Fun Fact: The game originally intended you to have both Dogmeat and another companion at the same time but they scrapped it for some reason. Fun thing is while they scrapped it if you use a mod like this that allows for another companion they react quite a bit to Dogmeat's actions and even have idle chatter with him as you are traveling.
@@quarlalexis9082 Like how the said having the weapons on characters like in skyrim was a UI limitation and would break the game then modders did it without an issue lol
"This, uh... this just in, folks, and you're not going to believe this. A pre-war vault dweller - get this - lead a killing spree across the Commonwealth with a... a pack of husbands and wives, a robot butler, a cyborg detective grandpa, a mutant, one or maybe several individuals of unknown identity? And just. Their dog. A-A normal dog, folks. So uh, watch yourselves out there. Or have mercy on your soul, maybe." *- Travis recounting this playthrough on Diamond City Radio, probably*
@@HTWW Whats up wastelanders! You're listening to 3dog bow wow on GNR thays galaxy news radio incase you forgot. And herreeeeess ME now today I got a very special message today from yet another vault dweller. Now get this, this one's looking for his son and has gathered a sizeable band of people, mutants, robots, and a dog in his cause to find him. Now could you just let that sink in for a moment . This man brought so many adverse groups together in the name of family. Now thats the type of commradery we need in this day and age. Until next time this is 3dog Owwwwww and you're listening to galaxy news radio. Bringing you the truth no matter how bad it hurts.
@@danielferguson5971 ope! Sorry, forgot to answer) Thanks, man, that was a nice one... Although I have to say that a few lines expressing not-so-mild concern about a ragtag band of murderhobos rampaging through the Wasteland would make it even better. 😛
Hello my fine folks, this is “Lonely” Travis bringing you news on a new force in the commonwealth. The vault dweller, you all know the one, gathered a small army consisting of synths, a ghoul, a mutant, a few robots, and several others you may have heard of, including Diamond City’s own Nick Valentine and Piper, and took out the comminwealth’s boogieman. That’s right folks, the institute is no more. And that’s not all. The Brotherhood of Steel also bit the dust, as the Minutemen, led by the boy in blue, blew their flying ship out of the sky. This is “Lonely” Travis wishing you all a lovely night, and here’s Atom Bomb Baby -Travis after Confidence Man
@@Nerbit13098 for a technical explanation, you have a technical limitation for follower and companion amount. Any more than about 5-8 and the games path finding starts to break down with them.
This gave me an idea Can you beat fallout 4 as mystery inc Danse=fred Cait=daphne Piper=velma Dogmeat=scooby And then you as shaggy The only weapons you’re allowed to use are blunt and small (ex:Basic tire iron)
Love the idea of the Sole Survivor just being there, never firing a single shot, letting their friends handle all the problems, then taking all the credit. Truly the group project experience.
Well, they played the children's cartoon protagonist and brought them all together. If the Sole Survivor wasn't there, none of it would happen. They truly are a leader, not by example but by planning ability.
That's me after I installed companion unlimited ammo & indestructible power amour mod. With Preston in power armour + mini gun coupled with Sentry power amour, I'm basically the Overlord that let minions do almost all the job.
@@rhett5058 yeah just about. Honestly because the companions in that game aren’t really effected by weight and don’t get slowed down much by heavier armor there’s no point in not giving them the heaviest gear in the game and the biggest weapons
Do that a lot when I play FO4. Love power armour, and thus mod unique suits in and then give them to companions. Five companions in power armour and armed with companion weapons is terrifying.
@Wiley Combs as I was doing this and going to in the elevator to cure Austin for curie I have to stand with my face pressed against the door to avoid being trapped
@@gggg-hq4td It would actually be cool if while lugging Codsworth around people would comment on his British accent and suggest you might be a little less than an American patriot since you’re going around the Commonwealth with "some redcoat robot" or "some British bucket of bolts". Since pre war America was so much like our timeline's Cold War America, and even nowadays minus the high tensions of the Cold War, American patriots and nationalists love to fuss about 1776.
What I really love about this playthrough is that Dogmeat really got to let out the wandering wolf spirit inside. Lord knows what mysteries he saw on his travels.
I loved the outfits you chose for everyone especially your own. Something about it just reminded me of doom patrol or the x-men. A group of extraordinary people lead by a guy in a suit and creepy mask who is more powerful than any of his teammates yet refuses to lift a finger the entire time. Great job on this run even if it was a little more trouble than it was worth.
There were 7 companions in the New Vegas video, which was able to murder everything up to and including a squad of Deathclaws. Base game Fallout 4 has literally double that. This is going to be a good show.
I actually like the idea of Strong getting so attached to the whole group he actively tries to look out for their health, and making a nice hearty dinner whenever he can.
10:00 The reason that doesnt work like that is because piper's 10mm pistol is a special pistol that uses magical companion ammo instead of 10mm ammo. Magical companion ammo is used by all companions and doesnt get used up when firing so their standard guns dont run out of ammo.
Where there's a all companion mod there's a companion ammo mod for just this issue. Though it's does up the chance you won't even need to draw your weapon
There's a mod that basically makes any weapon you give the companions never run out of ammo while they're using it, it's great. And yes, giving Cait power armor and a minigun is an EXCELLENT idea. It's also funny in a uniquely Fallout way to get modded child companions and supply them with really scary and overkill weapons, especially of the melee variety. Although a kid with a flamethrower is almost as cool as a kid with an electrified knife or sword.
@@Nerbit13098 your on a tightrope balance basically. the tightrope is the minuteman quest. while the balancing weights are basically everything else you've done
Institute ending: you lose Danse and Deacon. Brotherhood ending: you lose Danse, Deacon, and X6-88. Railroad ending: you lose Danse and X6-88. Minutemen ending: you only lose X6-88. Nuka World also presents a problem if you include DLC companions. You can take over all the parks without any problem, but to get an ending you either have to invade commonwealth settlements (alienating Preston Garvey) or kill the raiders (including Porter Gage).
@@TheMoonRover well you don't actually have to lose Danse in the brotherhood ending, he just becomes the brotherhood companion that you can't bring to the brotherhood or they'll shoot you.
If Bethesda allowed you to have more than one companion at a time, oh lord the banter between this cast would be legendary. For example: Cait: "You better watch yourself there Danse. I got my own suit of metal, and I'm not afraid to get close to the enemy to take the hits." Danse: "Cait, we've been over this. This is Brotherhood armor, not a toy. I take great pride in keeping my armor in pristine condition, plus yours is only an exoskeleton from all the running in you've been doing, and I'd rather be fortified and protected when it matters most: saving you from the enemy." Cait: "You still think that tin suit is your lifeblood huh Danse? I thought you'd be a bit more reckless now that you saw how to really fight." Hancock: "Yeah yeah, this conversation is great and all, but not all of us have a suit of Power Armor to use." Maccready: "And half the time we're the firepower Cait, you're just a sponge for damage while we're doing all the heavy lifting." Deacon: "You wouldn't need a giant, conspicuous suit of metal if you were any good at keeping a low profile. It's how I've been surviving out in the Commonwealth." Hancock: "Your "low profile" is about as easy to spot as a glowing one in a horde of ferals. You never change your sunglasses!" Deacon: "Well uh- you see- but uhh.... shit, you got me there."
“Cait is able to keep them staggered while the other focus fire, *and Codsworth goes on his own killing spree for a while-* “ Never have I been more scared and proud of Codsworth at the same time
Might I suggest, "Can you beat Fallout 4 as the Charger from L4D2?", basically it's just you killing people with power armour via the perk that lets you hurt people by running into them while in power armour?
You sure about that? I always go directly to fort hagen and after leaving Dogmeat is always available as a follower afterwards in fact he follows me inside (though that's probably because of the unofficial patch)
@@Dovah_Slayer it is because of the patch, if you play without most of the time he will just be at the farthest he could walk away from where you fast traveled/B-lined towards the fort. Idk about B-lining it but i always pre unlock it so i can just fast travel to it later and the patch is too much space, i like to have a ton of other mods and the patch takes up 2-5 goods mods worth of space + im generally not unlucky enough to experience game breaking bugs/glitches hell I barley experience glitches at all when play games which is kinda a bummer sometimes, just once i wanna see someone’s head disappear for absolutely no reason
Here's a thing, During Travis' mission, after you meet up to save the Russian guy, aslong as you don't complete the quest Travis will follow you, making him a permernant companion that will teleport with you through fast travel.
instead of loading back, you could just kept doing institute quest, when the time for mass fusion came, you would went to the brotherhood and tell them, by doing this, the institute would get angry with you, attack the castle and the minuteman ending would trigger
'Getting stunlocked by a giant ogre and an angry Irish girl cant be good for ones health' idk about the ogre part of that, but the angry Irish girl part of that is definetley true
I just want to say since it didn’t get enough attention that the game “The Magic Circle” is basically this play through, only you can make virtually every npc in the game your ally. It’s fantastic
seconded. it's very much a indie project that isn't particularly big, but it's very interesting, and i like some of the cool commands and whatnot you can potentially do, like iirc i had a floating turtle controlling an army of dead bugs or some shit to help me fight. i kinda wish postgame we had infinite commands though, i'd have liked to recruit a full on army of the undead guys in the space game without also losing the bugs.
I can't wait to see Preston walking past all these settlements in need. Also Nerbit, an idea for a video, the ultimate chase. Be chased down by every npc that can chase you, such as Malcolm and the private! A little extra bit of danger
@Ba Da obviously I'm referring to npcs who chase you to initiate dialogue, like his previous videos. Yes everyone can chase you but that's just being pedantic
Yeah, my first playthrough I didn't ask for a reward and got a fusion core, the next one I tried doing the speech check and she just gives you toys and maybe a few caps, so I went back and tested this and turns out it's better to just not do the speech check
Her dialogue also says that because you were so nice to find her cat & bring it back, her mom said it was okay to give you the fusion core. Where as, if you strong arm her for everything she owns, her mom probably didn't like that too much.
For the idea of saving right after defreezing, I'd say go for it. Most of the community has seen the opening dozens of times, and for those who haven't, you have plenty of other videos including it. Keep up the good work man :)
This bakes your initial RNG seed into your savefile, which tends to make runs even more sameish than usual, so there is that. There are mods that purport to let you start right as you exit the vault without doing this.
nah. let dogmeat get hurt, heal him. letting him get hurt might be an issue, but iirc landmines can do it without counting as you hurting him, since iirc that pisses people off.
@@jhallberg702 it was actually the Geek Cupboard. lol an his ran was explosives ONLY no guns, no melee, no unarmed combat. just mollies and grenades (an the other throwables that goes boom!) think landmines were allowed too,
This is inspiring me to install a "use all companions" mod and a difficulty mod that increases number of mobs and go to town (just increasing in-game difficulty applies a debuff to the player, NPCs damage each other as if the difficulty was medium)
I have a few things to say: 1. I think I know what happened to Dogmeat, the power of friendship allowed him to ascend to the 6th Dimension. 2. Good lord this is OP as hell. 3. Fallout 4's story would have been WAY shorter if the Lone Wanderer or Courier was the protagonist. It would about average for a normal playthrough until actualy arriving in the Institute. At which point the SS or Courier would either: A. Attach a bunch of Mini-Nukes to the Institue reactor, immediately destroying them or... B. Take over the Institue and having them go full on Enclave and wipe out all forms of life that aren't them from the commonwealth. That is all and thanks for coming to my TED Talk.
Great video, this was hilarious. I actually enjoy charisma builds in FO4. Yeah they kinda scaled back the roleplaying in it, but there's something satisfying about getting to the boss rooms in quests, pointing my gun at the boss and conscripting them to take out thier former loyal minions. And then executing them to actually finish the quest of course.
Dude, I've been binging your videos since yesterday. You seriously have quality content. I've seen alot but so far the fallout ones are my favorite, keep it up my guy ❤️
I think one of the issues causing them to not attack could be because you don’t have your fists out, because they only pull out their weapon when you do have your fists out and she could be trying to activate pacifist mode instead of fighting mode
nerbit accidently got the best ending in fallout 4 where the railroad, minutemen and brotherhood are all still alive. And I think they didn't even realize it
Regarding my earlier suggestion “ Can you beat fallout 4 with the broadsider” It is definitely possible to obtain the broadsider, as it is given by Ironsides after you restore power to the USS Constitution . However you have to maximize stealth as the leveled general gutsy in the general atomics factory will rip you to shreds in obtaining the hydro pump bearings prior to this.( he’s in the room with the bearings)
That is incorrect as you don't actually need to do any of the USS Constitution quests to repair the ship as all can be solved with a High Int score instead.
this is basically my naval build - broadsider and the harpoon gun with flechette mod, since you can get a two shot - basically the harpoon gun has infinite ammo, broadsider not as much, but broadsider is hella strong against harder targets given it's also boosted by demo expert and holds 3 shells, as opposed to the harpoon gun. they work about the same, and after you get used to it being slow, it's pretty damn great, really. if you've got a 'weird' weapon the ammo vendors seem to stock ammo for it far more often and in higher quantities, so it's not too hard to stock up on broadsider ammo, arturo and myra both regularly had like 25-30 shells, and two shot + harpoon recovery, you're going to be finding more ammo than you spent.
FYI: All you need do is travel to Concord so that it registers on the map and you can fast travel back to Sanctuary and get Codsworth with no fighting Raiders or completion of the Minuteman quest. You can also get Codworth without ever going to Concord if you've traveled to Diamond City, Bunker Hill, or Good Neighbor.
Can you beat fallout new vegas while everyone is chasing you. Rules are that everyone that will follow you without shooting on sight has to, including the hit teams. If you get caught you must reload.
This was the most hilarious fallout video I've ever seen, and more than a few people making fallout videos make hilarious ones that have a habit of making me laugh pretty hard. This was so good.
I tried to beat Fallout 4 without leaving power armor, was going well until the meeting with Nick where you have to sit down then the run died since I couldnt find any skips or ways to do it without leaving power armor or using console commands. If you you can find a way to beat it, you win the internet. If you see this comment then good luck to you sir.
Soft locks should never end runs. mittensquad proved that several times over the years lol. If you can’t get past a section without doing something you have no choice and it doesn’t kill the run that bad
You can sequence break the game to avoid that, if you're fine with clipping through the locked door in fort hagen. Check out how the speedrunners do it.
As a suggestion for a joke run, and assuming you can do it to start with: Beating Vegas or 3 as a Robobrain. Basically, no jumping, and your stuck with their laser claw and mesmetron beam.
The fo4 companions aren’t as strong as the new vegas companions because companion nerve is one hell of a drug, 50% damage boost and 50% damage resistance at 10 charisma, christ
if you side with the railroad, you can keep all compations, even x6 if you recruit him and send him to a settlement before detroying the institute, he will not be hostile
The save before leaving the vault is a game changer. I’ve never done challenges but my attention span is abysmal and having a save for new playthroughs/builds is a life savor.
Strong might actually be acting as your bodyguard during the Mirelurk queen boss stage. I also saw that behavior with Lily where she stands close to the Courier, attacking only when the Courier is in danger while she allows the rest of the squad to just gun down the others.
I love how the one game where you can be a general of an army is the one where you can only have one companion at a time. Just makes so much sense, you know?
