The mysterons win again. That's what's great about this show, Spectrum sometimes make mistakes. It makes you want to come back for more.😁

Yeah, the flawed characters and permanent death (save for Scarlet) really set up for that scene in _"Attack on Cloud Base"_ where we think we've lost Rhapsody.

Every time I see this episode, I always ask this question. Why didn’t the Angels just shoot the SKR4 out of the sky, just like they did with TVR-17? Mind you, Supermarionation episodes that involve temples are interesting to watch. Barry Gray does compose beautiful ancient music.

Maybe because SKR4 has got high explosive and the angels have to be close range to fire at it. And explosion would have been powerfully enough to take them down as well. PS: Beautiful ancient music from Barry Gray are reused music score from Supercar and Thunderbirds.

It's moving too fast. The SKR4 was pretty much rocketing towards the surface (not free falling) at a vertical angle; so as an Angel, you'd have two options: 1. Fly in a horizontal plane relative to the SKR4's trajectory, and somehow bull's eye the target as it passes in front of your crosshairs for a split second. No missile could move that fast. You couldn't hit it even if you were almost point-blank range; it's just moving too fast. 2. Gain altitude, arc over and attempt to match it's downward trajectory so that you can keep it in your crosshairs (and this is assuming the Angels could even match it's speed). The only drawback to this approach is that the SKR4 is packed with explosives, so if you destroy it there wouldn't be enough time for you to alter your trajectory and avoid the explosion; you'd get caught in the fireball and incinerated along with it. Also, this option is positively foolhardy because you're nose diving at full speed; even IF you had enough time to get a lock, fire, and somehow avoid the fireball, you'd splat on the ground before you could pull up.

One thing I dislike about this episode is the title. It literally spoil how the episode ends. In a *Inferno* This episode should have called *Collision Course* as the Mysteron used their reconstruction as a guided missile to go on a collision course with the complex.

Oh, the outrage! Great reaction. I do like it that humans are not the unequivocal good guys and that failure is a possible outcome. This one was spectacular. As much as I like ancient temples, a lot of them seem to have been destroyed and reconstructed over the years, sometimes at the expense of authenticity, so I think that would be possible here.

Hello again Alexa as always i enjoyed your reaction to this Episode. Though "Inferno" is listed here as Episode 28 it was in fact the very last Episode ever filmed of "Captain Scarlet And The Mysterons" Episode 32 in Production order. This Episode also has one of the most spectacular Explosions in the series at the climax of the story and of course a Mysteron Victory. The Episode also features perhaps one of the worst one off guest craft in the entire series the SKR4 Spacecraft which to me has always looked like a flying Doorknob.😆

Yes Alexa I’m in agreement about the Aztec temple ,I’ve always said they should have never raided the pyramids should have left them sealed ,so spectrum done the mysterons. Work for them. They must of laughed their reconstructed heads off 😂😂 All the best Alexa angel ❤ Mark 😊😊

The desalination plant was effectively irrigating the country's interior of presumably a large area with a lot of lives at stake. I'd destroy the temple if that was the issue at stake. One of my fave episodes.

Spectrum dropped the ball on that one. If the station tracking the ship could still track it's position and the Mysterons failed themselves to eliminate or silence the controllers then the Colonel should have had the Angels track and destroy the ship rather than the device it was homing in on.

Great reaction Alexa! Though I feel like I'm going mad here: I swear I've seen you react to 29 episodes of Scarlet (not 28), including what I assume will be next weeks episode, but the reaction for that was available several weeks ago. Did something get out of sequence or am I just going crazy? :P

Alexa, you have got this episode completely WRONG ! You end up blaming SPECTRUM for the destruction of the Aztec temple and the statue, yet, if you recall, it is Captain Black who puts the homing device into the mouth of the statue. Whether SPECTRUM attacked and destroyed the Aztec base with the statue is irrevelent. The explosion from the SKR4 would have destroyed both the temple and the statue anyway.

Spectrum could have taken out the SKR4 at high altitude, sparing any damage at all, their logic in this episode made no sense, Alexa's wrath is justified.

Colonel White needs to brush up on his Indigenous American history, (No Nahua peoples in the Andes as far as I know) and perhaps get in touch apologize for the damages to a priceless UNESCO World Heritage Site. Edit: incredibly bad day for Spectrum. Real CIA-esque behaviour from them today.

On the plus side Lieutenant Green is black, on the negative side he is not a Captain. I wonder if Uhuru in Star trek was an inspiration for Green. If the American's objected to him, they could always say that there was a black character on communications in Star Trek.

The original hero of UFO was black, but that actor was fired after 'disagreements' on the set. The character Paul Foster had not been thought of in the first place but had to be quickly imagined as a replacement, and 6 episodes already shot had to be re-jigged to introduce him.

@@Comfortzone99 No, the actor who Mike Billington (Foster) replaced was Franco De Rosa who apparently was simply unreliable in a few ways. And six episodes reshot? First I've heard of that!
