Looked like he went over the curb and hit it really hard, as he came back over the off-track side of the curb. (The track side of the curb is rounded. The off-track side of the curbs is a small cliff) he hit the "cliff" hard. That Jared the car and BOOM air bags IMO
Yeah, I could see that happening. It’s just hard to tell but you can’t really see any impact. Maybe the suspension is so stiff, triggered and transferred that energy.
@phelpsgarage4202 Sounds about right. Stiff suspension meets the off track side of the curbs = one heck of a jolt. That is really unfortunate either way
Here because my Camaro ss air bags just recently deployed in the same manner I hit an apex at streets of willow / wondering if I was the only one but it seems it’s something about stiffness on chassis I too have lots of suspension upgrades and car is rather stiff/ my best advice to anybody tracking the fifth gen ss is remove air bag Fuses before tracking and place back after the day /
Never seen that happen before. Shit, I got T-boned once in a little 96 civic hatch and the airbags didn't deploy. He hit a pebble on the road the side ones went off. Glad to see he and the camaro are okay.
You need to find out what resister is required to bypass them. so the vehicle think the bags are still there. You only should do this in a dedicated track car though. Glad to see only feeling got hurt and the wallet some too.
You are too forgiving for the manufacturer. That’s straight up ridiculous. Both sides deployed. What in the heck - stiffer or not. The tech in that car is straight up pathetic. Get the Monaro or Pontiac G8 and have a similar handling car that doesn’t try to distract you mid race.
