@Arthur K Your comment has me a little confused, whats does a much lower power class a/b amp series value have to do with this high power class d budget amp value?
Your always doing these tests on these big amps Derek which are awesome by the way. Loving to see them put those watts. The one thing i love is the prices of them actually fit in your budgets too. Thanks for sharing my friend.
Man between Sundown and Audio Apex you guys can push quality product at both ends of the price spectrum/quality of parts chosen. Awesome can't wait to see what 2021 brings
Shout out to CAB on building a budget beast, run this thing at 1 ohm and you'll never need another amp. Yes I did run .5 when I was a kid but I don't need to buy multiple amps anymore, just 1 @ 1.
Yep. That is what had me cautious when ordering a amp. I use to have woofers and amps in highschool (20 years ago) I just decided to jump back into this again. But yea - 1000 watts was about a down payment on a car in the 90s
Right was minimum $1 a watt retail. I use to order out a apex audio at wholesale cost got a lanzar Opti 2500 for $509 only paid $300 for cerwin Vega stroker 12. Stroker 15 was $400. Local shop wanted $1200 for the opti2500 and like $900 for the stroker. My buddy bought Orion xtr2500 the beast for $1500 from a shop
Jesus !!! That’s a lot of freaking power and the cost !!! I don’t even wanna say what I paid for my 2 -DD DM2500a I could’ve got 3 of these and ran 1 on each damn sub !!!
And YUUUUUP!!! NEVER DOUBT SUNDOWN OR ANYTHING AFFILIATED WITH THE GODS OF BASS LIKE THAT CAB AUDIO LOVE ALL UR PRODUCTS! KEEP TEARIN SHIT UP IN THE CAR AUDIO BUSINESS
90 volts would be (close to) clean for 4 ohm but 1 ohm should be 70 volts and 2 ohm should be 82 based on these tests. Voltage would only stay the same if the power doubled for every halving of the impedance.
@@TheeMissingLinc yeah I'm glad I pre ordered 2 a couple months ago. Just paid $80 more to get 1 of them early and wow. This thing is no joke. They are way better than any other 5k I've ever seen that is close to the same price or even a lot more. Has tons of clean power. Definitely power hungry tho. Have to have a lot of power from alternators/batteries to feed them.
Big respect to them on making this affordable to all and maybe taking some greed out the car audio game. I'm pretty sure that's their angle and I couldn't be more proud of them dudes. Say goodbye to brazilian amp fires and bring back quality with reliability.
man those dyno numbers and that price point are insane. i'd grab one on pre-order if the delivery date wasn't so far out! im liable to pre-order it and eventually forget i ordered by the time it's delivered lol
@@adamneill9237 you sound about like me. Started getting my setup prepped a lil while ago, and am just getting the loose ends together. But how does it sound 🤔? Ion know lol
@@adamneill9237 same here. Ordered 2 cab-45's a month ago. Have all 4 subs and 2 sundown 4 channel amps still new in boxes waiting on these amps. Can't wait to start my build in June!
Thats great brother, but won't be available till June? Dangit man.. I have a cab 1600.1 thing is a tank works like my sundown i once owned sure miss that ole tank.. Keep up the great work I enjoy your content. P.S. told Santa bring you some coal due to the June thing 👍
Im so happy you didnt waste our time showing us a half bridge amp without testing below 1 ohm. This was an AWESOME video. WHAT A FUCKING DEAL, RIGHT??? Maybe show us the efficiency numbers for 2 and 4 ohm for the non spl guys. Im kind of looking for something with high efficiency to run at 2 or 4 ohms. Trying to find something with 88-90% efficiency at 2 or 4 ohms due to running stock electrical...
Seeing those numbers at 13 Vdc , that is insane , that is your alternator running at idol , from when it voltage regulator kicks off from 15 vdc to 13 vdc , that's a good amp
I'll keep my orion HCCA5000.1 only because it does 6,500w rms at 14.4 and 5,500w rms at 12.6. But I gotta admit for the price I could have bought two of these. But I wouldn't be able to fit them in my trunk
I just ordered 2 , I'm nervous now Will The nightshade 12" V4 , neo ,be able to accommodate it, one amp 45 one v4 in a Cadillac CTS small trunk , I ordered the 2ed amp 45 as back up just in case
Can I assume the knobs clip light that comes with this amp is not accurate? I tuned my amp to 91v exactly as you did, and when I'm planning the 40hz test tone, I'm getting a solid clip light on the knob, the headunits set to 3/4 volume so it should still be a clean signal. Amp is unloaded same as yours was, just multi meter leads hooked up.
How much power is this thing drawing. I been saving for the Orion 3k. Costs a little more. But I'm just curious im wondering if I should try this insted main reason is I seen Orion runs good on 12v
WHAT DO THINK ABOUT THIS ON 4 DC AUDIO TENS WITH 2 OHM VOICE COILS AT A HALF OHM IN A 6TH ORDER BANDPASS ENCLOSURE IN MY CHEVY TRUCK, I HAVE A 270 AMP ALTERNATOR HOW MUCH LITHIUM POWER DO I NEED
Man I hope the dude driving the container ship would hollar FULL STEAM AHEAD we gotta get there in record speed!!! Waaaaahh I want my CAB45! They shud be built by now, they said hopefully to be wrapped up by chinese new year... Still a ways to go tho...painful but it will be worth the wait.
Is this cab 45 better than sfb5k..? Which amp is have cleaner signals..?? Also running 15 v lithium batts... will this cab 45 amp handle above 15volts..??
How efficient is this monster? I was wondering the current draw when you said you dropped voltage more than you wanted to. I'm about to buy this thing, just want to make sure I know what I'm getting.
@@Chris-B-Bassin I wouldn't, the highest you can go with that responsibly is like 1500 rms, as an example, the down 4 sound jp23 is a 2300w rms Amp that really puts out 2600rms into 1 ohm at 14.4v, that Amp was clamped at eating up 289 amps just below clipping, for this Amp which is also under-rated, you would need like 500 to 600 amps... Honestly, with your setup, I'd just go for a jp8. That alt would be just enough with that Amp to also power a 4 channel amp and charge your batteries, but it would be fun. THE jp8 does 1400 or so rms and only eats up 175 amps, watch bigdwiz video on the jp8.
@@Chris-B-Bassin those are likely the cold cranking Amp rating of each battery, which is only in short few second bursts, their actual continuous amperage capacity is far lower then that, and since they are agm, their voltage regulation abilities won't be like lithiums of even a lower capacity, like I said brotha, for what you got, I wouldn't go over 1400 to 1500w, trying to draw more then your alt can supply not only isn't good for it, but your amplifiers too. 250 Amp alt at 14.4v can supply 3600w, but the thing to consider is also the efficiency of the Amp, like I said the jp 23 will eat up 289 amps to put out 2600w... Thats pretty good, The jp8 will eat up about 178 to do 1400 rms which is also great.
I have a question about my system I’ve been piecing together. Right now I have four 15” dvc 2ohm subs that’s rated at 1600w rms each. I’m wanting to run all four in my truck with a 4th order blow through and my question is would one of these amps be enough to push all four subs? or would I need two? I apologize in advance as I’m just starting out in the car audio world and I’m trying to learn as much as I can as I go along. I can afford two, but I’d rather just purchase one if I can get away with just the single amp. Thanks again guys!
I’m somewhat confused on your testing results. What is the difference dynamic power and peak power? You stated in one of your earlier video that dynamic power ratings are rather useless, or words to that effect!
@@AudioApexUSA I think that your product should come with a standard 1 year warranty, and the option to upgrade. I like the fact that you encourage the customers to contact you if there's a problem. However, a 90 day warranty just says a lot about the product and how you stand behind it
@@Mr.NpK143 technically that does show how they stand behind it. Offer a sub par warranty to encourage the upgraded warranty to one of the best, if not the best, amp warranties available. Going to show they're confident in the durability. You could pay the full warranty price and the deductible 10 times and still be cheaper then retail for most top tier 5 k's
@@stazeanamocaby the last 10 amplifiers I've bought all came with 1 year standard warranty and the option to upgrade. 1 year has become standard. I'm not quite understanding the "subpar warranty to encourage to spend more money on a recognized standard, or how one could perceive this to be the best thing going" 🤔. Granted these amps are cheaper then the competition, but these amps are built cheaper in China. So cheap until it's reputation of poor durability exceeds it's sells. Hence being CAB was bought out by Apex whom obviously has a greater vision for it's Sundown affiliate. IJS... the amps are cheap because they're built cheap, it's durability has been highly questionable, the success of the company lasted about as much as a small business until covid19, then the takeover just to start off with the same crap. Only difference is Sundown's helping with promos. If you'd like to earn people's business you should start off by standing firmly behind your products. This one of the first things we the consumer pay attention to. "You get what you pay for" is still undefeated. And by the way even taramp comes standard 1 year warranty.
Why does your prototype have Tiffany rca but the ones being manufactured and sold are going to have the typical cheap rca connections? I asked audio apex if they will have Tiffany connections and they said no. But yours has them.
