Wow I will definitely be putting a stage 3 cam on my 03 Lightning when I get the time and money. Sounds amazing. I deleted all 4 cats on mine and added boost activated cutouts. It really freaks people out but is totally not street legal lol.
Yeah cat deletes brings out such a good tone but Thats crazy! I didnt know there was boost activated cut outs lol i wanted some electric ones, i said nah its pretty loud as is lol luckily most of my neighbors are car people and dont mind the sound
Sounds great I have a true I just pickup last fall waiting to do a build this spring...does this have cats? I wanted to get rid of them but some people say they don’t like it
Appreciate it, no i dont have cats even before the cam i didnt have cats and it sounded really good in my opinion, it is louder but it depends on your muffler as well
You probably already know by now, but they run slower quarter mile times without cats with the stock blower and low boost. If you have a bigger blower definitely take them out.
I have an 01 Harley edition and this is what I dream of it sounding like. Still the stock blower? I read the comments and seen you said it had a stage 3 comp cam and manley internals. This thing is nuts!
How much did they charge you for the built motor and cams? And what place? I want to cam mine a get a lower 6lb pulley but I can’t decided where to go yet
I got my cams and built at the same time so it was just about 8k but if you just want to get built should be around 6-6.5k if you want to add cams should be any where from 1.5-2.5k depending on parts and supporting mods and doing the 6lb lower should be the easiest rn motor shouldn’t blow with a good tune anything over 6lb on a stock motor is kinda pushing it
If anyone needs help with a cam install or removing the heads comment here and I'll reply back with any help I can pass along. Had a spark plug blow out on #4 cylinder and just did a jlp head swap with stage 3 cams. Was a pain but so worth it. -1 on JLP tho because the heads leaked oil out of the blocked off oil galleys. Definitely their fault, but they made it a pain for anything to get fixed. I forced them to pay a mechanic to have it fixed considering I had done the install perfectly and wasn't about to fix their mess for free. Go trickflow with the heads. That way you install your own npt fittings and can make sure they're not gonna leak.

Yeah my head isnt upgraded other than valve springs and retainers, bottom end should hold up to 450whp ish more if you’re on low boost cams shouldn’t give you too much hp you benefit from them when you’re on high boost you would probably get 40-60whp extra from the cam

Stage 3 comp cams, motor is built Manley forged rods and pistons, stock heads just supporting mods for cams, full bolt ons with a GT500 supercharger, trans just has a upgraded valve body and larger converter

Juice Box yeah 5.4/4.6 are basically the same motor you can interchange some parts you can probably find some cheap supercharger set up off of a lightning they don’t go for that much since they’re kinda small superchargers stock
With these cams i can rev the engine up to 6.5k but i have it tuned to 6k do the oem blower restricting the motor, the truck feels good from 0 to about 120 ish after that truck doesnt feel as fast really dies down after that
@@josepaisano7673 im pretty sure straight pipe is a lot more raspy and loud, mufflers would give it a deeper less raspy sound, mine are the bassani race mufflers so they’re little
Not quite sure its on a street tune right now im guessing maybe around 500-550, ive been trying to go to get on the dyno to see how much ill most likely post a vid when i do
