Have to agree with this battle, I aswel prefer CH Men over YSL, infact, out of the 100 or so colognes I have purchased in my life, CH Men is in my top 2 fragrances of all time, right next to Fahrenheit.

Have had and enjoyed La Nuit' for years and am awaiting a CH Men delivery to much hype and fanfare.. It's still chilly out round my parts so I see myself using quite a bit of it between now and when it gets very hot out

Excellent comparison video, but the results are not unexpected at all since CH Men destroyed La Nuit in all the ladies to the sniff-off in my World years ago (2013-14). Of course, I used the original 2009 formulation of CH Men (initially) and 2012-13 formulations (not quite as good, but very close) VS my bottle of 2012 La Nuit, which still had good performance. In my case, the OG CH Men won by a wide 2 or 3 to 1 ratio and getting real world feedback from real world woman. Looking forward to your sniff-off between Aventus and Fragrance One. My thoughts: my now empty 500ml flacon (circa 2012 batch) with rich birch-tar and balanced burnt-pineapple accords, killed it (compliment wise) way, way, way better than the version so of Aventus-lite currently being sold. I liked Fragrance One when I first sniffed it, but it wasn't until I put in on the shelf for a couple months that, when I revisited it, those fruity nuances really developed and push forward. It has quickly risen the charts and is one of my top compliment getters, and I think it will spank Aventus if you're using a more recent formulation. Also, I would love to see you conduct a head-to-head sniff-off of Rasasi Hawas versus Allure Sport Homme Eau Extreme. Cheers.

Glad you are doing it with Aventus. If it was between Millisime Imperial and Office for Men and went bad, it would be horrifying to watch.

These are two amazing scents! Personally, I really like both as well as One Million by Paco Rabanne. These are my 3 favorite scents so far that I wear everyday. I like sweet bubblegum fragrances! ♥ :D

Were the comparison testing done on the dry downs? You would get a truer picture that way, I think... I have both, which are both really nice, at first but both become skin scents very quickly for me....

To me, the problem people will have with CH Men is on the card, they aren't going to smell much if anything. Someone who isn't into fragrances will not know that it will be different on skin. Dior Homme, Valentino Uomo, Givenchy Gentlemen and Guerlain L'homme Ideal all have that problem. Once you try on skin, that's where you real pick it up

You do these random folk tests so well. Great show even if these smell like shopping malls to me. Note that I got good performance when I tried my forgotten La Nuit sample for 1st time last eve. Don't feel right about selling my unused, blind-bought CH Man cause did not get good performance. La Nuit is nice. Considerable amounts have been invested in perfecting the smell of soda and much money made. YSL = smart.

So where do I get original/vintage formulations?

I know I'm late, but.. 4:53 she picked CH Men. She picked the first one she smelled, which is CH. Although she pointed to the other hand, it's because she asked which one was it and you showed the YSL wrist. :D Just bought that perfume, hopefully it's as good as it seems.

How is CH Men compared to CH Men Prive (of which I own a decant, and enjoy it despite it being a bit cliché and somewhat of a boozy mess. It even gave me a compliment)? Also I've smelled YSL La nuit de l'homme so much that I'm kind of getting sick of it (also it smells a lot like cumin and has a "food-like" aspect that can be off-putting to some people - a friend of mine gave me this remark when I wore it)

I can see why this happened. LNDH is very bad at the moment, after all the reformulations. I don't care what people say or imagine, this doesn't smell like it used to. It is not just the performance, it smells way worse that it used to. I have and love Le Parfum and the EDP, if you do a side by side you will see the difference in quality and smell, it is not even close. I would not wear LNDL even if someone gifted it to me. By the way, for tomorrow, I see Office for Men winning.

I like all sorts of nefarious smelling niche pooscapes, but I have to admit, CH Men is one of the few bottles that I have that I have finished and would also (At a discount!), possibly get a second bottle of, it just does a pleasant vibe well when you don't want to think, and I often don't, which may not be a good thing, but I've yet to kill a man with my bare hands, and I tolerate my mother.

Not surprised at all. Both have been reformulated...but Ch Men has been reformulated to death..both performance and scent wise...no longer the same fragrance. La Nuit on the other hand the reformulation mostly affected the level of richness of the scent but the character is the same. Having said that CH Men is far more masculine despite its sweetness. Something about the leather sugar combo (very little grass..if any in the new bottles)...is very appealing and sexy to females...and guys like it too. Unfortunately the projection and longevity of the newer CH Men is abysmal. La Nuit is very metrosexual and leans feminine to my nose...decent scent but as a man I find it difficult to wear with confidence. Pretty sure the original CH Men with that rich and oh so sexy and unique grass/sugarcane/leather cocaoish vibe would have blown even the vintage La Nuit completely out of the water. Great vid and excellent choice for a fragrance battle!

Ch Men its complect fragrance start to end,,,, YSL start nice but in the heart and dry down smell sucks,,,

I bought ch men prive a few days ago ... Perfect scent . I love it . Just the performance isnt that great . I mean 6 hrs isnt bad but i was wishing for more tbh . Anyway its a great fragrance

Ch men is definitely better

You have to keep in mind that you made them smell it daytime, end of Summer, I'm sure if you did this test again at night time in the Fall that YSL would win it. All about context.
