The energy and raw talent of this group is infectious. Just saw them perform at the Grand Point North Festival in Burlington, VT, opening for Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. I really liked the lady playing the electric cello who joined the group. And Carolina's scat singing is awesome.
If you are not completely familiar with this group, search for the vidios of them playing with the Cheiftains, or Giddens singing in Gaelic. These musicians are way more than a novelty jug band.
@@tomadkins2866 We heard them in Glasgow at Celtic Connections a few years back, and she did a demonstration of Gaelic mouth music (from when Highland pipes were banned in Scotland). Pretty amazing.
The cello player is Layla McCalla, a Haitian American virtuoso, adding solid bass lines and adding to the tremendous energy of the group. You can't help but laugh, cry and dance to this music.
They are simply astonishing and wonderful... always great to hear them. Who needs electronic music with CCD around, they can play great stuff just with simple things.
They expend such energy and quality in their performance and instrumentality - Heard them several years ago by chance; because of their unusual name originally - Got several of their albums since then and always enjoy watching their videos.
These chocolate drops are addictive~~~LOVE you guys. You're all beyond wonderful and each of you really brings it to the table! Would love to see you in person, which Carolina r u from? I'm from North Carolina, Greensboro.
