At Miller Industries we engineer the world's finest car carriers. In this video we demonstrate the steps for proper operation of our car carriers. These steps go a long way to maximizing the longevity of your investment.
Is it still not recommended to face the car rearward on the deck? I see operators do this all the time, but I saw a warning sticker on my old rollback that said not to do that.
Depending on the weight of the car and rating of the bed and GVWR it can put added stress on the bed of the truck and is likely to overload your rear axle.
Really has more to do with the aero of the vehicle that you have on the truck bed. Vehicles are designed to be moving forward at highway speeds and towing the vehicle backwards can cause damage to the plastic body panels of the vehicle.
Pet Peeve of mine.....it erks me to see operators run the bed back 10-15 feet.......WAY the hell out past the tailboard.......before tilting it to the ground......who the hell trains these people? one only needs to slide the bad back less than a couple of feet........sad.......and then owners wonder why frames crack and hydraulics fail......its abuse, learn to operate your equipment properly.....
