I attempted to beat The Last of Us Part I on Hard using only the starting pistol. It was a bit of a challenge, but here's how I got through it. 18:22 Just so you know, if you go to settings, and select HUD, you can turn the “Range finder” settings for the bow and turn it on, or just make it so it’s just like the original bow’s aiming

Idk if you knew this but if you don’t want to eyeball arrows when your shooting you can change to the “classic” bow reticule. Hope this helps.

Note that for the bow reticle there's an options to switch to classics that look like in the original the control itself still using Part II mechanic though

PLEASE READ THIS! Hi Epic Cakes Gaming I love your videos. Here's a challenge idea for TLOU 1: The Full-Lodout Challenge This means the only stuff you can use throughout the whole game is that which is present in a full lodout. For example: At any point of time, the max capacity of revolver is 18 bullets. So you can only use 18 revolver bullets throughout the whole game. Same rule applies to all guns and throwables. However, Joel's fist, Ellie's knife and bricks and bottles can be used in unlimited quantities.

The ‘9mm pistol’ is actually the Browning Hi Power in real life. In the original, the pistol was originally the colt defender which was also in Uncharted 2.

You should’ve kept the ammo you had been given by NPCs as well as pick up ammo for everything along the way. The drops in the game work based off of what you already have. So if you are out of pistol ammo you’re more likely to find pistol ammo than for a fully loaded shotgun. Wasting the ammo only makes the game have more options of stuff to give to you.

The Last of Us is the only game that actually considers how you might be softlocked to where you cant kill and only run, so they spawn ammo for you so you can last a little longer.

i actually played it on the hardest difficulty.. twice.. only with stealth or melee since i was too worried i wouldnt make it through the end.. lol then at the fireflies hq i was using everything i had

Only play it on grounded once. Tend to be more of a "careful/stealthy" player anyway so i did pretty much the same thing, just went full rambo mode at the end lol. Also, im a pretty average gamer so almost never play a game at anything above normal difficulty. But decided to play every difficulty of TLOU cuz its my fav game and yeah, it was hell for me lol.

When you put the new bow reticle on a target a white dot will appear and show where the arrow will hit!! But you can change back to the old reticle in settings, HUD..

Fun fact in the original game the 9mm pistol was a Colt Defender a variation of M1911 for self defense and in the remake they changed It to a Browning High Power still both of these pistols don't make sanse BC both guns are Chambered in 45 ACP Also another fun fact in the remake the colt Defender Is still in the files but got cut ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VsbHk31g5JE.htmlsi=JAbXG1dJ-wCNuq6D this video has modded version of the remake and It has weapons such as - Colt defender (the old 9mm) - another model of the Browning High Power - the hunting rifle that Dina uses in the last of us 2 - a shorter shoothgun - a Bolt action rifle that i can't reconize - Tommy rifle from the second game Honestly all these weapons were cut or were left overs from tlou2 it's soo sad seing my colt Defender gone 😭

Nice video, I play this alot on Grounded and yeah, that many bullet drops arent happening there. But you seem to get alot of drops at Hard difficulty. Do they put full ammocrates every few meters at easy difficulty then? :)

You get noticeably more ammo on hard than grounded I would say. The biggest issue for me was even on hard most of the ammo was NOT pistol ammo so even though enemies dropped a lot, I couldn’t use most of it. On easy difficulty most enemies drop a few bullets and you frequently max out your ammo it’s kinda insane compared to harder difficulties lol

If you wanted to redo the challenge or something idk uhhh you can kill the blister in the room with David when it jumps from the ceiling before it jumps to the ground, shoot it in the leg and it instantly dies. Idk if it works with pistol thi

When you strike grabbed enemies, you usually use the butt of your pistol. So that's TECHNICALLY still only using your pistol.

It’s something I have considered. Only thing holding me back is that it has been done before (shoutout Dante Ravioli) but the only difference is he did it with glitches so maybe trying it glitchless is something I could revisit in the future.

It's PROBABLY not possible as many encounters occur when you are thrown into combat, and boss fights also throw you straight in. Think before you post

Wow this is my challenge I made it up and tried to do it a long time a go but I never finished the challenge so it's good to see someone finish it I bet others thought about doing this before me or you but I like to think I came up with it first so I have a next challenge play last of us without having to Shoot a gun maylay only cut scenes do not count and the sniping part does not count

i just wanna say that if your playing the older versions of the game AKA THE ONES WITHOUT THE WORD "Part 1" you can skip the entire building with the clicker introductions, and bills traps area with no kills needed. There is another part you can skip by doing a glitch that kills everything including elly but forgot where that was.

I ended up getting kind of lucky with that but I snuck along the right side of the first floor and was seen, but managed to run away and get back into stealth. Then I just went up the back stairs and snuck out the rear entrance. I was also able to crouch walk into the shiv door on the second floor as well by just making sure no enemies were walking towards me.

I think there should be a thing to turn off certain loot for people who want to try things like this but haven’t played much so they don’t need to be as careful
