well done...the dialog was informative and to the point (the monotone didn't distract from listening to the pre's); the mic choices were in my opinion perfect for the time period that these pre's would've been used. the "A" vs "B" comparisons were also spot on. Good Work!
Love the depth of the TG at low input, Capi distortion on Capi even at medium input is badass. TG doesn't really add much character at medium, but impact the transient and dynamic it seems. High input TG is the king here, he show who the baddest, and the distortion is extremely tasty especially in the bass and that is I think a bit more unusual, the bass is always the more difficult part to get right in distortion. Love to see on a 808 bass or a Master . I think Capi is great for pop rock and vintage rock sound. TG is like more like motown, Nevish depth, and this distortion I can't wrap my head about another unit like this. I think it would be great for Trap/Metal/Raggaeton at high inuput And EDM/Rnb/Soul even Jazz a low input Just my opinion
Great comparison! I also would prefer the Capi Vp26. Sounds a little bit more like an international world class standard preamp. The sound is more in the face. Thx
liked capi on medium settings best. with this pre a compressor may be less necessary. i would like to hear these two pres compared on a different source like acoustic guitar or vocals, where i bet the tg shines.
@@Josh.Bartel totally! if you have a sec... what are the transformers in your capis? there seems to be a bunch of different options and i wanna buy a pair... really like yours so would be great if you can help. thanks so much and thanks also for this video generally :)
TGs sound way nicer and clearer than CAPIs with cheap chinese made transformers. If you're looking for a distorsion (boss pedal) and you're deaf than maybe the CAPIs are for you.
CAPI transformers are made in the USA so not sure why you would say this? For some reason you comment this on on every single video that has CAPI in the title.
@@dudemcgee256 That's where you are wrong here. CRAPPI transformers are made in good old China. Are they selling them as "Made in USA" now? That'd be funny. Than again......since when "Made in USA" products are better than chinese products? Look at US cars haha.
