Afrikaans is a language which was created by the slaves or indentured servants from Dutch. It is mainly spoken by the coloured community (descendants of the slaves) and white community (mainly former Dutch). To be African is to be a person from Africa with all cultures part of your soul.
my culture I wish was as open and shut as just being descendants of slaves and dutch people. there is way more to my cape coloredness than that. not all of us descended from slaves , some of us are actual natives of this country from the Strandlopers and Bushmen, not black tribes. Afrikaans is also spoken by our Afrikaners , as well as Black people (older) Cape Coloreds are different to colored you get in Johannesburg, and we speak Mengels not Afrikaans we adapted our own form of Afrikaans just so btw

The slaves used some of the dutch but mostly their own indigenous languages such as khoekhoegowab(Khoi language) and Malay (Malaysian Language) and created their own language so that the Slave masters don't understand them and they can communicate between themselves, to plot and plan their freedom. But then along the years the decedents of the settlers decided to claim our language and standardize it and based it on the dutch dictionary, which is why it is seen in our country as the "white" language today, when in actual fact its not a "white" Language. No matter how much they try to change the words you'll always find some of our ancestors words and sayings in the language such as Piesang(track it to Pisang in Malay) which means Banana, Gogga (Khoisan for a Insect) or Eina (Khoisan for Ouch!)...lol infact youngstaCPT has a song called Y?na (which is Eina)

In an interview with Ricky Rick on his channel Cottonfest Youngsta explain why he can't be a gangster or affiliated to one gang. Its too dangerous thats why he remain neutral by shouting out different gangs and including different gangs signs, logos and locations in their territories and not just one gang so he could be identified with just one.
