Tried to purchase a 24 Cadillac xs4 last weekend. It was previously owned by someone who did not like it. It has 1,700 miles on it. They tried to add an additional $1,000 to the otd price for ceramic coating. I told them that the previous owner paid for that and you can’t just add it back on to a used car sale. They refused to take it off so I walked away. Why would anyone loose a sale in todays market over this crooked way of doing business.
Because I'm convinced car dealers despise the general public and see us as fools who should be grateful they're even allowing us to step foot on their lots.i it's why they'd rather lose more at auction than to give a consumer a deal.
Seriously, I would like to know where in this country dealers are getting desperate. I have dealt with dealers recently for both a personal vehicle and business vehicle, and they act like they do not care if I buy a car from them or not. They refuse to come down one penny on the price of their vehicle and will not entertain one penny more for my trade - at several dealers! Then, I reach out to them and they never respond - even when I say I am ready to buy!
That's been my experience too with many dealers when I was looking for a used vehicle recently. It's why I vow to from now on buy from private sellers or auctions.
I just had the best experience at the dealership this weekend in buying my used car, thanks to watching your videos and role-plays. It helps that the dealership did away with some of the norms to make it a better customer experience, like not tacking on fees to their quotes and doing away with a separate F&I person. I dealt with the same guy the whole way through. But I took your advice, knew exactly what to say, and it all worked out in my favor. I'm now in love with my new (cash) purchase! Thank you so much!! You guys are doing the Lord's work. 😀
@@thystaff742 What ?! They could sell each truck for $199 over what Stellantis would give them back for each one , and they would sell like hot cakes .
@@thystaff742 Again , it would be better than a high number be repoed and then go to the auction , or sit around for yrs and get lot rot . The floor plan pay back is gone !! According to a friend who works at the HQ , there is a high likelihood that some Stellantis brands will be sold to BYD . Along with the HQ's building .
I didn’t know until recently that dealerships financed their new car inventory from manufacturers… just the same as the customers do when buying new cars from the dealers. Their rates are just the same, like 7% or whatever… on each vehicle. How can we possibly afford a new car if we have to make a dealership whole from the loans they already have on those themselves?!?! It’s also used car dealerships. Last week we stopped at a little used car lot after noticing an 07-09 Lincoln MKZ. It was rusting on the low driver side. The radio or temperature controls were just sitting on the dash, not even mounted. It was filthy and they hadn’t even bothered to vacuum it out. It had really high miles. He wanted $6K for that. We left there in a kind of daze because it was a realization of a kind of dystopia we’re in now.
It gets worse...you actually have to make the manufacturers whole as well. Companies like Stellantis have inflated MSRP's, then offer large rebates. All those rebates finance the factories through the dealershiips and ultimately the customers. When Stellantis has 8000-12000 rebates that don't get paid out until the units are sold they basically keep that cash on every new vehicle out there. You take 300,000 thousand unsold Ram products on dealership lots, you basically have $10,000 rebate X 300,000 units = 3 billion of free financing for the factories. Customers have been trained that rebates are good but in reality it's the biggest consumer scam out there.
@@truckguy6.7 I’m finished with dealerships. I’m not bothered by the manufacturer as much as I am the middle man in this thing. I’m going to advocate running off all of those dealerships’ lobbyists and change those outdated laws protecting these grubby billionaire dealerships. The dealership tier is where everything is going wrong in the process of trying to buy a car. Our congress woman Miller’s family has one of the largest dealerships in W.V.a. I started noticing a lot of dealerships and their relatives are in congress, most certainly in state legislatures. We have to navigate through deception, corruption and everything else wrong with them that doesn’t work out in the 21st century. I’m sick of all of these millionaire sponges.
The general managers of dealerships make so much money off the buyer and so does each manager. I say cut out the middleman and let the buyer order a new vehicle online and drop the price 30-40%. The dealerships are the ones scamming the customer and I dont need their help buying a vehicle.
@@Travis25601 Excellent idea Travis. I wish we could suggest that in a Stellantis meeting. It would enable Stellantis to drop prices to a reasonable amount and the dealerships could downsize their lots saving them money that would also help reduce overhead.
It’s frustrating. Just got bait and switched at a NC dealership and trying to charge 6k in market adjustment up!! So frustrating that there are still dealerships that do this still. Sad.
I know right. I get ripped off every time and have to argue with them. Last year I bought a new truck and they did the paperwork on a screen on the desk of the finance guy. It was hard to keep track of what he was doing and he changed the numbers after I signed the screen on the desk. I got home and saw they changed the lease miles from 12K a year to 10K. I got a flash drive with the paperwork on it and when I put it in my laptop it was changed. Crooks!
Thank you for bringing up the ESC scam. Unfortunately, I don’t think the majority of people that fall for this are your target market. 39 yr car dog here selling Honda’s in coastal Nc in a heavily aging market. I can’t tell how many times I’ve seen this and helped my client get out of these scams. On a side note, when I get a call asking about ESC, Health insurance, or final expense coverage. I try to keep them on the line as long as I can, so they can’t bother the elderly…. CIAO!!!
Isn’t this the situation where Chrysler specifically told them to add vehicles to fleet sales to make it look like their sales were higher? And now Chrysler is trying to back out and stick it to the dealers that did what they asked them to do?
"How to wreck your dealership without selling a single vehicle." Stellantis and this dealership deserve each other, because nobody at Stellantis thought "Hmm...this is a LOT of vehicles to order for fleet sales for this dealership."
Been truck shopping for 5 years and have engaged several dealers in house. Walked out of all of them. I do not believe that dealers want to sell anything unless they can find a real sucker. In fact two different dealers have smugly told me that If I don't take the crappy deal, someone else will, even when talking about their double dipping add on fees.
This could turn out to be a very interesting lawsuit. Due to the amounts involved I don't see either side backing down. NC law requires a dealer to buy back "new" inventory with no more than 1,000 miles on them when a dealership agreement is cancelled. I am guessing Stellantis will have to prove fraud BUT I am also guessing that the state politicians will try to protect it's own. In my limited observations, dealerships in various states tend to have unhealthy (for the consumer) relationships with their state legislatures. I wonder how that will pan out when it is the manufacturer getting the short end instead of the consumer?
Stellantis you might wanna lower prices or get dealerships to lower their prices before you receive a lot of return to sender vehicles from not just this dealership but many others too. They have to cut the check it’s a stall tactic, stellantis is screwed…the mole hill is gonna turn into a mountain of shit lol!
Question for you all. Have you seen dealers play bait and switch with manufacturing fiance rates when you try to negogiate price on a car? All of sudden the 2.9% APR over 60 months is off the table. How do you deal with this?
Only reason they want to terminate the agreement is the other option is going bankrupt. That is as bad as it gets. Owner may be doing a pre liquidation of assets to recover some of their equity rather then giving up ALL to the banks.
I live really close to Salisbury. That particular dealership used to be Gerry Wood and was actually a “decent” dealership. Randy Marion bought them out last year and that crook owns most of the dealerships in Mooresville too. I wouldn’t take a vehicle from him even if it were free!!!
Any warranty car or house, are not worth the paper they are written on! Only when you buy the warranty from the manufacturer is are maybe better than those taking your money and doing nothing.
Nope. Flooring charges on all cars for sale. Short supply (adopted by the manufacturers to keep prices high and rising on both new and used cars, and buyers scrambling to catch up means dealers are in heaven, today.
Consumers stay strong. 💪🏾 Hold the forth and don’t budge on these BS inflated prices. By Q4 the auto market might crash and US congress will bail them out. A lot of dealerships currently under water for not moving inventory fast enough.
Janesville Kia of Wisconsin had a sales manager give me an OTD price by email of 13500 for a vehicle they had. I get into the dealership and they approach me with a different sales manager who started negotiating the OTD price at 16800. I brought up the email they sent me for 13500 and the sales manager gets mad, tells me there's no way he could do that OTD price, and rips up the paperwork. We walked out of there. The same vehicles been there for two weeks and they still haven't sold the vehicle. Such silly shenanigans.
Dealerships always lie to their customers all the time. Nissan Dealer in Corona California promised to sell us a new Altima 2.5 SR, VIN 1N4BL4CV8RN43660, STOCK #42427 for $18,500 on 07/30/2024. When we came to that Nissan Dealership, they said that car was not available. However, they put that car back on their website two day later with a price of $27,392. Big Liars-Bad Nissan Dealership Services.
I bet the other 1600 are spread across the other Randy Marion dealerships! The RM Chevy in Mooresville NC has a ton of Ram fleet vehicles out front. Mooresville is 20min from Salisbury.
Many internet sleuths have reported incorrectly on this one Stellantis store. Ray nailed it...this store key punched a bunch of phoney fleet orders thinking the covid greed train was gonna continue forever. Stellantis put the brakes on incentives and this store got caught with their hand in the cookie jar.
The best way to shop for an Extended Warranty (Which I believe nobody should ever do!) is go talk to your local shop/mechanic. Talk to the one who has to deal with the various extended warranty companies and ask them which ones are the best to deal with. That's it! Don't trust *anybody's* sales pitch. Talk to the people who have to make the claims! They are the ones who know who is the real deal and who sucks. And *CarShield* sucks!
I read your headline and thought we had a serious, industry-wide problem. That is hardly the case. In fact, this situation is so unique that Stellantis may very well be a victim of its own legal language, and may be forced to buy back every unit. This is the first time I've heard of this type of deception on such a large scale. But hey... Whatever helps you get those views, right?
I would like to buy a new car how can you help me get a very good deal as a senior on fixed budget I obviously need help I being following you and enjoy your opinions trying to learn from you but I’m overwhelmed thank you 😊
I have a quick question. I have two Honda Accords, the same model same year mileage is off by 400 between both cars. One dealership wants over 3,000 more, can I ask them to match or beat the other offer.
I world say very simply. You do not need an extended warranty on a new car. After saying that. You should know everything that is covered and for how long those items are covered for. Then think about the brand, and the vehicle you bought or are buying. Does it have recalls on items in the past. Ask the service for what items they see or need to be replaced most often. An honest place will tell you. Then look at the extended warranty contract and think hard. Do I believe the parts that hosiery break will break or need replaced on my vehicle. Then if those parts are covered, and the cost make sense, then and only then should you get it for "peace of mind."
Sales people are selfish thieves! Tax these super wealthy billionaires more and help the Homeless Veterans on the streets that need mental help and healthcare!
Harris will be the social media president. She'll go on the view and be interviewed by Oprah, but won't do anything she doesn't want to do. Like attend cabinet meetings. Who knows what the end result of that will be.
