New Captain Scarlet | Storm at the End of the World | Full Episode 

One of many standout episodes of the series. Some remakes/reimaginings really flop, but New Captain Scarlet easily goes toe-to-toe with the original.

One of my favourite episodes of the entire show. Seriously that opening town massacre is one of the best tone setters for any Anderson production.

Marvelous...loved this reboot as much as the original. Such a shame it never got the proper airtime it deserved instead of the Saturday morning show slot it got.

These are just too good. Love the bit where Scarlet breaks the guy's neck.

Nice subtle reference to Quatermass and the Pit.

At 9:47 Blue asks Scarlet if he's seen a old movie about a spaceship buried under London for millions of years. That is a reference to the movie, "Quatermass and the Pit" or the alternate title, "5 Millions Years to Earth".

Fun Fact: As scary as this episode is, there is an unmade episode of New Captain Scarlet that would've been even scarier. The episode in question was called 'House of Dolls', this is its story: Captain Scarlet is on a camping holiday in Montana with his sister Carrie Metcalfe and her 8-year-old son Mikey. Following a Mysteron attack on the highway that results in a car crash in which Carrie and Mikey see Scarlet die right before their very eyes after he is thrown through the windshield of their pickup truck, the pair are shocked to soon find him fully recovered and apparently completely unharmed. Forced to seek shelter following the crash and an impending thunderstorm, the trio stumbles upon the foreboding home of an eccentric but kindhearted elderly toymaker and toy collector named Alexander Woodchurch (The animators were planning to have Woodchurch resemble Gerry Anderson as an in-joke). Woodchurch is also revealed to be a builder of puppets, and among his puppet creations are several puppets inspired by characters from previous Gerry Anderson productions, including a cowboy, a chauffeur, a witch, and a tailless mermaid! As night begins to fall, however, the Mysterons soon become involved again, bringing all the toys and puppets in the house to life with lethal intentions. Before long, Woodchurch is garrotted by one of his own puppet creations - and then said creations turn their attention to Scarlet and his family! Trapped inside the house by Woodchurch’s home security system and surrounded on all sides by homicidal toys and murderous marionettes, Scarlet must protect Carrie and Mikey from the deadly playthings until Spectrum help can arrive…while also contending with Carrie's growing suspicion that her brother is no longer fully human… 'House of Dolls' was planned to be the 25th episode of New Captain Scarlet. It was cancelled on the direct orders of Gerry Anderson himself, he was worried that its exceptionally dark tone was inappropriate for a family audience to the point where some broadcasters might have choosen to not show it at all. 'Dominion', the 26th episode of New Captain Scarlet, took the place of 'House of Dolls' in the production schedule whilst a replacement story was written, this became the episode 'Grey Skulls'. IMO Gerry Anderson made a big mistake in cancelling 'House of Dolls'.

Yes 😁 this is by far one of my favourite episodes of New Captain Scarlet. I have so many things to say about this one! First, it’s definitely one of the darkest episodes. One of the few (if perhaps the only) times where we see a Mysteron child after the town is destroyed. Also the scene of Scarlet snapping the enemy’s neck was actually cut from the original broadcast, and it’s this one scene that earns the dvd and Blu-ray releases a 12 rating in the U.K.! Also I just love this episode. I’m not sure who they cast to play the Mysteron doctor, but his voice is amazing for the role. A very sinister presence. And when I first watched this I distinctly remember almost crying when I thought Blue was fated to die. The stakes were very personal in this one, and emotionally it reminds me a lot of the first season’s Homecoming episode. To cut a long story short, I’m really glad you chose to upload this episode - it’s brought back a lot of good memories 😊

Those Druzyniks are easy to steal aren't they? I think the Mysteron agents steal three across the whole run of the show. Great episode, nice isolation horror. Plus they threw in a cheeky Quatermass and the Pit reference which all the older viewers (or younger viewers into classics) could have a private laugh at.

Fantastic episode, I remember watching it when it was first on CITV.

This was a very good episode. And this was the first episode or movie where a town was destroyed TWICE by the same weapon!

If only this show was made whenever original content for streaming services existed. Then I suspect it could've had a better chance of being saved

I know,the original Captain 👩‍✈️ Scarlet is still popular,today!But,this was a:”pretty,good,show at any rate!And,I”ve seen the original show,too!It”s also good!(from:1967).

I remember watching this episode when it was on tv when the series was new...I havent seen it since it first aired. That was nearly 20 years ago now...it's still just as creepy an episode but its also exciting and fun. Thanks for the nostalgia flashback!

Man, this time they really cut it close. And it seems like a sad irony that Scarlet basically had to do the same thing as the Mysterons did earlier, blowing away the whole town. It probably would have been quarantined anyways due to the meteorite. And it isn’t like the inhabitants will be complaining. Definitely one of the darker episodes, showing why Scarlet has to defeat the Mysterons for humanity’s sake.

I liked it better when they animated the strings holding up the CG characters. That was a nice touch.

I prefer the original, the new one is a little too inflated with helium and the figures bear little resemblance.

I bet if this got a US DUB, I bet If would've been made by 4Kids, dubbers of the Yugioh anime and Sonic X, here is my ideas on what they would've censored 1. Changed the Mysterons From killing replicating Humans into instead mind controlling them 2. Change all guns to lasers

I liked the old series better, the CGI characters are look to sterile and clinical( like robots).

These stand up pretty well against the originals. Kinda cheapy animation - but they definitely kept well to the spirit of the thing. Also, not so cheesy that an adult can't enjoy it.

The Saturday morning show destroyed this series. Chopped it up, skipped parts, just awful. Gerry Anderson got a rough break, because this, thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet and Joe 90 would have made a fantastic cinematic universe if they had been done right.

Still, a pitiful outcome in both 'verses. In both WE [out of fear and ignorance] fired first at the Mars city. All because a sensor platform was mistaken for some type of gun. The Former Captain Black and crew of the Mars rover acted out of fear, rather than logic. Now his atoms are being used to form the Mysterons deadliest agent. Humans must grow beyond this base instinct or be doomed, even taking the risk of being casualties first. Let a potential adversary fire first, no matter the risk, then at least there will be justification for retaliating, but at least we wouldn't have started the fight. However, be gracious enough to cease and desist if we learned that it was all a terrible mistake.

I still prefer the original.
