There’s definitely some good or money-making stuff coming in July. Deadpool and Wolverine and Despicable Me 4 will be the big hitters. Hopefully some other stuff like Twisters can help out too. I’m not sure if any other film can help tho, and I don’t think just 3 films can save the summer season, but we’ll see what happens…

I think the box office will get better as we get later in the year. All the movies people wanna see are coming out in the fall. I think 2025 will better as well, with movies like Scream 7, Jurassic World, Mission Impossible 8, and maybe Superman.

Scream 7 will likely flop because of the Melissa Barrera firing controversy. I've heard a lot of people say they're not going to watch it because of that decision.

Bullshit. People said Scream 6 was gonna flop because of no Neve Campbell, and look what happened. They also didn't go see Abigail. So don't listen to those people. They're only a small group.

I think both DM4 and D/W make a lot of money. Despicable should hit a billion but I don't think Deadpool hits that milestone.

In my friend group, the only two films that we are excited for and will see as a group are DM4 and Deadpool & Wolverine. I will probably be at the cinema 5 or so times over the summer, but most of those will be by myself. The strikes and delays really sucked a lot of the potential box office out of 2024. 2025 may be an improvement but that is still 6 months away and really more like 7 or 8 because the big money makers rarely come out in Janaury or February

Those movies may do well but the rest of the year will still be filled will week after week of flops. The question shouldn't be whether these movies can save the box but rather if the theater industry is salvageable or even worth saving.

Regardless if Deadpool & Wolverine hits a billion or not, I already know it's going to hold the record of biggest opening weekend of 2024 and the biggest opening weekend for an R-rated film ever just looking at how sold out the theaters instantly got the moment tickets started going on sale. The question is how will the movie do in its 2nd week and beyond?

Movie theaters being so expensive hurts box office numbers I think. Not to mention current economic state hard to justify spending so much money to just see a movie. Taking your family out to the movie is like buying the equivalent to three streaming services for that month and getting all the movies on there. And you can just wait a few months and they’ll be on the streaming services then.

DM4 will make $800 million but I'll take a guess and say it doesn't hit a billion. I don't think Deadpool will hit a billion but maybe $700 million.

What if we lived in a world without major blockbusters? What if we had movies like the upcoming MaXXXine with a modest budget of around $2 million, and these films all grossed around $10 million or so? Does the industry and the theaters really truly rely on Billions to keep or afloat? I'm genuinely interested in knowing!

There would be no theatres if the most that movies could make was 10 million. That is peanuts. You don't just need billion dollars movies either. You need consistent strong grosses. If every box office month was like March this year or July of last year, theatres would never worry.

Adjusted for ticket price inflation, the other Deadpool movies would be over $1 billion today... so it's not unreasonable to expect another $1 billion when you add Wolverine, etc.

These past 2 years have been so odd. Last year there were way too many big movies, so much so that the market was oversaturated with familiar franchises, which led to people getting burnt out unless something was an event. This year is the opposite because there are way too little movies being released due to the strikes, so people don’t really have anything to see except the few films that come out, of which feel familiar except the event films like Dune.

The only movie in this franchise which didn't make right around the billion dollar mark was the original. It only made $500 million....which at the time was a MASSIVE success. But EVERY sequel and spin-off has made over $900,000,000 since. Meme may have helped, but this franchise was a juggernaut before the memes.

Pretty sure badboys did good at the box office this weekend, every thatre was pretty full the whole weekend at my local amc, atleast here. And people were clapping during the movie multiple times, so i think word of mouth will help it too

Bad Boys: Ride Or Die is a great start to June! Inside Out 2, A Quiet Place: Day One will dominate June! Despicable Me 4, Twisters & Deadpool & Wolverine will dominate July! It Ends With Us is set to win August! Borderlands & The Crow look terrible! Hopefully more people watch Trap if it’s better than The Watchers which nobody even watched! Alien: Romulus may be a surprise hit in August!

I think as movies become more present online, movie theaters have been dying. This is why the box office revenue is lower. People only want to see movies that are benefited by the big screen, such as Top Gun Maverick or Avatar The Way of Water.

I personally do not see Despicable Me 4 making a billion dollars but I do think it will make a good amount of money at the box office! In regards to Deadpool and Wolverine, I think this film is going to be a real test for the MCU to see if people actually do still care about this failing franchise. There is a lot of hype for this film and I don’t think I have been this excited for an MCU film since Spider-Man No Way Home! That said, remain optimistic about it because I do not trust Disney right now. I hope it’s good!

I'm actually pretty doubtful that any movie this year will hit the $1 billion mark. (Not that a billion is the definition of success). The last time it happened with barbenheimer required a lot of things to come together perfectly and a huge internet meme campaign. Maybe DM4 can reach ~$1.1 billion. I expect Deadpool 3 to end up between 800-900 mil, which would be fantastic for an R rating. I don't see inside out 2 or mufasa or moana 2 performing anything beyond average.

I don't know about that. It seems we're defining an exciting summer as lots of blockbusters. making lots of money. That's definitely not happening. But I don't know that the actual set of films is the most boring.
