I am making a Star Trek Online based tv show and this would be such a great tool for my needs!!! I already made two episodes but with this i think it can be even better! Thank you so much bro: this is the video i just needed!
This video has made me reconsider having a Romulan character. You have recruited another Champion for the Romulan Faction. Thank you for making this amazing video.
Instead of loading via command line, have you ever used STODemoLauncher? It utilizes a filter option that allows you to take out any FX you choose. Say you have the "Attack Pattern Alpha" logo light up over your ship, you can use the filters to isolate and eliminate it from the demo record file. I find it very useful.
I thought about mentioning it but the video was long enough already. I'll be doing an escort one next and planned to mention it then. I don't really use that program except for the nice looking like of demo files I currently have as well as an easy way to backup a file. If you are making a video and recording a demo specifically for that purpose it is probably a better idea not to activate things and deactivate traits.
True. Sometimes though I find myself already in battle and decide to demo record. So being able to use the filters in the launcher comes in handy in cases like that. I just tried watching your 3 part series on BOFFs and all of that math started giving me a head ache!
Jon Collins I realised that might happen to some people but the moral to that story is don't assume the percentage on gear adds that percentage. The other vids don't have math in them. I'll get to do the others eventually
Great video. One question if I may...how to you usually make videos (using demos)? Do you record 1 demo and then edit it or do you record→stop→record again→stop again etc. etc. ?
I really need some help. I am making a fan film and I need some scenes so I can get rolling and maybe even do a go fund me to help with production costs (including future special effects). I need a video of a space time rift forming and an "Aeon" type time ship comes through it. There would be the USS Yorktown (NCC 1717 TOS era Constitution class) in it's path. The Aeon circles the Yorktown as it tries to keep the smaller ship from circling and entering the aft hanger bay. (It takes control of the Yorktowns rear shields, lowers them and opens the bay, then lands inside.) (no shots fired). Then in the next scene , as the rift had started to close, it opens up energetically and in comes a Wells Class Timeship (not sure how the size of it would compare to the Yorktown, but at least as big if not bigger. and stops Nose to nose, maybe the camera circles the two... Any chance you could create something like that?
Out of interest, how do you move the .demo file into a watchable format that can be edited? I've looked everywhere on the internet but I cant find any converters or tutorials, but I would really like to be able to edit my clip I made! Awesome video as well by the way! Never knew of the camera until I cam across this!
Have you ever messed around with the "Orbit" and "Look Around" paths in demo record? I'm trying to figure out how to manipulate what the camera 'sees' and not having much luck.
That really sucks. I've been trying to get a demo record of the interior of DS9, in a circular path, looking toward the shop fronts, as opposed to the direction of Quarks and the lifts. It is impossible to get a clean path around using 'easy path'...you know what I mean? I've been trying to experiment with 'orbit' and 'look around' on the Colony World...big open spaces so I can easily see the paths without obstructions. Haven't had any luck in being able to "flip" the camera so it looks in the opposite direction...yet. I'm not ready to give up, darn it! lol
That was 'easy' path? That's probably what I have to end up using. I was hoping to be able to use "orbit", but with the camera flipped around so it would be a smooth path. Oh well.
I'm sure you watched it all so that you can follow right behind me...... And, ummm, no capital D needed for describe since there wasn't a full stop before it. Fingers probably slipped, yeah?
It’s definitely possible. I used to insert, change and remove NPCs as I needed to. It is very difficult to explain and something I don’t usually disclose. In your case, I’d reshoot the scene or choose a different camera position or tighten the FOV to the ship or character central to your story or even have another player hell you and choreograph the entire shoot and splice together in the edit with a particular focus on continuity so that the watcher believes it is one single scene
@@snipey47a well I can try. I need to replay the mission. Its with an npc I cant rally. She moves on her own in the mission to random spots in a circle around me. I would assume its a dev thing to at least turn them invisible.
