us out of spite
This game is so historically accurate, with people that weren’t even alive back then as operator skins and guns from 2054, such an educational experience.
Anachronistic weapons no longer applied Mostly with the later firearms Than obsolete firearms Had we diluted the use of, Dieselpunk? The Dumonthier happened like the SAA from Sledgehammer's WWII
Important rules to follow: 3. Don't talk with strangers 2. Stay healthy 1. Never trust Slegehammer Games calling their product a "historically accurate experience"
Okay, you love the rifle. Okay, you are glad that it came back. No problem with it. But in a WWII game that was sold as a WWII documentary? And a game that the developers SAID it was going to be the definitive WWII simulator? That's not cool. That's bullshit
The moment I see a weapon from AW, I somehow knew Vanguard would be going way off. In fact, one of my favourite RU-vid channel made a cursed version of that energy-based weapon, and made a time paradox meme 😂 "TIME PARADOX!!"
I remember my Filipino grandpa who was a guerilla fighter ambushed a Japanese column with a laser rifle and his friends, it was truly the greatest moment on his life.
regardless of that laser beam assault rifle, I still can’t get over the about why they always add some kinds of prototype weapons or the some rare weapons when there’re still many weapons that actually have been used in ww2 but didn’t appear in this game
I need to get back on and see how busted the laser weapon is. This game has been fun simply because of how broken it is. The last thing I ever expected though is that laser gun. But it’s COD, you don’t really come to expect authenticity past launch week, so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.
@@HLGmatrix1 I’m being sarcastic, I really don’t see any reason why anyone should be happy with what sledgehammer does or adds in to their content. They are LITERALLY the embodiment of lazy!
Man, thank goodness that MW2 2022 is coming out soon, and we can all put this mess behind us. Even if that game turns out to be mediocre, at least it’ll have a setting that makes more sense to include these sorts of guns than whatever the heck Vanguard is supposed to be.
The most painful part is, they put the most effort out of all the weapons by far into the ex-1. At this rate id love a future cod game, let the imagination run wild tbh
I know I'm nitpicking but the EX-1 feels like a more downgraded EM-1, It doesn't have the same BWAAAAAAAARP sound the EM-1 had and it's now more of a BRRRRRRT with some bass slapped in, the operator just casually flails the gun with one hand while inspecting it as if it isn't some heavy ass gun, despite in AW where your guy wore an exo-suit, the EM-1 still felt very heavy and clunky to use, in Vanguard, dude just handles it like a toy. There's also the fact that it doesn't have it's signature overheat style of magazine but instead you get a fixed 60 round clip with unlimited reserve, what's also shitty is the fact that it uses standard cookie cutter irons instead of the semi holographic sight the EM-1 had in AW. Still, I do appreciate SG slapping this shit into a """WW2""" game. They really don't care if this game is barely accurate or not and it makes me wonder if they just wanted to make Advanced Warfare 2 instead of Vanguard but Activision said "no" fearing it would flop like it did with Infinite warfare and Blops4.
Imagine thinking Advanced Warfare was such a landmark CoD game that you bring back one of its weapons... in a WW2 setting... _Advanced Warfare, of all games_
I definitely remember my Chinese grandfather fought the Japanese with the EX1 rifle he picked up from a dead soldier, and started to kill the Japanese soldiers there and even destroyed bunkers and tanks with ease
Sledgehammer Games apperently found finding ww2 weapons to put into Vanguard is too difficult for them, so they went back and pull a gun straight out of Advanced Warfare.
It's sad to see how little Sledgehammer cares. I mean, IW cared about all the fine details, and Treyarch cared about player experience. Sledgehammer cares about...basically nothing because this game screwed over everyone associated with it
I fucking hate when COD devs contradict their own game, and refuse to give a randomly specific weapon any unrealistic attachments. We waited 4 whole seasons to finally get a DLC pistol, and they don’t let us add ANY attachments to it? Why?? It’s not like they haven’t been coming up with fake attachments for every single weapon in the game.. why can’t they add any attachments to the new revolver??? Yet they’ll give a laser cannon all the love and attention.
I hope Sledgehammer releases AW2 this year because there is too many boots on the ground cod this year and it'd be a fresh breathe of air to see a jetpack cod again Also I'd like to see a modern jetpack cod because I like to see the amalgamations you can make with the futuristic gunsmith
I don't have a problem with the EX1 on its own. The EM1 was awesome in AW, and at this point historical accuracy is well past dead for Vanguard. What I _do_ have a problem with is how it doesn't even try to fit the aesthetic. Like at least paint it olive green or grey, or some other color you'd see a lot of on WW2-era equipment. Give it a wooden stock. Just _something_ so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. Also why is it chambered in 7.62? I get maybe needing using a random ammo type as a placeholder in the code, but why state that in-game when it very clearly isn't? Just say "Directed Energy" or something. It generates its own ammo so it's not like you need to scavenge other weapons.
Devs: We need WWII weapons for our game and they have to be *Realistic* . What should we add? Some random MF: Let’s add a f*cking laser gun. Will make the experience 10x more realistic A actually sane dude: why not add tanks? Devs: Your fired. We asked for a Realistic experience. Tanks weren’t invented during WWII. Otherwise the Americans would’ve won. (I know this game is not historically accurate so why should the devs think that America won against the Germans?)
Can you do an update on Black Ops Cold War, and for correction, the XM4 Carbine is a Colt 720. The Colt 727 is a complete different gun and it wasn’t part of the M4 prototype.
First, no. Im not gonna do a remake. Second, I never said XM4 in-game is Model 727. I said it was an XM177E1. Third. Either Model 727 and XM177E1 is a variant from the CAR-15 family. Which is essentially where M4 succeeded from.
@@M4skedBoi I'm actually talking about the M16 blueprint. The term CAR-15 was for Colt AR-15 throughout the early 60's, but the military at the time calls ever M16 Carbines CAR-15, which in reality there's a Colt 606 (CAR-15 HBAR), and the M16 was also known as the CAR-15 Rifle. The XM4 was developed in 1983 from the XM177E2 and the Colt 727 was developed in 1988 from the Colt 723, which came from the Colt 653. The difference between the later 1986 XM4 and the Colt 727 (also known as the M16A2 Government Carbine or simply M16A2 Carbine) is the XM4 is a burst weapon while the Colt 727 is a full auto weapon.
Tbh tho, Sledgehammer Games isn't exactly following the details (historical accuracy, gun handling, etc.) as you can see in every Call of Duty games they had made. So in hindsight, somebody need to tell them to pay attention to the details more seriously now.
What’s up guys, it’s Ian McCollum here with Forgotten Weapons, and today we’re looking at the EX1 laser rifle. This rifle is truly a marvelous design, and it was used by the fantastic African American, lesbian, transgender woman from Great Britain who personally killed Hitler with this rifle.
I don't mind fictional customizations cause it brings a wider customization for weapons, without them, customization would be boring bUt WhY a RaIl GuN
*Insert xQc WOW CLAP clip* what's more frustrating is they brought Raul fucking MENENDEZ that is somehow he in his 50s or somewhere near the event of MW 2019(particularly 2009 captive mission). fuck it man, don't care about this weird ass game anymore MWII is just ahead and i'm all for it.
@@sendalmasjid3826. I don't think his age is specifically stated in Black Ops 2, might have been in a few cutscenes, but given he's already an adult by the time we first meet him in 1986, and that half of Black Ops 2 is set in 2025 almost 40 years later, I suspect him to be around the same age as Alex Mason if not slightly younger. Keep in mind that Alex Mason was apparently born in the mid 1940's around the end of the Second World War, so he's in his 20's when Black Ops 1 takes place, and is in his 40's during the 1980's portion of Black Ops 2. Meanwhile Raul is most likely around the same age as Mason when his sister is killed, and is obviously very old by the time of 2025.
