Indeed, The only time that pot of greed will not be good is if they make better cards and they become standard. Every single deck in the entire game would run it at max . Maybe a few whose engine is too big to fit It wouldn't but that is the only exception

I think the confusion probably comes from their being a DIVINE attribute and a Divine-Beast type. If you don't realise they both exist, and that attributes are all caps, it would look out of place.

​@@VVheeli There's a reason for Dark Witch being a LIGHT Fairy... the TCG chose a HORRIBLE name, and this seemed to happen a lot in the early days. The OCG name for the card is Valkyrie! Same with Dunames Dark Witch (Dunamis Valkyria in OCG) whose 3 "retrains" all used Valkyria in their names (Dark Valkyria, Chaos Valkyria and Power Angel Valkyria).

The English name for that card isn't official, since it's a Rush Duel card. Technically this is a valid translation of the Japanese. The effect is very similar too, except the Rush Duel card only prevents spells for the rest of the turn, not the duel.

Actually I will teach you. Drawing means you draw from the TOP OF YOUR DECK FACE DOWN. What maxx c does is ADD a card which means you get to look at the cards in your deck and choose one no matter where it is in the deck.

In tournaments, whenever they would be forced to show their Backrow, players would just INSTANTLY scoop instead so the cheating wouldn’t be found out. And while you can claim this makes cheating obvious, they’ll still have benefit of the doubt thanks to cards not actually being revealed and thus won’t be disqualified.

Not every deck, for the same reason decks don't all play 3 Upstart Goblin. For meta archetypes that have abundant fuel, you'd rather see a hand trap going turn 2.

Most decks in master duel still run 3 maxx c which at worst is an upstart and turn skip against most decks. To say pot of greed wouldn’t be meta is crazy.

@@shadowstep1375 Nope, you want handtraps as your turn 0 draw 5. They work as interruption which can potentially prevent your opponent from going +10. Way better than +2. TCG and MD is still catching up to the OCGs meta, so first vs second turn is still important. You'd also prefer Maxx C on hand when forced to go second. It's a hand trap not a deck trap.

There’s no argument you can have that makes not getting free cards viable. Every other pot is limited or banned in someway in every format. I just need one single example and your statements become false. For one deck example, even without mentioning some gimmick archetype, there are no banlist tournaments where half the decklists and usually the winner will not include pot in favor of more handtraps. Tear cards for example go for above +2 anyway so you'd rather mill one of those. So I can argue that pot wouldnt be in atleast one deck. That's one of your statements that's false. For downsides or negatives, understand that pot needs to be played on your turn in order to draw a handtrap. If you go second, pot is a temperory dead card. A downside over live handtraps. More so if your opponent setup a spell negate. So that's one argument, downside, and negative, so those statements have become false. For pots being banned, other cards like change of heart have been unbanned. So cards being banned does not conclude that a card will be in 'every' deck if unbanned. The limited pots aren't in every deck, so that's not part of the logic either. In fact many bans is to stop specific archetypes from becoming too strong. Sky Striker would benefit alot from multiple cycling pots and jars. Maxx C for example is not banned in all formats despite benefiting 'most' decks. So that's another statement proven false. Your final conclusion built on earlier false statement is therefore also false.

I actually run a Valk deck in MD and enjoy the consistency of Time Goddess. It helps out twice too since 1) Valks have hopt effects so skipping to the next turn lets you use their effects again 2) skipping phases let’s you bypass effects that proc those phases, such as that “summon valks from your hand, at the end phase shuffle all monsters into your deck” or DPEs standby phase rez.

Anime cards coming to the real game always makes me happy.

Playing it alongside other spells would be awkward for the possibility of drawing said other spells off it, but the option is certainly nice - and as you point out, drawing exactly 1 unplayable spell after activating Egotism essentially makes Egotism into Upstart, which isn't horrible. SL has its GY effect, Egotism has no Trap lock. Those are the main benifits of the cards. They simply belong in different decks - monster pile for SL, traps with Egotism (and you can arguably pair it with some spells). I would not call either better than the other, because the one that sees more play would always be cardpool/metagame dependant. That said, I do see the argument for calling Egotism better in a vacuum.

Early Yugioh wasn't really concerned about the actual rules of the game. The focus was on putting Yugi in a seemingly unwinnable situation only for him to find a creative solution at the last moment. Yugi was originally going to play a variety of games aswell so the writers didn't find it time effective to write a comprehensive list of rules for a game that was only going to be played for a couple of episodes. Dungeon Dice Monsters is a good example of how each game was going to have it's own rules and be it's own self contained story.

You are correct. This specific Field Bonus wasn’t in the manga. Castle had 4/1200/2500 stats in the manga. This applies to his other monsters, too in similar fashion.

The argument against pot of greed, is mostly that there is no reason to not play pot of greed. There are plenty of cards in yu-gi-oh that are straight +1 without any real drawback, but they at least require building a deck in a specific way to get the full benefit.

i think that's just a bug with the card maker. all of the backrow cards with a type, including the real ones, have that same issue the real tell with town twister, though, is how its text falls apart as soon as you target a card in a column with two or more monsters

Would love to mention that some cards missed the monster in monster card in their German translation. Just minor oversights that did not affect gameplay in any shape or form I assure you (I mean what difference could it make if you counted only monsters or all cards in a GY)

Yeah Pot of Egotism would absolutely see play. A lot of decks only need their spells turn 1 to combo and then don't really care about them.

I knew barrier statue was fake only because the Divine attribute and Divine Beast monster type are only reserved for the “God” cards and only I think like 10 monsters have the “Divine” attribute

The cards were remade via the fake yugioh card maker to give fake cards a fair chance of looking real.

I agree that Stevie is among the worst yugioh content creators to do these videos with, though I should say that Bonfire is a real card, though it only has an OCG print, as of this year.

Idk if id say Master Duel is bad buuuuuuuuuuut it is bad at teaching new players which IS bad. If it had a half-way decent tutorial it would be great.

@@BoxWizard the good thing that Master Duel did is it made easier to know what effects your opponent is using (because it highlights them) and maybe it made it easier to follow the board state. But other than that: it's the same outdated tutorial; a solo mode with gimmicky and bad decks, with stories that are there just to be there; there is no match duels, only single duels; because of that, it made a completely new format that encourages burn strategies... I could go on about the many things I hate about Master Duel, but I am going to finish with: Since they planned to release it on every platform, they should've made it for new players and people who have never seen the game, not making it so it would be easier for current active players who already understand the game.
