It is time to rethink the effect carbohydrates and fruit has on people with diabetes. Cyrus Khambatta, PhD., co-founder of Master Diabetes, is living with type 1 diabetes and practices what he preaches - a healthy diet filled with the proper carbs and an abundance for fruit!
He joins “The Weight Loss Champion” Chuck Carroll to explain why natural sugar eaten with whole fruits containing fiber won’t raise blood sugar.

My oldest son is in his early 20's and he has type 1 diabetes. But thank God for this piece of article ru-vid.comUgkxVYhghKWmrUgXARZ_ydZTvmmcrw5L0I5i At first he thought he had the flu and was lying down on the bed for three days until his sister took him to the hospital. They took his blood and it was 600. What I do not understand is how he could have gotten it, since no one in the family has it. But he is winning the battle now. This is good stuff.

*My daughter drinks lots of water and urinates with the same rate, there are no other symptoms to show if those have anything to do with diabetes. This is a good information that I have gone through **Diabets.Care** She is 2 years 9 months, hale and healthy, have not done any blood test. But I am not certain if one can get diabetes at such a tender age. Please I will like to know more on that*

@@eileenramcharitar4777 im on medformin 500 mg twice daily and atorvastatin. Everyone has their theory and his seem to make sense. I did IF and Keto lchf diet. I eat low carb and hf which im going to cut. I notice i am consuming a lot of sat fat. I do notice my blood glucose reading went from 198 to 82 since i did keto. At the beginning i followed my pcp and dietition advice but after every meal my glucose results was skyrocket high so i change the diet to IF and Keto. My pcp says there is no cure for T2D and i will have to be medicated for life to keep my disease under control. Since i dont know what harm the meds will do to my vital organ, i dont want to be medicated for long terms. Meds do damage to our bodies but my pcp says it wont harm my organs but i will still have this disease and there is no cure. He told me i look fine for someone who is overweight. I asked if i should try to loose the extra pounds and he said nothing. So the food recommendation did not helped me but actually harmed my body more everytime my blood glucose spikes to 198 bc my blood vessel would have to work overtime and it puts stress on my heart to work harder to pump the blood throughout my body. This is messy and confusing. Finding new ways or diet to help my condition to improve so i can hopefully become meds free.

I am a newly diagnosed diabetic and this low fat idea speaks to me much more than low carbs. I have a major problem with being told that I can’t eat the foods that grow naturally but I can eat as many eggs and dead animals as much as I want. While one might not "spike" anything (though, protein can be insulinogenic), that's only addressing symptoms and not the underlying issue. If I bang my shin on the coffee table every day and cause pain and swelling, I can take Advil to counter the effects. But, the solution, of course, is to move the coffee table. So, people can eat low-carb diets and flatline their insulin response, but that doesn't correct the underlying issue of being unable to metabolize whole food carbohydrates.

I am very happy to find this channel and conversation. My mother was diabetic and I literally watched her get her blood sugar down, to where she no longer had to give her self insulin shots, so I realize it can be done. It's knowing what works for you as stated with the goods and trying different things. My sister in law just lost her 41 year old brother. He just could not get his food intake together, nor, was he able to stick with his insulin medication. Truly sad heartbreaking 😢 situation.

I am from a small island called Pohnpei in the north pacific ocean in the Micronesian Islands. The people of these islands have been eating coconuts for thousands of years. There are many ways to eat coconuts or for using it in food and they do not include the oil. When the coconuts are young you can drink the water/juice and eat the soft meat in it which is jelly like and very good tasting. The only problem is most coconut trees are pretty tall and you would have to climb it to get the young coconuts. The other way people eat coconuts is the old coconut after it has fallen off the tree. You can eat the meat in it after removing it from the shell with a knife or crating it with a crater. You can also crate it and squeeze the milk for cooking or for making oil for using on your skin or for fuel. You can also eat the pulp in the coconut after the coconut sprouts and starts to grow. The islanders never used the oils for eating or cooking as far as I know. Thanks

Nowadays, it is quite simpler than ever to avoid the pedantry of doctors and health gurus regarding sugars and diabetes. Just buy a glucose meter and find out for yourself the foods that send your glucose up. If a calibrated meter said that food X is glucose-rising, then it is bad regardless of the statements of any health guru.

so what about adding pure sugar to a food that contains a lot of fiber? Does the sugar bind to the fiber and digest slower, or does it just kind of remain suspended inside the high fiber food and digest as a pure sugar? I ask because adding sugar to oats would be less calories and cheaper then adding fruit.
