Guys there is an update- the mechanic scamed me, there was nothing wrong with the sensor. The issue was the wire connecting key sensor and power was rusty and causing loose contact which inturn caused my car to shut off.
Bad parts, any sensor should be OEM or a brand that is known to work for that specific sensor. Unfortunately there is a plague of bad parts especially electronics
There's a mechanical fault causing the sensor to read outside of the allowable tolerances making the module its linked to send a message that something is wrong.
I had a rat eat though my pigtail for it drove it ran rough bad idle detonation like crazy when under moderate load drove it like that for about a month did some piston head damage and overheated but nothing that really was to crazy I would get it replaced as soon as possible if so
I have had issues in the past of knock sensors making my transmission shift funny. And it's currently doing it again. I think the last time I only replaced one of them. I'm doing both as we speak
My knock sensor is bad and will cause ur check engine light to flash… then it will go into limp mode which decreases power and acceleration dramatically… not a little… amazing how one wire can cause so many problems
what if youre someone who runs less octane than recommended by manufacturer and your sensor goes bad? Doesnt that mean that damage could very likely occur?
I replaced both knock sensors when I redid my oil pressure gauge and I replaced the harness too and now my engine light is coming on telling me it’s a knock sensors. Hopefully, it’s not faulty from new.
Well, I have a question I was told by a diagnostic that my knock sensor is bad I see you’re in Arizona I’m in Arizona myself I’m in Mesa a was sold pretty much a lemon I was told all that was wrong with my alignment and the check engine light was on because of a gas cap When I have had to replace my rack and pinion my axle might oil pan gasket I transmission pan gasket my alternator, my starter and my knock sensor needs to be replaced. I don’t know how to get to it and I was told it inside or underneath the manifold do you have any advice for a young lady that has no clue what to do I just conquered stage four terminal cancer and my brother bought me this vehicle and I haven’t been able to move it in a month since I bought it. It drove for one week and I went to go make a U-turn and I pressed on my guess and my car just Stolt, I thought it was my alternator then I was told it was my fuel pump, but under diagnostic it shows that the knock sensor is bad. Do you have any advice for me?
My engine light and trac light were both on, code came back as bad knock sensor..the mechanic replace sensor, still coded, replaced again, still coded. replaced again. Changed wires to the knock sensor...lights still on. I can't hear any knock. 2011 corolla. Any ideas?
I have a bad knock sensor on my Highlander with the 1mz (they notorious for it) it's a nightmare job and shops will price you out because they don't wanna do it. 😂 I'm so scared of trying to do it. You have to drain the coolant and remove so many vacuum lines and cables that my ADHD wouldn't work for this
Hey Rick I replace my Knock sensor. Once in awhile it will throw a code it's says the control Mode is getting a low circuit , please help what do I need to do to fix this . I have to Smog my Pickup to get Tags on it for. 2025. Russel
@@MercieJAutoCare Just put a Knock sensor in yesterday. Ran fine all day yesterday and today but check engine light just came back on. Went to Autozone to get it checked, now it's saying the Cat Converter needs replaced
@hanginon1293 after replacing nox sensor you are meant to take car for a long drive to sort the cat apparantly taking car for a long drive to sort the denox sulphured cat only works on diesel engines with petrol engines it has to be removed and cleaned or replaced if necessary.. mine was showing code 30EA denox cat sulphurised but was also showing injector no1 fail changed the injector and the 30EA code went away maybe with the injector needing replaced it threw out the 30EA code for no reason.. @@MercieJAutoCare ok! any idea what would cause a 2011 Hyundai Sonata to "lose power" ? and jerk violently when trying to accelerate ? does that sound like a knock sensor issue ? or something else ?
