@TheFinalLeg Awesome video, as always. Keep it up man.👍 However, I’ve seen a lot of people on social media (including the comment section of this video, and many comment sections of your other videos in Your RU-vid Channel) are already counting Andre De Grasse out in both 100m and 200m this year in Paris, unfortunately. Same thing with Trayvon Bromell and Marvin Bracy. A lot of people on social media are also counting them out in the 100m this year in Paris, unfortunately. So, let’s not be surprised that a lot of people that *hates* Andre De Grasse, Trayvon Bromell and Marvin Bracy, and even *downgrading* their track careers are commenting in this comment section of your videos.

Always appreciate you bro! And yea I hear you about De Grasse. I think most people are discounting him because they: A - He was injured in 2022 and 2023 and hasn't won an individual medal since Tokyo B - They think because he's a slow starter that he is not good in the 100m but fail to realize he is (arguably) the most consistent 100m runner of this current generation having won 4 individual medals at the world's and Olympics. D - Lyles, Knighton, Tebogo have run faster than him over 200m after Tokyo so they assume he can't keep up C - They think he's older but don't realize hes not even 30 yet All these things play into the downplaying of De Grasse's potential this year. But best believe, if he is in the Paris final and healthy, it will be hard to keep him off the podium in both events.

Andre will find it tough in the 100m but rooting for him to get that 9.83 NR hopefully this season & definitely before he leaves the sport. Agree on Zharnel's upside, if he can just get his first 60m right, he can run 9.75 - 9.79 as he closes like a freight train, should've done an indoor 60m season like CC, Noah & Ackeem did! Hasn't false started in a Major Final since '21 Tokyo 100m Final as he now seems to get them out of his system early in the season with his 2 DQs in May '22 & 1 DQ in Mar '23 :) The short sprints are in really good hands considering the mix of experienced Pros & amount of talented sub 10/20s youngsters in not just Tebogo & Knighton but also the likes of Udodi Onwuzurike & Terrence Jones, 🤞 they can all stay healthy & have long careers.
@TheFinalLeg
@TheFinalLeg 3 месяца назад
Yea, Hughes should be around 9.7 high at least. And Agree with the 60m, Andre even said the sole reason he did the 60m a few times this year was to get better at the 100m in pursuit of the record. Even if its marginal improvement, that could be a game changer, especially for someone like Hughes who has Gold medal potential (IMO he could have won Tokyo). But yes, even though we have see so much turn over in the 100m, I like the young talent for not only their potential, but also the competition they will all bring to make things more exciting!
@Yes_I_c4n
@Yes_I_c4n 3 месяца назад
It would require a 6.38s to 6.39s split (at the very minimum) for Hughes to drop a 9.75s. Sorry, but not likely happening. Hughes does not seem to be capable of such a split time at the 60m mark.
@AllInTheGame01
@AllInTheGame01 3 месяца назад
@@Yes_I_c4n Official splits for his 9.83 NR had Zharnel's first 60m @6.51. It's not beyond him to get that down to the 6.44 - 6.47 range which would likely result in a time in the 9.76 - 9.79 range.
@Yes_I_c4n
@Yes_I_c4n 3 месяца назад
@@AllInTheGame01 Those split times are wrong. You can tell that straight away by understanding that his 60....100m split time at 3.32s is just not possible. Hughes is not 3.32s fast. His splits were actually measured more accurately at 6.47s and 3.36s in his 9.83s. 3.36s was an all time best for Hughes by the way, surpassing Lyles' 3.37s PB for instance. So, we can use his 3.36s for reference, even though he didn't run nearly as fast as that in Budapest. But for the sake of argument, let's use 3.36s as benchmark. Like I said, it would then require 6.39s at the 60m mark and I just don't see that happening for Hughes. If Hughes splits 3.40s like he did in Budapest, then it makes it even more impossible, as it would require a 6.35s split at 60m.
@AllInTheGame01
@AllInTheGame01 3 месяца назад
@@Yes_I_c4n Don't know why you're so hellbent on 9.75 ignoring that I deliberately gave a range up to 9.79 which means he'd need 6.43 for his first 60m using 3.36 for his last 40m which is doable. 9.80, 9.86 & 9.83 have literally been the winning times in the last 3 Global 100m Finals, so a 9.79 from Zharnel would literally be the fastest winning 100m time since Coleman's 9.76 in '19 Doha WC Final.

It is to be noted; ALL nine (9) men in the final, representing FIVE (5) countries will go under 10.00seconds; but USA will ONLY grab 1 (ONE) medal of any colour. These gentlemen are hungry for the podium which drive their BEST - PB in the final. Let me say Caribbean, North America, Africa and Europe 100M final in Paris. The ticket price is "nuff' for this race!!! USA 100M - 3 men team will be interesting; it has some of the very best but ONLY 3. probably not a full series like this, maybe just a long video breaking down the current 100m women. But also wanted to get this out before the season really started since basically, no one has run a serious 100m yet. But yea maybe one video for the women in like May/June-ish before USAs or something. Also, I don't think the Women's 100m is as open as the men. Sha'Carri, Shelly, Shericka, Elaine, Tal Lou, Alfred are probably the top players. I think outside of that, most would be surprised to see anyone else win gold. But for the men, yes there are some favorites, but I think Lyles, Coleman, Tebogo, Kerley, Jacobs, Simbine, Omanyala, De Grasse, Hughes, Seville, Bromell, etc. All these guys could hypothetically win gold and it wouldn't be a complete shock (at least IMO)
