So the Arsenal tengu, arguably the hardest part of the game and one of the hardest sequences in Metal gear as a whole can be nonlethally completed with 4 stun grenades, a door bug and then a ton of patience.
1:30:10 "Who am I really?" is a beautiful piano piece. The closing shot with the Statue of Liberty and game title is iconic. This song alone is why I think this game needs to be preserved, like how the US Government preserves films.
Man, to this day MGS2 has this unique elegant look and athmosphere to it that I just have not seen replicated anywhere else. Oh also 18:50 was just amazing haha
MGS2's art style looks really clean and visually readable. it's really an art style i wish more games would adapt to, instead of this over stylized, fortnite look
That's some ridiculous movement and positioning my guy, holy shit Also that back of the nut shot might be the funniest thing I've ever seen in a video game
You gave me reason to boot up my PS3 and play the trilogy collection again... I never knew the power of strategic nut punch/colon punch til your video.
You have the best MGS content and are the best player I’ve seen. Also I love at 11:11 when you equip/un-equip your gun to the melody of the Alert song.
Still one of my favorite MGS-related videos I've ever seen. Absolutely incredible gameplay and equally incredible editing! You deserve so much more views and subs!
I can't believe how easily you made the Olga boss battle look on the tanker! I always struggled with that one due to the sensitive controls in first person aiming 😕
I usually always play without using the tranquilizer because it takes all the difficulty and challenge out of the game other than the boss fights. Same for the radar
Amazing run. Really impressive how you stand so close to the guards and they not see you. The Boss fights are amazing too. Love it. And the edit is awesome. PS. Love the fight on the tanker. A lot nut punches.
The only real issue I had was trying to beat solidus death grip right before the final fight of the European Extreme mode. Other than that it was a joy to play that level.
I always hated doing the metal gear ray fight.. just goes on and on its relentless on hard difficulties. The fact you have to survive solidus choking, the ray fight and beat solidus in a sword fight back to back without healing in order to get big boss rank on extreme is brutal. Never been able to do it yet. As a matter of fact I've never been able to get past the rays on hard mode yet
Videos like this show how deep and complex all the gameplay mechanics in MGS 2 actually are. Been playing this game for more than 10 years since first discovering it in 2010 and still consider it to be my second favorite videogame of all time. This run is phenomenal and it is a shame that it doesn't get the attention it deserves. Or maybe it is a blessing. Being a hidden gem is something that makes such a masterpiece even more appealing and valuable.
Wow, seeing this for the first time today. Your commentary is great, and it makes me think we have a lot in common. I also dislike certain 'cheap' tricks like rolling through bad guys and bolting to the next room!
Don't be too proud of this technological terror you have constructed, the ability to fire a nuclear warhead from a walking battle tank is insignificant next to the power of the "the stealth"-Darth Vader
This was the first game I could speed run on the same level as the pros thanks to the constant back to back replays I did when this came out when I was 9 years old. Some strategies I've seen people go "oh, I didn't know you could do that" was just things I figured out on my own pushing the game and myself to our limits just bc they sounded fun at the time. And let's not forget the dozen or so crotch/butt knockout punches that let everyone know it was going to be OK.. Lbs
Incredible video, this Raiden is an authentic cyberninja, you're a stealth expert and amazing player!! I was expecting a No Damage but you can't have everything. The only part a little terrible , no offense, is the sniper section, it would have been better if you had called Snake. By the way when you're without the uniform, do you appear like this in the scene with Ames? And when you're wearing it? I also wondered if there is such video on MGS4 with only explosives and no guns, it is much easier with the OctoCamo, and if you aim with FREEZE! enemies on their knees or lying down, they are neutralized as in the MGSV
I actually agree. I practiced the sniping section the least. It always feels floaty so it's the most prolonged and frustrating thing in the run. Since it isn't a showcase of stealth I just went with the first one that worked. The cutscene shows whatever you were wearing just before it so there's no uniform. I planned to do some runs of all the games so maybe one day I can do some cool MGS4 stuff. >I was expecting a No Damage but you can't have everything. We'll see...
1:16:17 Shoting Rex in it's mouth deals more damage... for that you have to shot it's knee first. BUT TODAY I LEARNED: IF REX OPENS ITS MOUTH SUDDENLY ON ITS OWN, IT ALSO WORKS THAT WAY!!!!!
My favorite part is how he wears the enemy BDU after shell 2 starts. I do the same thing because I dont like how skinny and chicken-like raiden looks with that unflattering skin suit. I actually laughed when he defused the strut F bomb. I haven't laughed like that in a long time. As someone who played this game since the year it came out, I applaud this uploader and he is without a doubt a master of this masterpiece.
Alright, just finished my No Tranq run yesterday on Hard mode… the hardest part for me was Strut D sediment pool, and GOD DAMN escorting Emma…. But 10/10 would do it again. Fuck the Tranq gun man it’s too overpowered.
Were you punching the soldiers in the nuts with Snake during the cargo fight? 🤣 I'm not even through the first part of the run and my jaw has dropped multiple times lmfao
@@CosyConnoisseur yeah I'd love if there was a way to clear the game entirely without tranq! its like in MGS, no matter what you can't entirely go through without a single kill, I think the Big Boss rank boundary is 4 throughout the whole game or something? Your playthrough here is incredible
12:55 WHAT!? FUCKING. WHAT!?!?!? ive played this game so many times over the years, and had read several guides WAY back when on collectibles and stuff, AND NOT ONCE DID I HEAR YOU COUDL SWITCH THE PROJECTORS!?!?
amazing run, you're pretty good... i have some cuestions though, after defeating fatman your life gauge restores by itself or u take a ration? and when did you get the psg1-t?
im playing on pc, and im cetic here. the soldiers have eagle vision and the minimum disrupt raise alert... still i play w/ no tranq, but not without some kills on some areas.
You make this game look like child's play! Seems like you gave yourself more restrictions than just "no tranq"; in the tanker hall fight you spent a lot of extra time avoiding shooting the other pistol. Was this merely the safest strategy in very high difficulty levels, or were you trying to shoot all weapons as little as possible? OMG! Your first run thru the Sediment Pool was a hilarious and perfect dance!
The answer is no... no you cant beat MGS2 without using the tranquiliser gun because of the first boss fight XD im still going to watch the rest tho of course
After he finishes being confused by the grenade it resets his 'patrol' of sweeping left to right with his binoculars. With that I can move with Emma across the bridge before he sees us. The other side of the bridge is outside his FOV.
